EvilFuture Posted November 13, 2012 Share Posted November 13, 2012 This is my first post, so don't be too hard on me So, I was just reading this GTA article on IGN, and then I seen something that caught my eye. Discovery of weapons is slightly different though, as the GTA producer explains: “Weapons are slightly different since we have to find a balance between giving the player freedom and giving them a challenge. Letting players have any weapon they want, whenever they want it, would make earlier missions less of a challenge and less satisfying. That being said, as the player makes progress through the game they will build up a satisfying arsenal.” Does this mean we may not have any cheats? Usually we can use cheats and get the weapons at the beginning of the game, but the way this is worded makes me feel like there might not be cheats. They also said about jets But such a move throws yet another handful of new questions into the mix – is the player restricted in any way, and how to do prevent someone near the beginning of the game getting their hands on the coolest stuff? “All vehicles will be present in the world from the start of the game, but they won't all be driving through the city waiting to be stolen,” says The Benz, continuing, “If the player wants to get their hands on one of the more ‘high end’ vehicles early in the game they'll have to work for it. For instance, airport security won't let you just wander in and steal a jet, they'll give you some serious opposition.” so does this mean if there IS cheats, there won't be any fun ones like weapons, and spawning cars and planes and stuff? He's just talking about playing the game without cheats, he's not going to describe game-play with cheats. I personally never use cheats the first time around with GTA games, or any other games really. After I beat the main story or come close to 100% then I'll start the game over using cheats having fun using rocket launchers and whatever I usually don't have access to in early missions. tenpennyisplainevil Posted November 13, 2012 Share Posted November 13, 2012 I don't use cheats until done with the story or far enough with the story to have unlocked all of the guns, but imo they shouldn't keep players from being able to cheat. Cheats will be available, just like always. Probably more than IV had. In the game informer, it said there would be the largest arsenal in a GTA game to date. foxmulder1984 Posted November 14, 2012 Share Posted November 14, 2012 I really do hope that the cheats won't be game breaking (i.e. achievements being locked or game saves being corrupted), I like using the cheats after beating the game but I'm paranoid since IV. RedHound88 Posted November 14, 2012 Share Posted November 14, 2012 Game like GTA V, will always need cheats, actually cheats is a tool for beta testers and developers to test the game more than just something fun for us gamers I'm sure they don't like to talk about cheats in the beginning, because cheats even it's fun might ruin the fun factors and challenge aspects of the game. They talk as if they removed them from the game, and quite frankly for how big the map is, I don't know how the game wouldn't crash if someone was using cheats like that. Except RDR because of that whole saving issue. This I allways go though legit and then cheat it up, occasionaly doing Cheat playthoughs, and of course non cheat runs again as well. I'm sure there will be cheats TC, I just hope there's more this time arround. I mean why would R* talk about cheats this early in the info train? I mean IIRC they never really mentioned cheats before any of the other installments came out, and if they did they never went into detail about them.
