Run CMD with Run as administrator C . copy ( dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /Source:e:\sources\sxs ) in cmd : (( /Source:e:\ )) e = your DVDrom D . Press enter and wait to install net framwork 3.5 ................................ 4 . Install DirectX SDK Juan 2010 570MB 5 . Before I upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro (64-Bit), I´ve played GTA IV to 100%. And every Island was free. But when I upgraded, I saved the wrong files (Users\Documtens\Rockstar\GTA IV). Now I know, that the right files would be in (Users\AppDATA\Local\Rockstar\GTA IV\savegames). But it´s too late ;-( When I installed GTA IV on Win8 there were some Problems. When I started the game, the SocialClub Login came, and after clicking on "Start Game" - the PC checked the CD - and then NOTHING! So I had to install the GFWL Client. Suddenly GTA IV worked properly. But I don´t like to play the game again (I´ve already played it 3 times through!), so i looked for a 100% savegame - and i found one. BUT: When I copy xlive.dll to the GTA IV files, it´s like before installing the GFWL Client. It won´t start! So I´ve tried other Versions (xliveWrapper, CopyXlive.exe....) but every time it´s the same proceture! I can start GTA on Win 8 Pro but after logging automatically and successfully into Windows Live nothing happens. It just stops at the legal bla disclaimer. I can still press POS1 and get into Windows Live and everything, so it does not freeze or crash. It just stops. What do you guys think I can do? Thanks for your help. It didn't help though. The first two were already installed. The GFWL Update wasn't, but didn't change anything. I installed a "xlive.dll" into my GTA folder, now I can't even open Windows Live with POS1 anymore, but that's intended, right? Anything else I can do?
