When can we expect to hear a real

I know i'm asking something pretty much no soul on this forum can know, but still. I got curious and checked how this happened for GTA IV. The real April 29th release date was announced on January 24th in 2008 and as we all know, that also turned out to be the real release date. Things however have been going quite differently with the release timeline of GTA V so far. So...what can be expected? January a big possibility for a release date announcement or will it be more like February or March? I think most of us are expecting the release date to be in either April or May....and usually they announce the release date several months before it comes out. RDR's initially planned April release date was announced in December and in March it was announced for May. And the same goes for Max Payne 3..several months before release it got announced. But then...that also got delayed a month or two again. You guys think Rockstar/Take Two will wait until the last minute this time, to announce the real release date?

R* follows no stupid pattern.

They will announce the exact date when the game is done, or when they are 100% certain that it will be done. They have been messing with release dates too much in the past, they won't take this risk again.

So, it can be whenever.

"Spring 2013" is in October right? October is pretty much still spring right?

Spring is over six months from now. Think about how far away that is. You might as well ask for a complete release date for the next GTA game as well.

Once we get closer to Spring time they will announce it. You people are just confused is all. Most games are announced when their release is closer, so there is always an exact release date. Difference here is we got a confirmation ahead of time so it's logical that they don't have an exact date.

No, October is in the Fall which comes after Summer - which is two whole seasons after the Spring. So no.

Wrong. R* must allow themselves the time to market the game. Once the date is anounced, there will undoubtedly be a fairly rigid period of advertising leading up to the game's release. In this sense, they must follow a pattern. Said pattern can be approximated from IV's release.

Hmm isn't that hemisphere dependent?

Yes, but Rockstar North is in New England - so obviously when they refer to the Springtime they're basing the release date in reference to the seasonal time in their location.

They already allowed themselves time to market it. The release window only covers three months, that's not a lot. Of course they won't announce the game two weeks prior to the release, but let's say it will be in March/April, they'll announce it in January. If it will be later they'll most likely also announce it later.

The most plausible date for the release however is still end of March, because of several reasons that were discussed a million times already, and that apparently also falls into "Spring".

BUT, like I said, they will release it when they are done. Like I said they have been delaying games too many times in the past, they'll probably not want to face that again.

I don't think it nessarily will mean it comes later then planned if they don't announce anything in January. Maybe they'll really wait a month or two before release to announce it, that way they are very sure that it's done. But i realize it's a question that is pretty much impossible to give a clear answer to. We'll just have to wait and see. I think its time i put GTA V off my mind for awhile, go play some of the awesome games that are out and are still coming.

I don't know what Rockstar Games considers Spring, but April is less than 5 months away. I'm hoping it's April. Probably May.

Yep. Over here it'll be released in Autumn which is why in the G.I article is says pre-order now "Autumn 2013".

Actually, the first day of Spring is exactly 4 months away.

OT: I wouldn't be surprised if the date is announced roughly the same time as trailer 3 comes out, and i'm guessing February for both.

Autumn? What? Here in the states it's being advertised for Spring which is April-June.

You're obviously an idiot. Seasons depend on which hemisphere you're on. So in the states April-June would be spring.. in other parts of the world would be autumn.

Hopefully trailer 3 will have the concrete date at the end of the video, but you never know what R* will do. If it IS at the end of video then ''WHEN THE HELL IS THE NEW TRAILER COMING!?'' LOL lol.gif
