Original Post:

Don't you think this is a bit short for a game? GTA IV was about 40 hours long and SA was 50, did the spend longer doing the map then the actual story?

GTA IV had a Trophy/Achievement for beating the game in under 30 Hours, which most of us have! My first time to 100% GTA IV was 96 Hours, which I consider a Healthy Amount and that included exploration time, but on average playthroughs after, it was always around 16 - 20 Hours to get the story and a good chunk of side stuff out the way.

I repeat what i said to the other guy who made this topic.

25 hours for just going through the main story and nothing else is massive.....

now take in to consideration of everything else in the side missions/free roam and online.

Please complete this game (100%) in 25 hours take a picture and come back here and tell me the game is short.

Thank you.

Why do so many of you misunderstand what they mean by 25 hours?

The WHOLE game isn't 25 hours, the main story arc is.

You still have every side mission, each individual character's personal missions and not only that, but alternate story paths. You will be playing this game for hundreds of hours.

Not to mention, I bet 90% of all of your game time is spent playing AFTER the story.

Honestly, calm yourselves. This is the first GTA to have ACTUAL replay value without repetition.

It also has R*s biggest map to date. So I'm sure you'll be f*cking around a lot between missions.

This is a bloody big game, you're underappreciating it.

A 25 hour long linear game, isn't great.

A 25 hour long open world, GTA, motherf*cking Rockstar game.... Well... Whole new ballpark.

Quoted from the thread in the News section, and he's right; it means just the main story, one mission after another. I did GTAIV's story in roughly this time just last week. So stop worrying/inciting sh*t - delete where applicable.

Ok bare in mind that the average time taken for the Story Mode on Black Ops two years ago was 6 - 12 hours. That's because Multiplayer was so important. But multiplayer is just as important in V by the sounds of it, and we have a 25 hour storyline. Maybe even longer if you drag it out a bit.

I was kind of underwhelmed when I first read it, but then I thought about how having 3 different perspectives may add diversity and replayability to the missions.

Exactly, rougly times it by 3 to represent everyone's perspective and the story can go up to 75 hours. I'm major excited and 25 hours is loads compared to most games these days; hell, in all of gaming history, bar RPG's.

There's no way they built a map that's up to 5x bigger to put a shorter story in it.

Deal with it. Rockstar spent 5 years working on switchable characters and making an eye-candy LA - meanwhile lacking all the features, story depth and requests the community had.

It is 25 hours, mission after mission. If that's all you play GTA for then you have every right to be dissapointed for wasting a great game. But for the people who actually play GTA how it's supposed to be played, it will take much longer than 25 hours.

Don't blame R*, the story all depends on how you play it.

Assassins creed 3 was apparently 25 hours long and i beat it in around 12 hours

Assassins Creed 3 was apparently 25 hours long and I'm still playing after 51 hours.

What!?!?!?

What can I say? There's a lot to do in that game. I reckon it'll take me another 4-5 hours to complete the game totally. I'm currently going back over those missions where I missed the optional objectives. It was the same with RDR: the story took me about 30 hours, but doing everything took me about 50.

Yes indeed... I've done everything, in less than 25 hours, and I will probably never play it again, what a dissapointment!
