i dont think that they will change driving physics too much, imo the driving in IV was great and they just need a little improvement

No. People should have more trust in Rockstar. I remember all the IV fanboys complaining that "This isn't San Andreas 2, there's no need for character customization". Yeah, well this isn't GTA IV 2.0, so no need for the annoying driving physics either. Time for them to move on.

OP. How is this topic a "heated" topic?

Some people are concerned because of Rockstars statement about the car handling being changed, However, Looking at Trailer 2, the physics seem to be pretty good.

Does not look arcady at this stage.

I'm not worried about anything in this game at ALL, I seriously think that this will be the best gta ever.

Mark my words.

SA had cars that felt like cardboard boxes on ice, and I still enjoyed it more than IV.

In other words, no. V will have excellent car physics I'm sure, but even if it doesn't, I don't care about it the way I do when I buy racing games.

Why would they be ruined? They are being improved. GTA has never been, and never will be, a masterpiece when it comes to car handling. The type of environment, content and the hardware just haven't worked together well enough for them to really get vehicle physics perfect. But now they seem to be really serious on improving in that area, and given that they will need to completely revamp the physics engine anyway to get the flying, skydiving etc. to work properly, then this is their opportunity to focus on driving as well. It's not a simulation, so I don't know why people are complaining that they have some MCLA dev's working on it, the driving wasn't bad at all in that game.

Just be happy they're working on it. Anything from IV can only be made better!

Do you seriously think they are going to do a total 180 on their driving physics and just import physics from Midnight Club?

Everyone would hate it, we know it and they know it.

Despite the seemingly popular opinion on these forums, the guys making this game aren't retards.

The choices and tweaks have been made by (mostly) the same design team since III, and they don't have a bad track record so far.

Trust them, they know what their doing. They won't f*ck it up by turning it into Mario Kart.

Hope your poll helps you sleep easier.

It's time for you to shut the f*ck up is what it's time for. You are obviously 5 and belong on Need For Speed.

No.

GTA IV boaty feel wasnt the best but I liked the realistic feel.

Sam said it was due to the physics and tbh GTA IV is still one of the best realistic driving games to date.

The fact they are reducing the 'boat-like' feel of GTA IV while keeping the heavy collision physics, I welcome the change.

Honestly Looking at the 2nd trailer and listening to houser say that it will be a more burnout style driving. From that I think the physics will be exaggerated but fun and the driving to be the same way. I think anyone who enjoys driving fast will enjoys this game just looking at the trailer 2. The car damage modeling looks good too. what do yall think about the damage modleing?

Sweet, I was worried. smile.gif

It's going to be a lot like GTA IV with a less boaty feel.

I have no idea why you are concerned. They haven't screwed it up to date and tweak it every game.

GTA IV's vehicles were very 'heavy' and swayed alot.

Turns were very wide and not tight... very realistic, but could have been a lot tighter.

In GTA IV you had to plan every turn because of the way the physics worked.

Let me explain.

In GTA its important for R* that they get the crash physics, the crumples and the weight of the cars.

They are detail whores, which is a good thing. I wish more companies were. They want to be the best at everything.

Crashes, physics, roll-overs must look and feel amazing.

In GTA V they took what most people said about their physics (big boaty feel) and they tweaked and improved the physics to allow cars to feel more tight and stuck on the road.

This will just make the driving funner for noobs and veterans alike.

There will still be big weighty crashes and dents, thumps when running over peds and realistic roll overs. It doesn't mean that it will stick to the road like other games, he means they figured out and improved the physics to allow a tighter driving experience.

GTA IV's driving was a learning curve, this one should be a little more consistent with GTA:SA, but with all of the physics and details to boot.

Rockstar knows driving.

Just that they we're very heavy with a lot of body roll.

Personally, I liked it. Found it rewarding to finally pull a perfect handbrake turn.
