GTA V for PC only "under consideration"!

"GTA V is only confirmed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Why not the PC, Wii U and so on?

Everything else is up for consideration. That's all I can give you. The main thing is we are not... we are a third-party publisher. We're not Nintendo, we're not Sony, we're not Microsoft. We love all of them in different ways. But we can do what we want wherever there's the appropriate business opportunity and chance to find a market. If that's on Apple we put something on Apple. Wherever it might be. I think that's the fun in what we do. We see ourselves as a content company that uses technology. We don't make it; we use it to make the most fun stuff."

I'm a bit shocked about it even though I'll get it for PS3. Doesn't look to good for PC I guess.

Going by Rockstar's history with past GTA games that have launched on consoles, its a near certainty that we'll see a PC release. They probably haven't announced anything to get the most possible sales possible on consoles. I'd expect them to announce a proper PC version two/ three months after launch.

What did you expect?

"Yes we also have a PC Version that will be completed about same time as the consoles, but we need to keep a secret otherwise no one will waste money on the rest of the stock of the outdated hardware for this Christmas, clearing the room for the new incoming hardware".

I don't think so.

They won't do the same mistake twice, "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me". If they pull out another GTAIV shty port, they will lose a lot. Without forgetting the fact that those first screenshots aren't from any consoles, unless they have a secret release prepared for Wii U, which I doubt, but like I said all is "under consideration" so he is basically saying that even the Wii U is under consideration, when they clearly stated that they would do it.

Putting WIIU and PC in the same speculative group ' under consideration ' isn't good. WIIU would be a fail venture, but sounds like it has just as much chance of being made.

The only reason houser said what he said was because the PC version hasnt been announced yet dude.

Well Rockstar did not say they will not make the game for PC they only said that Now they are concentrating on the console version Of course they will make the PC version, I think after 3-6 months after the release of consoles. Because GTA IV and Max Payne 3 was like that. But I don't know about the Wii, because there is not even a single Grand Theft Auto game on Wii.

BullworthAcademy.

I don't think it's a good idea to assume Rockstar isn't going to release V on pc considering all other gta games have been released on PC.

I cant say this for sure but I am sure Rockstar realizes that there is a small but strong community for any pc version for GTA and I'm sure they wouldn't want to wreck it the idea of V coming to PC.

Welp, One can only hope that they will make the game, and hopeful it will be well optimized. If this game doesn't come to the PC, I guess GTAIV will be my last game. sad.gif

Why like that bro ? why can't you just buy a new console it will be cheaper that a high-end computer to run this game. But Well Rockstar did not say they will not make the game for PC they only said that Now they are concentrating on the console version, so they will do like what they did with IV so no worries. biggrin.gif

I personally get 15x less enjoyment playing on consoles. For some reason, five and a half buttons and a couple of joysticks constrain me quite a bit.

gta is meant for consoles anyways

This, and PS exclusive, like it used to be wink.gif

Imagine what Rockstar could do if it were PS3 exclusive? All that space on the disk? Optimization of the cell chip, It would just be epic!

Ah well, we all have to sacrifice for multi-platform gaming I guess.

I'm actually quite the opposite. I don't really like playing on the PC without a controller (or for racing games, my G27 steering wheel). I like having the controls right there. Sure, there's less space, but it usually (for me) is easier to keep track of what controls are where. Some pc games use the directional keys, some use WSAD, and then they make all the other actions somewhere else on the keyboard. Not to mention, I kind of don't like using the mouse. Some people do, and find it more accurate, but I like using analog sticks better. Though, it's probably because I've pretty much always used a controller of sorts for gaming. Be it on consoles or on the pc. Not to mention, even if there are some left over actions, I can just stick them on the keyboard and make them easier (like WSAD or even the space bar if it's just one simple thing).

There's just not enough demand from the PC market for GTA V to make it worth porting. The average PC gamer has nowhere near the required specs to play even Max Payne 3 on high settings. I have what's considered high-end Alienware and that only just manages to run MP3 on high but needs MSAA off (otherwise the framerate is ultra crap). I imagine a port of V would be just as sh*t... If not, sh*tter...

Don't lie DICKieM. Max Payne was perfectly optimised for PC, most of the gamers can run it on high settings with no problem... I quess the same will be with V.

One thing: if Rockstar can make GTA V scale well and be playable on low end all the way to high end systems, then the game will be a success on PC. Casual gamers stayed away from GTA IV because they knew the game would run like crap on their systems, and it was true. It was even true for those with decent gaming rigs at the time, and on high end rigs the game still is pretty unstable.

Rockstar cannot afford to make another bad GTA port. Either do it right or don't do it at all. If you do it right, you get good publicity and allow a much larger user base to buy and enjoy your game.

GTA IV sold 700,000 units on PC: http://www.vgchartz.com/game/25503/grand-theft-auto-iv/

The game has sold almost 20 million on PS3 and Xbox 360 combined. That is about 3.5% of the market, but still a huge number nevertheless.

If Rockstar sells enough on consoles in the first month, the company will probably be even more inclined to develop a quality port for the PC. They just need console sales to cover the cost of the game plus more, and the PC version would bring in the extra cash.

There seem to be a lot of out-of-context requotes of the now-infamous "Under Consideration" reply... it basically meant that no platform had, as yet, been ruled out. That's good commercial sense if nothing else... and if we want to see the GTA franchise survive then we have to support its ability to make money, surely?

Can Wii U handle GTA V? It can eat alot of storage memories.

The Wii U will have a multi-core processor, 1GB of available system RAM (very good), 1GB modified AMD E6760 (1GB is standard for this GPU, and is preferred for 1080p content). The only problem is that the CPU, while being multithreaded, is not quite as powerful as those in the consoles. The GPU, however, is more powerful and efficient, despite being a couple years old. The console should be able to handle the game as long as Rockstar can offload a good amount of tasks to the GPU.

Dude, calm the f*ck down, seriously, stop posting like a 14 year old. I know you want GTA V on the pc (I do as well). But honestly, if it isn't on the pc, it isn't on the pc, if it is, then it is. Learn to let things like this go, you'll live a much better, happier, and stress free life if you learn to let small things like this not affect you.
