Your first video game experience

Depends what you class as a gamer, but the earliest game I remember playing a lot of was Bonanza Brothers on Sega Megadrive! Was so f*cking dope!! After that though, it was probably Vice City before I picked up the pad properly again

NBA Action 98.

 

 

I was amazed by this as a child but I didn't exactly know how to play it, one of the first games I ever played, the only game I remember from that time on Pentium I.

Don't have a specific memory but it would have been playing various games on my dad's ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 when I was about four I guess.

Playing an older madden game on the PS1. Man, that was the sh*t. You could run around after the play and tackle people. You'd get a flag, but damn..

 

Don't remember the year though. My PS1 got smashed against a closet funny enough..

Nintendo 64. It was a racing game called Lamborghini Automobili or something like that.

 

Also played Banjo Kazooie, Diddy Kong Racing and Matio Kart 64 around that time as well. God they were awesome games, I'd love to get an N64 again.

I f*cking loved Crash as a child, if i remember correctly, I think i started playing video games in 1999 or 2000 on PS1, didn't buy a PS2 until 2002.

I was around 3 or 4, my parents bought a Dynavision (the Brazilian rip off of the Atari). I spent many hours playing H.E.R.O., Pitfall Harry, Enduro, River Raid, Q-Bert... Then went SNES - N64 - GameCube - Wii - Xbox 360, all side by side with my PC (where I started off with Wolfenstein 3D, a couple years after my Dynavision).

Space Invaders was my first experience with video games.

I think I still own that! The only one I don't remember playing was Spike in Transylvania. The others were great, I was addicted to the Dizzy games.

 

I need to raid my parents' attic at some point and reclaim all of my retro games. I have a crate full of C64 tapes up there, not to mention the Commodore itself (though that was dropped whilst it was being put away, so hopefully it still works).

I've been in touch with games ever since I knew for myself. Some of my first memories are related to video games.

 

Well, it was short after the Serbian Aggression on my country. My father got job in a construction firm same year I was born, '96. His firm gave him a computer and he brought it home. I am still surprised by that, the war just ended, and the firm managed to afford its employees computers, which were very expensive then. It was Pentium II, just released then. So, that's where my gaming started.

Me and my five years older brother played on it while father was at work. We mainly played Pacman, Supaplex and Prince Of Persia. I don't remember much of it, but we played it a lot.

Oh god, now this thread is bringing back memories. I actually remember pretty clearly watching my brother play the original sonic the hedgehog and thinking how fun it was. However, the game that really started it all for me was "Altered beast". Initially, this game scared the sh*t out of me, what with starting out of a grave and fighting a boss who kept scratching his faces off, but now I just laugh at how funny it was.

 

 

 

Another early memory for me was the paperboy game, it's a pretty simple game but I had plenty of fun with it. On easy street I didn't have much a problem, but the hard mode was flipping ridiculous when I was younger. I just didn't have the reactions to dodge all the cars, runaway lawn-mowers etc.

I played street fighter or something on this arcade machine at the local fish & chips shop. My real first taste was playing Spyro on my older Brother's PS1, I remember headbutting some Shepherd, I was probably like 5 or 6, something like that anyway I can't remember exactly. I also played some Batman game around 96 or 97'

Correction:

 

This GameBoy was my first own 'console' but the first game ever I played was 'Lemmings' on an Atari or Commodore or something. I loved those Lemmings.

The very first console I remember playing was one of the Ataris back in like 1990 or something.

 

Thinking about it I've pretty much spent my whole life around video games. Well ever since I started school. I've had so many consoles I can't even name them all.

That game was so good I put it on my PSP to play through again and I was finally able to unlock the last two racers because I didn't suck ass at games anymore.

 

You had to use the dog to stand any chance of beating Beamer. But after 10 or so years I finally beat him. Fewoof.

Test Drive 5 and Driver, I was really into racing games when I was five. Also think I played a bit of a game called World's Wildest Police Chases as well, then discovered GTA when I was around 10. That's how I grew up to be the homicidal maniac you see before you.

Grew up on those two games, definately.

 

I was 6 when I first started gaming, on PS1. My first game was Alien Trilogy, yes it was a scary f*ckin game at the time but it was so awesome. Only 3 years later GTAIII came out
