Low sagging pants. Will we see them?

For the record. I HATE LOW SAGGING PANTS.

1- Is there intelligent life in the universe, outside of the planet Earth?

2- How is it that low sagging pants have been around for well over a decade?

THESE are the questions that great minds will ponder for a long time to come. This horrible trend can no longer be called a "fad", because fads GO AWAY. Bellbottoms, Disco, The Beehive hairdo and leather pants were all fads, but they ended. Why does this awful trend persist in society?

That all being said, i DO find certain aspects of this image to be funny, and ripe for satire in the world of GTA. Will we see citizens tripping over themselves as they attempt to run from police? Or run from you shooting at them? The game IS based in current times, and while i don't want to see this EVERYWHERE, it wouldn't make sense NOT to include this in ghetto areas. What do you guys think?

From what I been told, it started in prisons as a way to show that you were okay with "dropping the soap".

It came from jail since people wont allowed to wear belts or shoe strings because they could be used as weapons or commit suicide .People brought it to the streets but sagging been around since the late 80's so this fad probably never go away.

Quite possibly the toughest homosexuals out there. I can only hypothesize that rap has to be the gayest form of music, beating out trance music on an account of exposed assholes. As a result thier pants had a habit of sagging down. This look was adopted by young black males who idolized prison culture and imagery of the times. Unfortunately, this trend persists even today.

 

To answer the OPs question, yes it will most likely be there in the lower class areas of the city.

 

BTW, if your trying to hide your ass, wouldn't you keep your pants pulled UP?

You need to calm down and not have a stroke over how someone else wears their pants. I think it's stupid too but you're taking it to an insane level as you usually do. I know you're old and mad at the darn kids on your lawn duster but honestly sagging pants in gta5 will not bother 99.99% of the people who play it.

As for the pants thing, yes i think this pathetic style of clothing will be in the game, most likely by the street gangs. We have a lot of people wearing their pants like this in the UK, and it really does make them look like douches - like there's something wrong with them. I've seen people with seber disorders (cerebal pausey (sP) i think) who can manage to dress themselves properly yet these wannaba "gangstas" favour this retarded style?

 

IIRC, CJ's default trousers in SA were of this style, though not as obvious.

 

It's an annoying trend - like the misuse of the words "confirmed" and "legit" on these forums, but if rockstar was to parody the real world, then they'd most likely include this style.

 

 

As a side note, Saints Row - before anyone badmouths it, yes it is not as good as GTA - allowed a lot of clothing customisation, pretty much any item of clothing could be any colour, but also, many of the pants/jeans in the game could be worn "normally" or "low".

The clothing customisation system in Saints Row 1 & 2 (not 3) is something rockstar really should look at.

1- It's only an opinion based on how it LOOKS, not some deep seeded hatred. So before you get all pious, you should get the facts.

2- I clearly stated that Rockstar could do something FUNNY with it, but you obviously chose to ignore certain parts of what i said.

3- As great of a person as you think YOU are, even YOU mention the waistband having to be above "your asshole", in order for you to be O.K. with it. So i guess you aren't so "tolerant" of other people after all.

I think we will see some peds with sagging pants but not to an extreme extent. Baggy pants are clearly confirmed though as evidenced by the drug dealer(?) in the first trailer.

 

And no the trend didn't start because inmates were trying to show they wanted sex but because the pants in prison often were oversized and had no belts (for obvious reasons) so the only way they could wear them was low.

My last comment was not directed at you. I just got caught off guard by the sudden holier than thou judgement being passed. This thread was a simple commentary on current day society, from ONE person's point of view. I added that Rockstar COULD have a humorous take on this "fashion trend", by having gangsters tripping over themselves while running from cops, or bullets. If there was EVER a place where this would be "acceptable" to comment on, i THOUGHT it would be here. Apparently, GTA is now considered serious and toned down.
