NO FLAME INTENDED

Hey guys just like you know Current Consoles dont support DX11 and probably never will And RAGE Now supports DX11, Now as i was promoting the Petition on GiantBomb Forums, I told them that V wont be a port this time, A fine gentlemen with a better brain than the rest asked a very tricky and a clever question.

What are you trying to say here? I've seen you made some pretty inaccurate technical statements regarding game development, so I think you need to leave the technical discussion to technical people.

A game can still be a port and have DirectX11 support. While Max Payne 3 wasn't a port, as such, I understand the only differences were related to more advanced shaders from the Shader Model 5 series and hardware tessellation (and, of course, higher resolution game assets like textures and audio files).

So technically a game that was originally developed for console can be "ported" to PC and have the addition of DirectX11 features.

Here's to hoping it comes to PC at all.

And I feel like after IV, they'll be more careful about it if they do release a PC version. Half the reason people pirate is because the bugs and graphics the game came with was not worth the $60. (The other half is that the multiplayer wasn't engaging enough and people were willing to sacrifice that for the sake of playing only singleplayer, which this time, hopefully, won't be the case.)

In terms of the Crysis vs. Rockstar issue, though, I wouldn't base everything off of DX11. They're too unpredictable to proceed with a logical decision like that.

Yes and im 100% f*ckING SURE

But you can support more than one DirectX program

So this topic has no backbone, nor is it 100% proof.

I was referring to posts like these, yes: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtop...st&p=1061970177

...where even you admitted you made mistakes on the technical side. This is not personal, I'm just saying, you really shouldn't make bold statements on a subject matter that you aren't really well versed in compared to more technically aware people. It's like, I know jack sh*t about car mechanics, so I don't try and make bold statements about it or enter into mechanical discussions.

To be more precise to what I'm trying to tell you: What you are linking has no correlation to how a game having DirectX11 support suddenly means it's not a PC port. Just because it hasn't happened in the past, doesn't mean it won't.

From a technical standpoint, it is possible to port a game from one platform and have the addition of DirectX11 features. If you actually knew what DirectX11 means for games, you'd understand that.

It's just like how San Andreas was ported into the Rage engine...

Whereas back in 2004 it was using Vertex Lighting, suddenly it was having more advanced shaders where it had per-pixel lighting.

Its not trolling.

You can't claim something when its clearly not proof of anything.

You picked up on something so little then claimed such a big thing lol.

Adriaan, I made this thread for a reason, Some people agreed with me over there at GB Forums, People WILL agree with me, And please ignore my nonsense in my previous threads i was just being too much of cocky, BUT THIS TIME IT IS TRUE.

I'm a PC gamer and I still fail to see why this deserves its own topic. It's not that relevant and it proves nothing. Just because RAGE now supports DX11 (thanks to MP3) it doesn't mean GTA V will be made for PC.

LA Noire was ported from console to PC... and then later had DirectX11 features added through a title update. There is your example of a game being ported from console to PC and had the addition of DirectX11 features.

You were saying it hasn't happened before. So there's your example wink.gif.

The point you were trying to make is how DirectX11 support suddenly means a game isn't ported from console to PC. As I have told you this is not true, and now have provided you of evidence of such a case where a game was ported from console to PC and those features added... case closed?

Again, leave the technical discussions for people that are actually aware of something. Don't make bold statements like "IT IS TRUE" when you don't actually have a clue. Again, not personal, but don't try to make bold statements on something you have no clue about icon14.gif

A very good excuse Sir but i have an answer for it already because such questions were being asked to me by Admins and Mods at there too.

Max Payne 3 came with BUILT IN DX11

... So they stopped patching DX11 in. That's all that happened. It offers no further proof of a PC version being in production.
