Which console will have better graphics ?

Who gives a sh*t is the real question.

 

Sure there are going to be a few minor differences, but it's nothing like the difference between a PS2 game and a PS3 game. What, in Red Dead Redemption you got some, extra grass and a little more contrast or something? The differences are so minuscule that you need a side-by-side comparison to pick out the differences. And even then they won't stick out that much.

For GTAIV and Max Payne 3, they chose xbox to demo to the press. For GTAV, it's PS3. There's your answer.

Like I was saying in the other thread about this, this is exactly what the Assassin's Creed board was saying about AC3 leading up to release, because every demo of it was done on the PS3.

 

...then the game came out, and XBox was clearly the better, smoother, less buggy looking of the 2. To the point where it wasn't even a debate anymore. So, yeah..

 

EDIT: And as mentioned, in reality the graphics difference will be minimal. All these polls results tell me so far is 229 people own a PS3 and 145 have an XBox.

Nope, both were pretty much identical, the graphics were exactly the same, (Native resolution: 1280x720 [720p] ) both had slight framerate drops in some areas, and the game wasn't shown only on PS3, you have a short memory.

Travelling through foggy forests and outskirt villages gives us perfect feedback, but big battles on city streets gives both consoles grief. We see different scenes favouring different platforms - it's the PS3 that handles forest areas at a higher frame-rate, while navigating Boston's rooftops is 360 territory.

Am i the only one that backs up his claims with links? I f*cking hate it when people talk out of thier arse.

Whereas I've had zero of these problems on the XBox, nor have most other XBox people there it seems. After almost a full month of seeing those threads, I felt that was more than enough info for me on which one turned out better visually.

 

I also don't really care about these wars, I'm a 360 owner but before that it was PS1 & PS2, and I'm planning on jumping back to PS next gen (just small, nitpicky things). Just had to disagree with those saying its for sure going to look better on the PS3 simply because its what R*'s using to test it. As AC3 seems to have put that argument to bed..

That is mostly like this because multi-platform games often are developed for XBox 360 and then ported to Playstation 3 and PC. GTA V is developed seperatly for each platform which means GTA V will most likely look like what each platform can offer. The game will use all the power that every platform has. It will use 100% of the hardware from the X360 and PS3 and ist will most likely run on a great variety of PCs so that older PCs can run the game and High-End PCs will be "milked" by GTA V.

Pretty much summed it up. I doubt we'll notice the differences between the 2 console versions.

Fair enough, I said as much at the bottom of the original post people are commenting on.

 

I think my whole original point has gotten overlooked due to perhaps too strong of wording I used in that post. It wasn't to say the 360 is better, but rather it was to point out that, just because a game is being showcased by a developer on a certain console, doesn't mean its automatically going to look better on that console.

Let take me the wild guess - you have a Playstation 3, right? He is not biased at all, he just said the truth because most games usually are developed for the XBox 360 and then ported to all other platforms. That's usually the case but not anymore with Rockstar Games since Max Payne 3 because games are now developed seperatly for each platform instead of being developed on one platform and then ported to the other ones.

I don't think Halo 4 looks THAT great, sure it's a great looking game but in my opinion Uncharted 3 looks better than Halo 4 by a long shot.

 

According to the poll most people here play PS3, I do as well, but I voted the 360 to look better because I am almost certain that IV will be developed on Xbox and Ported over to Playstation 3, hence the PS3 version looking slightly worse in most areas.

graphics are usually better on PS3 but 360 has better multiplayer and i like the feel of the controller. So meh it depends on your preferences. I have both so i can choose on the fly.

 

For the argument between graphics... PC beats both consoles. It always will, they have better hardware and depending on how up to date and gaming configured the PC is you beat anything around.

 

I still prefer my console games since the controls are much more intuitive than keyboard and mouse, IMO.

Maybe go check out Eurogamer's Digital Foundry on Halo 4, i'm not the only one saying it's the best looking 360 game. But not only that..i'm gonna say it again, for me it IS the best looking console game so far. Gears Of War 2 was game that started the SSAO on Consoles, Gears Of War 3 was way more optimized, HALO 4 isn't a surprise it has satisfying Graphics but not that High End graphics.
