Anyway, we know that Franklin and Lamar are in the same gang, but will it be a gang that existed in GTA:SA, or will it be an entirely new gang? I know that R* said this LS is set in an entirely different universe to the previous LS, but of course there will be many elements they keep the same. Perhaps they're in the Ballas gang? If so it would be quite interesting to see if the Grove Street Families are still around and how they interact with the Ballas; it would help us understand what happened to these gangs after the events of SA. Or maybe none of the previous gangs will be carried over to this gen, and Franklin and Lamar will instead be in a completely new gang? What do you guys think? In the second trailer he mentions 'gang signs' to Lamar, and this picture could suggest he's in a gang: So of course this is all just a coincidence, isn't it... Perhaps, but personally I think they're both in a gang as they're both friends and respect each other (to an extent). @DeafMetal: That's what I'm thinking. With the focus being on 3 protagonists and their own unique perspectives, I think having a new gang perspective (i.e. playing as part of the Ballas) would fit in with the theme really well. It'd be interesting if they were/are in the Ballas, but I have a hunch that there will be totally new gangs in V, no Grove Street, Ballas, Aztecas or Vagos in sight. smokeysmokeonsmoke Posted November 21, 2012 Share Posted November 21, 2012 Yeah I don't see them bringing back the Ballas maybe the colors but a different name, I think Franklin is affiliated with Lamars gang not exactly just straight up gang bangin like his friend but helps them out whilst trying to leave the street life behind which is why he works with Trevor and Michael making more and faster money. Maybe he has known them for a long time and feels he owes them still? I definitely think gangs/gang wars will be big part of Franklin's main story missions and side missions when he isn't with the others getting Lamar out of all kinda sh*t. Franklin is either a member of or was a member of some Grove Street families set, presuming Grove Street Families and Ballas are returning. I'm guessing that cutscene happens about halfway through the story, as we already know Lamar is in a gang and that seems to be the point when Franklin decides to 'quit'. Before that, however, I'm guessing Franklin was still in a gang, just trying to sneak out of it. Lamar seems to show no interest in leaving the gang, and is possibly trying to keep Franklin in the gang. I have a feeling there will be more and more tension between Franklin and Lamar throughout the main story as Franklin's involvement weakens, but now I'm deviating away from my own topic I suppose what I'm trying to ask is what gang is Lamar in that Franklin is possibly trying to leave? I know speculating is fun and is what makes the wait bearable. But when it comes straight from the horse's mouth, I don't think it needs to be speculated about. Which is ok in that bussiness I knew a couple people who would be cool with ride alongs individually. It's free lance. While Lamar is still... about that life. Franklin may still put in work for the gang here and there.
