'PC version is delayed purposely' my theory

^ console sales of games that are multi-plat will always outsell PC.

Honestly, all of these PC threads are akin to the nutcases who came up with the ridiculous numerical release date theories months ago. It's childish. If you're a PC gamer, then you should've anticipated a later release date. Get over it. Does it suck? Yes. But was it expected? It should have been, so suck it up, and if you truly love PC only, then you shouldn't have trouble waiting the extra few months. If not, buy a console version like the rest of us 'peasants' and enjoy it from the start. All these threads and petitions won't make R* do sh*t for you. Once again you're given R* free press and getting more people to look into the game who are only casual GTA fans.

PC gamers will just pirate the game, so rockstar will force them to wait, it's all apart of the plan

This is true. You can guarantee the day GTA5 comes out on pc there will be around 20 torrents for it online. Rockstar is just being smart.

and the torrents for console games are there BEFORE the release day so what is your point!

Piracy on consoles is far less widespread as it is on PC. On PC just download a game, then play it. On consoles you have to go a step further by modifying your console to play pirated games, and most people don't want to do that.

On PC you dont just download and play it? If it is your first time cracking/downloading a game online you wont have a idea what to do.

Some torrnets includes winrar files witch needs to be extracted and then run the installer.

Other requires a .iso program like Daemon tool to run

And others simply have a installer with them.

But the truth is that its not so simply that people think it is. People here seem to think you just download and run the installer.

Also when you are done there can be alot of annyoing errors and you may have to update the game pluss you defently need to replace game files with a crack.

Extracting files from a rar archive, and mounting an iso is difficult? People can google this stuff.

The fact of the matter is, a lot of people are willing to deal with that stuff than modify a console.

It's not really hard at all once you know what to do. But new people get confused with what rar and iso is and how to use it.

But yes its not so hard.

Why would they make the PC version of Max Payne 3 so good, but leave GTA V out and just leave it as "under consideration". That doesn't make sense to me.

PC gamers (me included depending if the multiplayer is sh*t or not) will pirate the sh*t out of the game. Some (idiots) pre-order the game on consoles because they don't know if the game will come out on PC. I'll just wait till the game is released and if there's still no talk about a PC version I'll buy the console version. Pre-ordering is for farmers who live in the middle of nowhere where there are no big stores who have like 200+ copies on stock. Those people are better off buying the next farming simulator.

This is the funniest thing i've read on this site icon14.gif you made me laugh

Are you just making stuff up, or can you provide with a source for that statement?

Copies of GTA IV sold according to vgchartz.com;

PS3 - 9.41m

X360 - 9,90m

PC - 0.70m

That chart has been mentioned before.

It only counts for Retail sales. Not Digital as many vendors do not release figures. Which were a majority of PC sales happen.

Original Light

PC gamers will get the game, but not at the same time as console gamers. If not, this will be one of the first large GTA Games (meaning LCS and VCS not included) not to be ported to the PC platform. What I don't get is why didn't they do this to Max Payne 3, maybe because it's not as large as GTA?

If V's specifications are anything like IV's...well no casual user is going to pirate the game i'm afraid, 90% of computers won't be able to run the damn thing.

Even if the port is good you will still need a good computer to run it decently, most people don't have PC's like that so they'll just stick to the console version. This logic is pretty dumb actually.

It's simple and straightforward

All people have a computer but not all of them have a console ,  so all console owners have a PC (lets assume) . Now if they announce on the first day that they will be releasing the game for PC , PS3 and  XBOX 360 then some (or a lot) console owners will go like "Its being released on a PC too , fine i will just get it from the torrents for free " , thus killing the game sales for Rockstar .

Now when they declare initially only the console version then there wont be this above issue for them , since the console owners dont know that there will be a PC version or not , they will straight away buy the game for their console .

The FIRST time I played GTA: IV was 1 month before the release date, and that was on an XBOX 360

Yes, I can torrent the feck out of PC games, but GTA IV will only allow you to play the main story and not online once pirated! I bought mines on Steam sale. So yeah, I pirated my Console version and bought the PC version legit.

All these topics. So funny really.

Tell me the last time a GTA got released the same day with the console version. EVERYTIME THE PC VERSION COMES OUT AFTER 6-8 MONTHS.

What's the problem this time? Is there anything different?

I think all of us at one time or another have pirated a game. Sometimes it's because the game company doesn't release a demo and we never know if the game will even run on our PC. But there are some game companies I will always buy from regardless of any demos and one of them is R*. They have always delivered and I've felt I've always got my money's worth. That's the key for me. Did the money I spend equal or exceed the fun I had playing the game. Even through GTA IV was a poorly optimized port, the multiplayer always had me coming back. R* will always get my money.

No it's not because you wouldn't buy the game in the first place because you're too poor. 1 download doesn't = lost sale. Most indians, south americans, africans don't buy the game as they're poor but they're starting to get internet acccess and make up most of the pirated downloaders.

Whatever. That was because Xbox was never as successfull as PS2. Things are different now with PS3 and 360. 360 has sold the same amount with PS3 units {PS3 70.2 million, 360 70.1 million}.

If GTA IV PC sales affected Rockstar's policy in the first place, then we wouldn't have Episodes From Liberty City, LA Noire and Max Payne 3 on PC, right?

For those judging from Red Dead Redemption, just remember that Red Dead Revolver wasn't released on PCs either. Something else is going on with the Red Dead series.

dude, we all know this!

I just wish R* would announce (PC Version Delayed Indefinitely), so all the torrenters would buy it for console, then a month later be like (Oops, PC Version Out Now).

Waiting 6-months is BULLsh*t!!!

I always buy the game for PS3 and then torrent it on PC, solely for mods. I only torrent games I won't buy anyway (I prefer PS3, but also want to mod, torrents are the perfect solution). But people who torrent new games like V without a valid reason besides not having to pay are just assholes.

Pirating is not stealing, it is copying something with copy rights.

At that point, the wording is all semantics. The bottom line is people who pirate games (or any form of media, for that matter), are using copywritten property without consent of the owner (i.e. the game developer/publisher). What a lot of people don't realize (I'm not saying you do or don't, just general observation), is that when you purchase a video game, digital or hard copy, the only thing you "own" is the plastic disc and the game case. What you're paying for is the RIGHT to use the software created by the developer and to be used as intended.

I think people should pay for what they want. People who pirate games/music/movies come up with every excuse in the book to justify the fact that they should be able to get it for free. It's no different than if your boss decided not to give you your paycheck for a week because he wanted some free labour. People and companies should be compensated for the products and services they provide, and since most of the world's monetary system is based on a paper standard, that compensation comes in the form of money.

Are you actually SERIOUS? Do you know hoe many CONSOLE game there are on pirate sites? You seem to be ignorant of that fact.

My guess is GTA V will be pirated for xbox 360 or playstation 3 in just a few days after release , so please..STOP SAYING IT IS BECAUSE OF PIRACY.

It has been proven that console games are pirated just as much as PC games! Some even more that you cannot get on a PC...RDR come to mind?
