Just curious. I use a cab on occasion, pretty much whenever I don't feel like driving.

For me it's the other way around. At first I drove a lot in IV, but eventually, when I just wanted to see how the story ended, I started taking more and more cabs, only driving when I felt like it.

I used them a lot when playing the story line. I felt too lazy to drive all the way from the ass end of LC and back and through all that traffic and plus I wanna go through the story fast enough. After I finished the story then I go driving around on my own. But with V having a more scenic area, I might just save my money from taxi cabs

With GTAV and the 3 protags, you can jump to the other side of the map by switching between them. Will this eliminate the use of a taxi for you?

For me it's only occasionally. In IV, sometimes I just wanted to go across the city and not have to drive right across to the other side. Hopping in a taxi is easy enough, and you can skip or take in the sights as you go along. A lot of glitching in it though that I hope is fixed for V, it was really annoying when they'd constantly crash and somehow lose the ability to drive in a straight line.

Probably not. You can never be sure exactly where they'll spawn when you switch to them, and if the map is 5x the size of IV, then there's still a chance they won't be that near to where I want to get to.

I will take a Taxi to get myself to a mission that is far enough away when I am enjoying a couple story missions during that play session. At times in IV taking in the backseat sights and sounds while in the Taxi is pretty fun.

I only use the taxi system occasionally, only when I use to drink in GTA IV cuz driving drunk in that game was a pain in the ass and trying to evade the cop while driving drunk got real annoying especially with this games traffic spawning system

Almost always when leaving a safehouse. I usually pick a place for criminal activity, take a cab there (skip the ride, pay extra), and start stirring sh*t up. Usually drive whatever I've stolen back to the safehouse when I'm done. I almost always stay at the East Side apt that Roman bought, and walk straight out the door into a cab.

...it really depends on the map size, if the map as big as they say - then it seems i will use taxi's like always OMG, i know i did in Saints Row 2, because map was quite big and it was pain getting from one edge of the map to an opposite, so taxi's made a good use of in Saints Row 2! however with this whole three protags "thing" i think traveling through map from one edge to another would be less complicated due to each of the protag being in three different places...

In gta4 I used them all the time, partially cus driving true lc from one side to another takes a long time and partially because I had no idea where to go. Yes ofcourse there is gps, but looking at a line all the time instead of knowing the roads yourself is boring imo.

I think I'll use the taxi less in gta5 because I don't mind driving through countryside/desert, it's way more open which I like. And I'm gonna turn gps off
