I don't appreciate you saying I'm pretending.... because by you saying I'm pretending, your calling my whole family fake.. not everyone is a whiny 12 year old wigger wannabe thug... people actually are in gangs for many reasons.. it can be generational (family been in a gang for decades so you become one through them) or based on where you live... gangs can be both positive and negative yet the media only focuses on the negativity... not ever member thinks about killing someone and is quick to pull the trigger like the media says. A lot of them are intelligent people who actually don't want any trouble and just want to make money to support they family... sure u might have niggas who are trippin off sh*t and try to make a name for themselves by peelin caps, but most niggas look down on that.. most shootings are either revenge or if someone gets too brave in the wrong place at the wtong time.. there are rules people gotta follow in gangs just like everywhere else.. ogs teach discipline and order to the younget generations. I made a post not long ago about staying away from the hood(gang life) and it's not for me to tell you what to do and if your family or someone close is involved or apart of that life I apologize as I don't know where I'm coming from on the subject and to be quite fair I only posted what I posted because I was saddened that rockstar forgot to make the gangs better than what they were in GTA IV, I still play it and have a hell of a time outrunning russian gangsters and hanging out in the wrong hood will get you killed quickly but I digress and maybe someday rockstar will include more gang related content in SP dlc or next game of theirs.

When you are playing single player, go to the bleeter website and try to find the Feud bleeter, go to the bottom and you'll read a post of a balla saying something like "thanks for handing us out Grove street" not really thanking the Families, but mocking them. So it seems it really seems Grove was part of Families in the past, as confirmed by Lamar too on Hood Safari dialogue.

 

You get to find a sh*t load of information just by going in the website in-game. You also can find more about the story development on the character's life invaders and their friends, their sites will continuously update as you progress in the story.

A few things that happened with me,

 

I actually got on sighted by Ballas, no word of a lie. It was probably a glitch though.

 

I was playing as Franklin and caught a cab to his Grove Street lock up, as soon as I got out the cab words were exchanged with some Ballas who were sitting on the wall.

 

Next thing you know guns are getting brought out and I put a few of them down but had to run away coz there was like a million red dots on the radar.

 

Anyways, I manage to escape and a good 10 to 15 in game hours (real life minutes) later I went back to the garage to get a car, no Ballas were around as I went in.

 

As I was coming out in my car, the Ballas who usually hang out across the street outside the 24/7 store on sighted me!! literally had about 10 guys shooting at me so had to speed off.

 

Thing is I didnt do anything to aggravate them at all, and this was a good 10 to 15 minutes after the altercation I had with them earlier in the day.

Also, I think I know why gangs dont attack each other. Rockstar programmed them to be ONE big gang, as dumb as that sounds.

 

I had a shoot out at the infamous intersection where the petrol station is. I was obviously shooting as Ballas, but then Carson Ave started shooting at me even though I was knocking down Ballas. Not to mention theres been times when I've got into it with Ballas and Vagos will take their side and start banging on me.

Its no different than a native american/african tribe in concept. You forget that humans have always had a mob mentality, and such behavior has been ingrained in human nature. We can take this back to the days of the jim crow laws, the salem witch hunt trials, the hatfields and the McCoys, rival caravan groups during the time of the silk road trading routes, the different clans of the edo period in feudal japan... you act like gang mentality is a new thing... sure it has mutated throughout the decades, but it still can be traced back to both its roots in the survival mechanism of humans aswell as the urge of belonging

 

Besides, I'm in college... Im a highly educated latino male who was raised is such an enviroment yet still came out ahead of the game... Whats your excuse?

As I said, its part of my heritage. let me put it like this... If a child were to grow up in a family of soldiers, would he be more likely to become a soldier himself? whether it be for pride of his family heritage, A sense of succession, or just the environment of which he was raised in; He will follow his families lineage and most likely become a soldier or he will sink into a deep depression brought on by not being able to continue his family's militaristic tradition with the feeling of regret that he let his family down and will most likely commit suicide or just leave his family behind...

 

It can also be summed up in the phrase "When in Rome, Do as the Romans do."

 

Does it make more sense now?
