People thought GTA IV wouldn't come out for PC either, yet it did.

Those were quite different times.

People thought GTA IV wouldn't come out for PC either, yet it did. What we should be concerned about is if the PC port is ass like GTA IV.

Yeah, GTA IV was announced for PC 3 months after the console version. I don't think that GTA V will be a bad port like GTA IV. They did it well with Max Payne 3 and they know how to handle the engine so why should they go back their old routes? It would be very foolish to make another bad port.

Rockstar Games never focused on the PC versions of any of their games, we all know this. Probably some third-party/TOSE like company will make the port, or maybe some new interns.

Wait what? you mean you don't expect a release on PC AT ALL?

http://pix.playground.ru/download/gallery/...61e33d1fead.jpg

No, I'm saying that some 5-6 years ago R* had kept silence about the PC version for years. They only mentioned it a few months before the actual release, making no special deal of it.

It was on August 6th 2008 and the last time anyone at R* even acknowledged that something called "PC platform" exists was during the Hot Coffee fiasco.

A little bit of history, shows how silly I was:-

What I'm saying is - there was no RAGE back then on the PC and chances we would be getting it were pretty damned grim. Today, the situation is very much different.

I bet not a single person was worried about how poorly the game would be optimized at that time. So to me R* is clearly not that multi platform company unlike GearBox who respect their fans http://www.borderlands2.com/loveletter/?x This is why i love Gearbox, Valve and every other game company. (Except for C*)

Zee wannabe? Just because i used the word Cockstar doesn't mean i admire Zee's Idiocy. And besides R* deserves this, On every single GTA V post on any gaming site there is a Disqus comment saying how bad they want a PC and how bad R* treats their fans.

Forums rebellion won't bring us much closer to a PC version. We need to aim higher! Imo tounge.gif

Open a petition here and there, get thousands of people, send out messages to Rockstar, and let them know we can't be stopped.

Ok, but this changes nothing.

I'm sure that all adequate people realize that every GTA will be on PC. And the case is not in engine or something. It's GTA - one of the greatest games in history. In my entire life I have never associated GTA with consoles, it was always a PC game for me.

So the main question now - will the game be released on PC much faster than usually? But your argument that now things are different, because Rage was ported to the PC, is pretty weak, because we have other GTA's, which are always went out with a delay of 6 - 7 months.

So now there is another question: What may have changed and what may force Rockstar change its 10-year tradition and release the game on PC earlier than usual?

It is not weak simply because if the engine is on standby (ex. MP3) then the situation is much better then in it was in 2008 when we had ABSOLUTELY NO news about ANYTHING GTA related on the PC for YEARS.

At the time R* was offering their asses for grabs to anyone with a big fat wallet, exclusives were popping up all over the place and they gave absolutely no information about the PC version. Not even any of the magazines were allowed to ask about it, so yeah, that changes a lot.

Hopefully you can understand this because I can't be bothered to explain it in any more detail.

Makes me wish i was a Max Payne 3 fan more than a GTA Fan, But i guess i just loved the game for its Genre, If III didn't exist neither would AC exist, GTA has always been a PC game, R* fail to realize.

Halo 4 - 3 mil. sales in 1 week.

Diablo 3 - 6.5 mil. sales in 1 week.

Talk about PC piracy and PC not being profitable market.

Yes, I understood what you mean. I'm just saying that I have never doubted that the GTA will be on the PC, and I've never thought that the new engine will be a barrier to this

They don't care about that sort of thing. It's business like i keep repeating all day and past shown that the old ways brought them excellent sales so i doubt they want to change it. Even in the interview Houser said that they are looking for the right audience which here is unfortunately on PS3/Xbox 360

Hate saying this, cus i'm loyal to PC 100% - it's just concrete truth with Rockstar sadly

It's business

It's stupid business.

R* is the only of the major companies stupid enough to keep following these practices.

Some delay the PC version of their games for 2 weeks (which I kind of understand why would one choose to do something like that), but most (a lot smaller companies) manage a simultaneous release.

Why do they do that? Out of warmth of their collective hearts or because of maximizing sales?

Releasing a port 6-8 months after the console version is pure idiocy. To have the nerve and pull the piracy card after doing something as stupid as that is equivalent of sticking your head into the lion's mouth and kicking him in the nutsack.

Guys, read this, from RDR not coming to PC confirmation:

We've got bad news for you and your custom-built, Western-themed PC gaming rig (complete with tumbleweed HDD and whiskey-distilling cooling fan). Rockstar has confirmed that Red Dead Redemption is not coming to the PC. In a Q&A on the company's blog, Rockstar explains, "All we can say is that whenever it is viable (technically, developmentally and business-wise) for us to release a game for PC (or any other particular platform) – we will and we usually do; unfortunately, that is just not the case 100% of the time for all platforms."

The post adds, "To PC gamers, we hope that between the Grand Theft Auto titles, and the forthcoming L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3, you'll have plenty of great Rockstar action to enjoy." Just, you know, no cowboy action. Which is like, the best kind of action.

So... they are talking about GTA titles and L.A. coming to PC, unlike RDR.

This is from October 6 th 2011. Means that they are not talking about GTA IV, they are obviously talking about the future: GTA V and so on.

Indeed it is, it's getting too annoying by now but question is what the hell can we do to get the PC release sooner rather than later?

It doesn't matter that much if the GTA V trailer was from the Sony or Microsoft console because it will look like the same on both consoles.

Not exactly. Don't you find it interesting that they're using the PS3 this time round to demo the game/take screenshots with it/make trailer using it wink.gif.

So without starting a console war, your indicating that if they are showcasing the Ps3 version, that is obviously looking better this time???
