1200 pounds

545 kg.. for the rest of world with the more civilized system moto_whistle.gif

Yeah, I was happy that one of my favorite vehicles for driving not on roads is returning. And it looks awesome. Hopefully there are enough desert hills/sanddunes.

I wonder if we can customize this type of vehicle? It's very doubtful though.. we even don't know if normal cars are even customizable or not.

Yeah yeah, we use kilos in Finland too.

Kyllä. Yes. turn.gif

Yeah....That's why the rest of the world is just soooo far ahead of The U.S. in anything, huh? sarcasm.gif

Well in most cases, yes? dontgetit.gif

OT:

I'm very excited about the dune buggies. I have two(in real life), one is what's called a rail, basically, it's just a chopped-down VW with a 1700 dual port. The other is a street-legal buggy with fiberglass body, it's a single port with a 1600 motor in it. We run'em a lot here where I live. Old VW's are the greatest vehicles ever made, IMO. But we use mud tires(I'm not in the desert) on the back, and tires like what's on the front of a tractor on the front. Weekends are a blast!

Don't act like your country is far ahead in anything, too.. also you have to admit that this measurement system is indeed "retarded" compared to the metric system. Well, at least from my point of view.

But whatever, don't wanna start a war or so.. you mentioned that you own two of these buggies. How are the handlings? Anything similiar like a normal car?

I really hope it will be very different.. like really challenging.

Do you know what would be great, guys? A race in the desert with these buggies. With weapons attached. Like in the movie Death Race with Jason Statham, I think..

I Lol'd. Historically being a nation of immigrants, the "Retarded Arbitrary United States" is an extension of the "rest of the world" given our diversity and influence from abroad. So if anything, you are seeing the flaws from your own ideas indoctrinated into the US culture such as our criticized measuring system that started in Europe to begin with. rolleyes.gif

OT: The dune buggy will be fun with the new physics and more rural areas. However, what's really going to be nice is the new Huntleys and other SUVs in the desert.

How old was the U.S again? You've had plenty of time to develop your own culture. What you're saying is like saying all Australians are criminals. sigh.gif

Ok, this is a topic about the dune buggy, not a topic about country supremacy, so all of you just shut it, seriously, no one cares about what you have to say about what your country has and the other doesn't, or whatever about measuring units (same goes for my fellow Americans that are basically doing the same thing, just forget about it).

On topic: I wish that the bandito would perform like a real dune buggy, but like someone else said earlier, it would need those paddle tires to get that extreme traction on sand. But it should still be pretty fast nonetheless.

Ok, this is a topic about the dune buggy...

Quite right, let's try to keep it on topic!

I hadn't seen the pic in the OP, how long has that been around? Looks fantastic! I loved the Bandito in SA. Looking at the 'canyon' pictures with Trevor/railroad-bridge etc. it looks like the same windy riverside dirt roads are in the game.

This, gentleman, is Bandito Country biggrin.gif

I hope R* includes the Imperial sand dunes! They're located just South East of the Salton Sea. I'll be tearin' those suckers up in a buggy dude.

My grandpa actually makes buggy parts for his home business. He also has a dune buggy, with a twin turbo Acura Integra engine in it. I was with him once when he raced against his friend in his dune buggy, MY GOD that thing launches. I don't think I've ever felt more G's on launch in a car before or since. I've even been to speedzone where they have those propane powered dragsters that go from 0 - 70 in about 3.5 second. Those paddle tires really are the difference in grip for dune buggies.

Right on! And the wheelbase is so wide they just don't flip. They can drive sideways on a dune that has a 45-degree angle and not flip sideways. orly.gif

Dune buggy races are going to be epic. Racing in general is gonna be epic. I can't wait to see what race courses are available for the buggy. I hope sand gets kicked up and makes it hard to see the track. SOOOO STOKED! lol.gif

Man, I'm pretty excited about the dune buggy returning! It would be nice if car customization made a return, and you could buy dune tires for certain vehicles. The dune buggy will obviously have it automatically, but changing the tires on things like dirtbikes and fourwheelers to make them go faster in the dunes would be great.

honeslty i don't think the sand rail in the trailer will have too much power, looks like a vw powered rail cry.gif i would like a v8 powered sand rail, and a new version of the SandKing blush.gifuser posted image

I would love a proper sand rail...

I should know, we stalled or ran out of gas on that one huge sand mound (mountain?) at Glamis once, and tried to turn around to coast back down so as not to be in the way, only to get stuck completely sideways, lol. I'm pretty sure that a SUV or truck might have flipped if in the same situation.

I'm kinda surprised there's no thrill over the dune buggies since there's one in the trailer.

I'm thrilled, just havent talked about it.

The Bandito was my favorite land vehicle in San Andreas, and I'm extremely excited that It'll be back in V.
