Just that they we're very heavy with a lot of body roll.

Personally, I liked it. Found it rewarding to finally pull a perfect handbrake turn.

It's going to be the same, just tighter turns and wheels that grip a lil firmer.

Im sure there will be plenty of roll overs and such.

I think driving is one of those things that you can really only decide if you like or not once you start playing. The trailer is not even actual gameplay, it was mostly cut scenes so it may appear different. We might be able to tell that cars seem lower to the ground and have more grip but we need to play to actually decide how good it is.

Some cars it wasn't even close to easy to pull them off.

The Stallion was a bad ass ride but it couldnt handbrake for crap for example.

When you really love something its scary to hear that it might have changed.

I remember when they said in IV you accelerate with R2 or RT (depending on your poison) and we all went 'Ermagerd! That wont feel right!'.

GTA III/Vice City : Nice car physics.

GTA San Andreas : Better car physics than the first two.

GTA IV : Better car physics than the first three.

Why do I have to worry about the car physics in GTA V?

They are probably going to be perfect.

If they are "ruined"-- actually how could it be ruined? -- I would just adapt to it. Just like when you have a new game you would most likely adapt to the controls. Plus when has R* ever led us wrong with GTA? They may have, I haven't been a GTA fan all my life. But with driving? No, driving has been fine since GTA III. I never had a problem with it. Of course the handling may be a little different for some of them, so what? Just get used to how the cars move. Like people who weren't used to GTA IV's handling then got used to it? After awhile you realize what you are doing wrong. For instance if when you attempt to drift and the car rotates to much, you know not to push the analog stick (more or less) left or right when going to drift. As I said before, how can a game's car handling be ruined?

White Hot Speed

watch the way the car swings around after it falls off the flatbed truck at 49 secs. the physics look f*cking awesome

I imagine the modern sports & supercars will have tighter grip & stiffer suspension, to make cornering a little better. I'm sure some of the older muscle & sports cars will be a little harder to control at speed. At least I hope so.

GTA IV's driving was quite unforgiving but when you got the hang of it, the frustration was replaced by satisfaction. It was more nuanced than every other open world game featuring driving & I hope that won't be lost in this game.

Thats a Sabre. Also boat like is a fairly inaccurate way to describe the handling. Boats lean into a turn, ships lean away from it. So you could say the cars in GTA IV handled like ships. Bit of nautical knowledge for ya. wink.gif

I almost feel bad for referring to it that way because of how much i f*cking love the driving in IV. And yes, I did create an account just to post that. Long time lurker and that was what pushed me to register...oh well now i can put my two cents in all the ridiculous arguments on here.

No. People should have more trust in Rockstar. I remember all the IV fanboys complaining that "This isn't San Andreas 2, there's no need for character customization". Yeah, well this isn't GTA IV 2.0, so no need for the annoying driving physics either. Time for them to move on.

It's time for you to shut the f*ck up is what it's time for. You are obviously 5 and belong on Need For Speed.

It's time for me to shut this topic down. If you don't like opinions that differ from yours, stop making silly topics with equally silly titles.
