Forzum
So I know that this has probably been discussed many times before this topic, but there´s one thing I´ve been a bit curious about. I remember when I read the Gameinformer cover (I think it was GI) that they said that Rockstar had taken a lot of photos of LA for it to be really well made etc. So with that line it got me thinking about when 3 Rockstar Games workers in 2010 (well it was uploaded then) traveled to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas & San Diego where one of them was the level designer. This used to be the link to see a lot of images from their trip http://www.flickr.com/photos/rosswallace/c...57623803148118/ but it has now gotten removed. In those pictures we saw a lot of buildings, environment, cars etc and there were many images where the cars & buildings where really close up, and which also appear in the V trailer 1 & 2. Then again Ross Wallace is a photographer so for it to be a lot of images from their trip on just anything isn´t really that strange, but it´s just when I read that line it kinda felt like that was why they made that trip, to get tons of images for inspection and creativity to be creating V. I´m sure they used some of those photos from LA in V development. So my question is, could a DLC with SF or LV be made? I really don´t believe that SV & or LV will be in with a DLC, but could it be done on these consoles even tho with the map so big as it already is? John The Grudge
I think that given the size of the map in GTA V, if they release dlc it'll likely take place there. Like in GTA IV they may aim to give the player a different perspective on the game's setting through another character. I hope that's what they do because it worked very well in GTA IV. WhiskeyFoxtrot
Guys, he's asking if it's possible for those two cities to be added with DLC on current gen consoles considering how big the map is. He's not saying they might be in the final game or not. It's just a technical question, that I don't have the answer to. So my question is, could a DLC with SF or LV be made? epicluca
This could be done, like Skyrim/Fallout DLCs added new Citys. There could be an entrance to SF and LV somewhere and theres no way to get in, then DLC unlocks it.

In that case, I guess it would be possible to add new cities, but you'd have to go through a loading screen to get to it. Is it possible to have another city added onto the map, and still have it be load screen free and completely open? Can the hardware handle something like that? Whether or not Rockstar is going to do this is irrelelvant, it's more of, is this even possible. I'm sure everyone replying with simply 'no' thinks the OP thinks LV and SF will be in GTA V, which is wrong.
MikeMyth
A city takes long to make. I doubt it. No need to diss they guy, it's a simple question.
Space Cowboy
BTW how can this be even made? I can imagine unfinished bridge to San Fierro with sign in the end saying "You need to buy DLC to unlock San Fierro"

There have been dozens of discussions about whether additional cities could be added as DLC and the consensus is always no. The main reason being that it take ages to make a decent city and DLC doesn't bring in enough money to make up for that.

Anabolic
It's not gonna be a DLC, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a separate game called GTA: Las Venturas / Sin City one day. Vice City was a huge success and it's possible they're gonna do something like that with the GTA V franchise. Miami? Las Vegas? San Francisco? Who knows. Just shut the hell up with the NO NO NOs and think outside the box.
Kirsty
The way they are making out GTA V to have the biggest map to date, I don't think they'd put all their resources into creating an extra city just for DLC. We have the described size as bigger than IV, SA and RDR, plus we can even go underwater. DLC is meant to be an add-on, so then there's the technicalities of how would we go from one city to another seamlessly. I'd rather other cities be their own game with lots of detail in the future. Kifflom112
Erm, no... You don't really understand how much work goes into making a city the way R* does it now, and how much space that uses, would be a HUMONGOUS file to download. And does any thought really go into this thread, really, lol? First of all, what would be the need for the city? R* is not going to waste valuable time making something of absolutely no relevance. And seriously, two big cities as DLC? Retard? Yes. Huge downloads, and it would take a LONG time to develop these cities. Unless, of course, you want a half assed city. So chances of there not being a SF and/or LV DLC pack, 99.999999999999999999...%

Having done New York and LA, I can't see Rockstar considering San Francisco and Las Vegas important enough to feature in their own games: surely GTA 5 will allow Rockstar to say everything they need to say about the west coast and America in 2012/2013. kj2022
I'm fairly certain the entire map for IV (PC) was only about the same size as EFLC on consoles, so it's possible, but the budget and the time it needs make me say no.
