Trailer 2.

36 seconds in.

The scene where Trevor says:

"Ill stop by to sign the contract, just ignore the bodies"

The bodies in the back have clear bulletwounds in them which makes me

think it will be somewhat like Red Dead which is a good thing.

Nothing like having proof of you accuracy spread across the victims chest.

Wounds were heavily improved in Max Payne 3. Hell, I'm sure I've literally shot people's jaws off in that game; even the fabric from their clothes. It's crazy. There is always room for improvement though!

It striked me a bit odd though that in Max Payne 3 they removed the feature where you could actually damage limbs - like in Red Dead Redemption - for example, shooting the knee-caps causing them to kneel or crawl. But I guess it wasn't needed considering in MP3 you just run-it and gun-it.

But I'm really looking forward to see it in Grand Theft Auto, considering we also have vehicles. Maybe broken limbs and wounds will be present again, most likely though.

If they use the same as Max Payne 3 I would be thrilled but I think that would be to much to ask

from an open world game. To much to handle for consoles i guess.

Not really.

As far as I know it's just emitting particles and parenting a specific bullet wound model to the body. I'm sure there is more to it, but that's the basic idea.

There's no reason for R* not to implement the gore introduced in RDR, if they made it like IV they'd be taking a step backwards and with their 'bold new direction', they'd wanna make sure they get everything right.

Needless to say, we can definitely expect bullet wounds, gore and general content like MP3 & RDR.

Good find, OP, though I do notice a lack of blood pools under the bodies, unless I'm just missing it.

Actually, let me go find a screenshot. I remember there was one before the game was released, and it shows what I'm talking about. Gimme a minute to find it.

Okay, I found it. It's actually a screen-cap from one of the Design and Development videos for Max Payne 3. This is what I mentioned that has happened a few times when playing:

I hope it's like the gore in MP3. Just started replaying that game this week and I completely forgot how much fun it is to shoot. You can literally put holes in people. Sincerely hope GTAV has something very similar to this.

smokeysmokeonsmoke

does anyone have a screenshot of this damage they can post?

If the Red dead damage system is there (hopefully updated) I will definitely knee cap (both legs) a dealer/gang member then run him over at high speeds whilst he is defenceless in the middle of the street lol.

Now they just need Melee damage!

Amazing, i liked how bulletwounds were heavily improved in Max Payne 3/Red Dead Redemption compared to IV, there is always room for improvement but i wouldn't mind if it were exactly the same in V, it's amazing.

Or it could be pre-scripted to look like that... Just sayin.

If they use the same system as MP3 and add the limbs effect from RDR, then it will be nearly perfect in my opinion. Both games nailed down what they were trying to do.

Why should they be scripted ? They can do it in the game (as proven before with RDR and MP3) and as they said in these posts, it should be a step backward if they don't add this

I think every bullet fired in MP3 was rendered in real time causing individual damage effects per bullet. GTA V needs this. Imagine taking a heavy machine gun to a traffic and watching every bullet shred through the cars and peds.

Thats not possible... It was shown in a gameplay video from R* but in the final game it got cut out.

You see it in the second trailer? Cause i really didn't. I was actually very surprised how there's zero blood in that scene and also no blood in that screenshot of Trevor with a dead body on the ground near water. Now of course GTA V won't be without blood but i was surprised. Cause we do see a small splatter of blood when Trevor smacks the dude's head on a counter in the bar in the second trailer. So i thought it was kinda odd to see three bodies and zero blood..bullet holes? Gonna have to watch it again i guess then.

But it's pretty much a given it will look very similar like RDR and/or MP3, i hope the latter. Cause as we all know..GTA IV already had it somewhat, no bulletholes but you'd see red spots on people's clothing after you shot them, that was the beginning of bullet holes for Rockstar's games. Then came RDR with the realistic bullet holes and blood and then...came Max Payne 3 and did it so much better and well...sicker. But i like sick biggrin.gif

I got this screenshot from the trailer here...not sure i'd call those bulletwounds though....i think here they needed to be added in

I watched the trailer again...that one part with Trevor shows big blood stains on the clothing, or thats what it seems to be. But i see no holes in there, i bet they weren't added in there yet.

I think its pretty obvious that there will be bulletwounds/blood in V

Do you think R* made RDR with bulletwounds and tought ''hmm okay now lets make gta v, but screw bulletwounds and blood!!!''

I dont think so. They have even borrowed ideas from RDR like random events biggrin.gif

What i find a bit odd is that they DID show blood and bulletwounds/holes in the RDR and MP3 videos. But then again, those videos were vastly different from the GTA V videos so far, those all contained gameplay, third person gameplay, GTA V's trailers don't.

The videos were gameplay.

The difference is GTA is R* baby and they want to keep everything under wraps. The amount of info we have on this game I would say is only 10% amount of stuff.

I Am Spoonbender

i'm hoping, from the looks of those screens: that the gore is somewhat atleast similar to MP3's system. i'm not sick or anything - it just adds to the realism, lol.

a little off topic, i just noticed MP3 is on sale 50% until Nov. 27th on steam!!! brilliant. going to get it when i get home.
