If they can make like MP3 it would be pretty fking epic , I loved the shootouts in that game, but seeing it in open world would make it oo much better, but wouldn't that take too much space?

What i find a bit odd is that they DID show blood and bulletwounds/holes in the RDR and MP3 videos. But then again, those videos were vastly different from the GTA V videos so far, those all contained gameplay, third person gameplay, GTA V's trailers don't.

The videos were gameplay.

The difference is GTA is R* baby and they want to keep everything under wraps. The amount of info we have on this game I would say is only 10% amount of stuff.

It didn't show direct gameplay. It was either cutscenes or actual gameplay that has been heavily edited to look more cinematic. RDR and MP3 videos showed gameplay as you would see when you play it.

Yep, it definitely is their baby. Rockstar = GTA , simple as that. That's why i really don't think we'll be seeing those gameplay introduction videos that we got for RDR and MP3, not gonna happen.

I honestly don't want them to show me the game.

and if they do, I'm not going to be watching them.

Well the actual trailers for RDR and MP3 were done just the same way as GTA's trailers generally are, which are basically movie trailers since they are mostly cutscenes with some gameplay from cinematic angles thrown in. The only difference is that they also had videos where they show direct gameplay, with HUD and all, to explain features, while GTA does not.

However GTA cutscenes are not pre-rendered. They are done using real-time graphics, so the graphics are the same either way. Even somebody mentioned that the faces are more detailed in cutscenes than in gameplay, but this really isn't the case in RDR at least. So what we're seeing in GTA's trailers may not be gameplay, but they are a pretty good representation of what the actual game looks like (obviously they minimize things like pop-in and aliasing issues, which will probably be fairly common in the final game's graphics, because we're still in a time where it looks kinda unprofessional to have those imperfections in the official marketing material). Basically, as far as the graphics go, cutscene graphics = gameplay graphics.

Now, what we have to keep in mind is features. For instance, I would be surprised if train collisions looked like that in the actual gameplay, because that is obviously a cutscene. Same with the moment Jimmy falls into the red car Mike is driving; that's probably not a real-time physics simulation but a cutscene. Again, I'd be surprised if I were wrong. So yeah, we gotta keep that stuff in mind.

I could imagine a vastly improved damage engine from the one in IV, where you have different types of damage systems for each type of transportation.

Trains will bend different to cars since they are way more solid, and jet fighters might even have wings break off instead of just bending.

It kind of looks like the bends were made from the engine, since actual train crashes wouldn't look like that I think.

So if you were to crash a train into another one, it will be a unique crash every time like in IV biggrin.gif

I'm on the same boat as you man, i really don't want them to spoil that 'special moment' for me either. I didn't care when it was for RDR or MP3, but GTA is something special. It would be the first time for a GTA game if they start introducing these videos and i highly doubt they will. Cause they said they wanted to keep plenty back to surprise players when they discovered stuff themselves. However...on Newswire they spoke of more video material or somehting along those lines in the near future....but that could simply mean a third and fourth trailer.
