I did play GTA IV, and I went out and shot in gang territory and all I got was a couple of Goons shooting at me with Pistols and ocassionaly a Shotgun.

 

And why the hell do the gangs in V need those kind of weapons? The AI literally turns you into swiss cheese in a couple of seconds.

 

No, in GTA IV it depends. Most times gang members in IV will pull out a nine most times whenever you provoke them into an attack, but occasionally they will bring out SMGs or shotguns. Russians gangsters will sometimes use AKs. There is nothing to question about this. I've played the game many times to check out stuff like this.

 

Gangs in LS need those kind of weapons because it reflects reality, because LS gangs are direct re-creations of LA gangs. LA gangs are very well-known for for drive-bys with AKs and SMGs, and the Chicano gangs especially are very well-known for walk-bys with shotguns.

 

Vatos carry a whole lotta sh*t.. but you gotta remember the likelihood of you seeing every banger strapped with a chopper or a smg is unlikely.. i think too really alot of smaller gangs have the heavier firepower more often as they got bigger enemies to deal with so get the big sh*t..

 

but yeah it aint just m9s that vatos be packed with..

 

i think a cool little feature would be to have cgf members with choppers n sh*t on the balconies..

Who would like to see a british set GTA?

 

People that dont think it. Britain gets bad with crime from Manchester to London.

 

And it isnt disneyland either. I personally would want one set in London or Manchester IF we were to get one set in UK.

I really, really do. English gangs don't have the same feel as American ones, British crime is more gritty and dirty, and while it is not on the same level as some American cities, Britain has a vast and brutal underworld.

I think it would have to be set in London, so it doesn't completely alienate international players.

I've got so many images of it in my head. It should be set in modern times, and try to focus on all the many layers of Londons gangland. It will have a dark and gritty theme, like that of GTA 3/4 and have a bigger focus on crime than V; it will also tackle dark subject matters that face modern England, such as poverty, class and race.

You'd play as a black man in his mid 20s, rising through the ranks of Londons gangland. At first you'd be running with the local street gang, selling drugs (like in CTW), mugging people and fighting with rival gangs. At this stage you wouldn't really be using guns, but fighting with fists and after a certain mission, carrying a blade. The fighting system should be greatly revised, with the brutality of The Last of Us. One mission will see you and your gang chasing a group of rivals through an estate on BMXs. Another will see you and your gang in a huge fight with a parody of the EDL. Another will take place in a large rave in an abandoned building, where you first shoot someone after they stab your friend. This would be the first quarter of the game, and will show your gangs brutal war against its rivals on a neighbouring estate. This will culminate in you kidnapping and brutally murdering their leader, winning the war.

With this, the rival gangs suppliers, a brutal gang of Turkish heroin smugglers, begin to work with you. You have your first taste of higher level crime, doing major drug deals, fighting a gang of Yardies, who are expanding from weed to heroin. Guns will be more frequent now and rather than staying within your estate, you will now be all over North London. One mission will involve going with three Turkish brothers to a crack den where you brutally beat some crack heads and have to chase one along the river, where you gun him down. Another will see you and your gang raiding a Yardie grow house, with a large gun fight amongst the plants. Your gang is making a name for itself and you end up betraying the relatively small time Turks in favor of working with a gang of Irish dealers based in a popular night club.

You are now getting into the big time and the third quarter of the game starts with your gang going on a rampage of drugs, fights and girls. However, after all the fun, you realize what you've gotten yourself into when you have to brutally murder a drug dealer and his wife in a restaurant. You begin to have doubts about your life but the Irish are ruthless and you must continue.

 

Basically this is all I wanna write right now, but if you guys liked my ideas I might make a concept topic.

This. I wouldn't mind that. The series made a gta London before in the very first games, so I don't see why they couldn't make an had version. Liberty city, vice city and San Andreas were all featured in the first gtas and were remade into the the recent ones so they might make a remake of the London.

 

I remember playing The Getaway long time ago set in London and it wasnt that bad and it had its gangs in it. Only thing I couldn't wrap around was driving on the other side. sh*t bugged me out.

And i saw loads of sh*t. this is when Gooch gang and doddington were going at it crazy. like 20 odd murders in 5 years due to that 1 rivalry.

 

And yeah but london. if they made like a replica of the city though. and not present day with the grittiest estates knocked down, I.E Heygate and Ferrier.

 

Just the thought of it being like real life. gangs based on real gangs. rivalries real. historic. Like the PB and GB rivalry that has gone on since the 70s.

 

Or other things that have happened in the past like the tottenham riots. I dont know where you are from but if you dont know what any abbreviations mean just ask.

I 100% agree with you on the crime sense. Americas crime seems more distant. However in UK i think it is alot more up close and personal. Like there are more stabbings than shootings. And British gangs dont drive by and spray ak47s out of a car. Sure yeah bystanders do get hit. But not as much as US.

 

And the citys most notorious areas should be exaggerated. Like Brixton of south london. Many people think that is Londons South Central due to the news they hear of it.

 

Like the grimey areas exaggerated. East end for example. Image of being the 'dirty end' of London.

 

And the radios. No classic, american sh*t on them all. some real london hood sh*t. Grime.

I'm gutted that it didn't have the same set-up as gta SA where we fight for areas and make a lot of money out of it. Except I kind of hated the fact that an area would constantly get attacked. So it would have been nice just to have one off fights for areas and the rival gangs didn't try to reclaim their turf.

@Soda and Soap. Yes of course. But its getting the access to the guns and stuff. Guns are legal in some states in the US. getting a gun in UK is hard as f*ck. But im not saying it is bad on a worldwide scale. At one point London was named worst city in Europe/Western Europe. And to people that think it. Europe isnt all disneyland and wannabee gangstas. Alot of people that think like that havent actually been to any of the places they think of like that. And really you only know what happens in your own city in a local area if you are actually from there. For example i couldnt say any local sh*t going on in South manchester now because i dont live there now. Whereas i could say anything going on in South London now because thats where i am. Plus Its not all publicised on the news like in US. UK has an image of a nice place where you grow fruit in your back garden and huge semi detatched houses. And they wanna keep it like that

Thats just ONE rivalry. In 5 years. The ETG RSC has gone on since 1979. Im not tryna show whos harder here but most likely the worst gang rivalry in history RSC and ETG that rivalry had around 30 deaths just from that. Just throwing that out there you know....

 

Plus that was only manchester. Manchester as a whole is probably half as dangerous as London on a gang/ crime scale

Listen up, I'm from London. I know about London's streets, and it's ghettos (or the closest it has to it). I can tell you now, especially to my American brothas, London got many street gangs and gun crime. Sh*t like that really does happen around there. There are street gangs in London, they are predominantly Black and they do the same stuff that the street gangs in the U.S. do, they slang drugs and other gang stuff, and they have gang wars which involve shootings and stabbings. The thing is though, it's just nowhere near the scale or intensity compared to the gang culture/activity and gun crime of even a medium-sized American city, let alone a large one. London has certain traditional organized crime and mafia-style elements too, but once again, it's nowhere near the size and scale of what happens in U.S. cities. And even though many gangs do use guns in London, they are all illegally imported, as guns are still very hard to come by in the UK - the UK still has very strict gun laws. Stuff like that just rules out London for me.

 

London would be cool for a separate, open-world crime game in a slightly different vein to GTA. But I really don't think London would be suited as an actual GTA location. I just think GTA belongs in the States.
