"It will be a more contemporary phone, so I think you'll use it for things like accessing the internet" he says There are many things in that one sentence that got me thinking about the phone itself. The only few playable 'functions' it had was to ring one person for a gun van to buy guns another to get a car sent to you, ring someone to hang out with, take a picture and access multiplayer and of course checking the time You couldn't even use the 'Organizer' you used it once/twice in a mission and that was it. Now the phone will gain new features, Houser said you will be able to access the internet, but that still to me makes the whole 'whats the point of the phone' question still stick with me. So this is just a small list of the things I want to make the phone 'usefull' and worth being in the game 1/ Sending a simple text message to one of characters. Although people will say you can just ring them lala... The constant phone calls of repeated convos were damn right annoying. A text message would be easier and quite franky easier to ignore. "hey its ** wanna hang out?" "no" "ahh maybe next time ah" 5 hours later the same phone call ! 2/ Reading meaningful E-mails and sending meaningful E-mails. This wasn't done in GTA4 and tbh.... it annoyed me. What was the point of it ? it meant nothing to anyone and had exactly ZERO impact on the game. So make useful E-mails and be able to access them from your phone which can influence the game by what you reply back/read. 3/ Game apps... mock of angry birds, this could replace the game machines. 4/ Music player / radio IN THE PHONE. now.. this can help you in game while on the run from police on foot. not only will it keep you entertained but if your listening to the radio on your phone, news reports could help in the directions you take to escape. News reporter "stay clear of said road as a road block has been put in place thats it for your local traffic news" + sometimes its nice to listen to some music while eating realistic steak. 5/ Not sure if this is in the game already or not. But uploading pictures / videos taken from your phone to the internet. just a small little gimmick but would be widely used for the LOL moments that you wish you could have shown people. 6/ A Social network site which you can communicate with your PSN/XBOXLIVE friends while in game. Which automatically updates from what your doing "said player is now on the run from 5* police" and you can manually update 'status' yourself. and upload pictures/videos What do you think will be brought to our table with the phone. I just either hope its useable or its not.. I don't want an in the middle thing like it was in GTA4 like using the phone for cheats and that was it. See this was the situation in GTA4... the phone was just a gimmick annoying feature which you had to use but for stupid annoying stuff. like trying to activate a cheat but get shot by the police before you even come close to doing it. -_- Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
