Now if they announce on the first day that they will be releasing the game for PC , PS3 and XBOX 360 then some (or a lot) console owners will go like "Its being released on a PC too , fine i will just get it from the torrents for free " , thus killing the game sales for Rockstar . Now when they declare initially only the console version then there wont be this above issue for them , since the console owners dont know that there will be a PC version or not , they will straight away buy the game for their console . And I don´t pirate good games, I buy them to show my support to the company. If everybody pirate games on PC games, they wouldn´t exits. But the OP is correct when he says that potential PC pirates might be persuaded to actually buy the game on console because they don't want to wait so long, not knowing when, if ever, the game will release on PC. I'll just wait till the game is released and if there's still no talk about a PC version I'll buy the console version. Pre-ordering is for farmers who live in the middle of nowhere where there are no big stores who have like 200+ copies on stock. Those people are better off buying the next farming simulator. The amount of piracy on consoles isn't even comparable to the amount of piracy on PC. It's all about percentages. PC has less users than console, but more pirates. That's exactly the problem. I have all three, ps3/360/PC I have black ops 2 on all platforms.. when I played on pc = 45k users ?? ps3 = 187k users and 360 = 218k users ( wednesday 14th Nov ) - haven't played on pc/360 since. I know its a different game etc etc and I love my pc, but maybe its a dying platform in R* eyes and they are focusing on the 'higher end user' platforms which would be consoles. will I be shocked if GTA5 doesn't come out on pc... yes... do I think it will come out ? yes.. but at the moment they are focusing on the console which they have said many times. Yeah, it's more a case of PC sales probably not being a top priority to Rockstar than some scheme to drum up console sales (which they don't really need to do.)
