ClareXoBearrx3R9
LOL, man o man, I wish Jeremy Clarkson we're here to insult you guys for defending a VC LOL And the stats I provided were from a 2011 Kia optima SX not the hyrbid lol, VC=Top 50 sh*ttiest cars ever made HAHAHAHAHAHAH go drive your sh*tty car LMAOOOOOO, I'll just keep on enjoying my 2008 Audi A4, LOL your all poor if you drive this car, poor and tasteless like a bum LOLZ For the record,Crown Victoria = CV. Not VC. VC usually refers to Vice City. Anyhow, the Crown Victoria is the most widely used police cruiser in the US. So the specs really are irrelevant for the purpose of "realism" in the game. Yes, they're no longer in production (halted in 2011), but most departments still have them in their fleet. Chargers are also becoming common, as well as the Ford Police Interceptor, which is essentially a Taurus. Edited because my phone has a mind of its own when it comes to typing. Lil ski
Dude there is NOTHING scarier than seeing a Crown Vic in your rear view mirror or sitting on the side of the road!
Skitzo100
Personally I like the crown Vic's and it should be in every gta game until every one bit of them are gone. Asking the u.s. to give CV's is like asking the military to stop using m16s in battle, or MTA to give up gmc rts buses in NY, or NFS to stop using mustangs in every racing car games. All those things will always be Americans favorite as to apple pie. People liked them because of their design, performance, and APPEARANCES! Some of y'all just gonna have to deal with, or mod their own sh*tty car in!!
stee_vo
But this isn't New York... so you're trying to tell me there isn't any crown vics in LA? hmm..... cool story bro Where the hell did he say that? You said ''I'm in NY and i see Crown Vics everywhere'' as if GTA V Had something do with NY... Wich it doesn't.

TheDizasterChild
American cars are pathetic. Even the new ones look old. Well I wouldn't go that far, FORD has really been making some great cars, but it took a financial crisis to overhaul it's products LOL, if there was no financial meltdown, we would still be seeing those ugly ass Taurus's on the road, the point is though, VC sucks caca. Oh my God, you're a f*cking moron. Ford didn't receive a bail-out, that was GM and Chrysler. And yes, the government ARE using their own subsidized cars, hence why the Impala made a comeback a few years ago, and why they're bringing the Holden Commodore over from Australia to update it as the Chevy PPV (basically, a rebadging for the Caprice). Get your facts straight before running your cocksucker, and quit using misinformed sites like Edmunds to get your information. And by the way, since you're saying American cars suck and are banging on Kia like they're amazing... Why is it that my "sh*tty" American-made Cavalier gets better gas mileage than a brand new "efficient" Kia, and would stomp it's ass on the drag strip AND the road course? And even after modifications, I still spent less than half of the cost of said Kia? And one more thing before I drop some REAL information... You call Crown Vic/Grand Marquis owners tasteless and poor, yet you drive an A4. That's the poor man's Audi LOL! What a f*cking tool. Come back when you man up and can afford an RS4. I hear the B5 chassis is getting cheaper these days. For the record, I'm a huge VW/Audi enthusiast. Not bashing the A4, just the asshat driving it. Now, as for the car in question... And I'm surprised the Ford tech didn't point this out. The Ford Crown Vic and Merc Grand Marquis are different from what you guys are calling the cop Crown Vic. Their main customer base are older people/senior citizens looking for a smooth, comfortable ride and long-term reliability without spending a ton of cash. Yes, they are slower than a jug of molasses in an Alaskan winter, and don't get the best gas mileage, but they're rock solid and will last a long time. Most of their owners don't care for the latest tech and gadgets. The Ford Police Interceptor, or what you guys are calling the cop Crown Vic, is completely different from your grandma's car. The entire suspension and handling packages are up-to-date, which is the main strongpoint behind these cars. The motor has been slightly tweaked, and the ECU has been completely retuned for optimal performance and limiters have been raised. They are not the slosh boat you people are referring to. However, due to the motor they carry and the lack of performance parts they use, they're still relatively slow. Police Interceptors run a quarter-mile time of 16.7, which is about what your average 4-cylinder economy car runs (Escorts, Cavaliers, Focus, Neon, etc.). Everyone keeps saying that these cars are being phased out by law enforcement agencies everywhere, but the truth is that it's a slow process, and will continue to be for a long while. Given the number of well-running Interceptors still in cycle, and the fact that most local governments are hurting for money and can't afford to redo their fleet, you'll likely see these be replaced one car at a time. Here where I live, we have two of the new Ford Taurus'. But the majority is still the Ford Interceptor and will be for years to come.

The vic has a better running gear. the trans and rear gear are a big improvment and aid in better acceleration and drivability. Also, there are other improvments to the suspention and frame. My box body marquis and lincoln had crappy 2.73 highway gears. Upgrading to 3.55 makes a huge difference. So with little mods, these big cars can be made to drive and handle pretty darn good. And I agree, the A4 is basically a VW passat lol. It dont exactly wow everyone that walks by. Now if he drove a RS8, he would be an asshat with atleast some taste lol. TheDizasterChild
To be fair, I daily drive a Volkswagen Passat. But at least mine is a VR6 5-speed lol. It doesn't wow, but it definitely gets looks since you don't see too many wagons slammed to the ground on coilovers. It'll be for sale come spring when I get my Golf Harlequin back from the paint shop.
kurvenflo
I agree that there should be more crown Vics in V since it is a very common vehicle in LA. BtW big lol at the comparison with a 4.6 RWD full-size car (crown vic) and a 2.0 FWD mid-size car. (Kia Optima) The crown Vic is a cool car with simple technique but extremely reliable. I always loved that car as well as the sister cars Grand marquis and Town Car. The current gen Town Car (with FWD?) looks like it is made for the trash can... Civkiller
Crown Vics are just boats on wheels and there are way too many of them already, we need less of them and more variety of vehicles which we will get in GTA V, plus you already have cabs and cop cars that are crown vics.. time for something better
