Personally, I think this Cheetah looks too much like the real thing for me to treat it as a "fake" GTA car.

The IV Sentinel looked so much like an E46 M3 but people still enjoyed it. What's the problem?

Hands down my favorite GTA V car mod so far. Cheetah as it should have been. We seriously need more car models like this.

 

 

Damn, this is torture! I want that beauty so badly, f*ck that modern super car Cheetah we have, this is the real deal. Guess R* wants to hold it back for a new VC... at least I hope so.

 

Though I have to say I don't like the 90's Testarossa front that much. Should have either used the original Testarossa's or the Cheetah's front which looks pretty good too.

I agree. It has a 512TR front and I much prefer the Testarossa and old Cheetahs. Still good looking though.

I also like this mod. The classic Cheetah blends right in with other cars in gta IMO. I also like classic sports cars so this mod is exactly what I want. I wish to see more like this mod maybe a classic; dominator, infernus, Baller etc. or even modern cross breed cars like a gta version of a Porsche 918 .

What rockstar should do is in gta vi(6) is recreate vice city but make it set in the 1980s again but with HD characters in their youth. But most importantly have all the cars classics. Classic, issi, dominator, Baller, infernus, cheetah, comet, gauntlet, sentinel, schafter, the list is endless. As well

as include the current classics in gta v like the coquette, Stinger/ GT, stirling Gt, Monroe and so on. Any way that's just my opinion because modern miami isn't as better as 80s miami

Am I the only one who hates the Stinger? It's just hideous, the styling is chintzy and cheesy. If they bring a Stinger back it needs to be a 365 gtb/4 and gts/4. That would be waaaayyyyyyy better than the current Stingers.

The regular Stinger is meh. A nice classic but a little too, "exotic" I guess?

How do you like my Venom Classic from SR2? I'm yet to emulate this car look on a Coquette Classic. To be honest, if the Venom had more correct proportions, then it'd be a very sexy car for GTA:

It looks pretty nice, however I never got the artstyle they chose for SR2. The colors look washed out and the characters look like they're made of plastic.
SR1 is my personal favorite, for the cars, artstyle and soundtrack. Even though it's a total bugfest.

I don't really like how the overall graphics style looks but I appreciate some of the better looking cars in the game. Venom Classic, Phoenix, Bear APC, Bezier (still better than Entity XF), Bootlegger, Hammerhead are the first ones that come to mind.

The original Bootlegger looked good. Hate what they did with it in 3 & 4.

The Phoenix was real cool, it was a straight up perfect modern concept for a 3rd gen Firebird/Trans-Am.

 

Compared to some of the V cars (Yeah, I'm looking at you Gauntlet.), the SR2 cars have better styling in a way. Every single on has it's own badges and extra parts, and they all have similarities and strong portrayals of what they are but are never direct copies of real cars.

I dare say Saints Row 2 cars have soul like their brethren from GTA IV. I enjoy driving a car like Stiletto where I have a choice of many sports cars like two kinds of Lamborghini, some Mitsubishi Eclipse with butterfly doors look-alike, some Mercedes SLR McLaren look-alike, muscle cars and the like. Okay - the handling usually sucks but there's a ton of variety.

Although there are few manufacturers in SR2 (the same producer makes a Lambo and a septic truck), the cars are detailed. However, let's not forget that there are also cars that are plain ugly in SR2 (Superiore aka discount Lamborghini Countach, Zomkah aka Jaguar rip-off with ugly Chinese knock-off-like front end), but it usually takes some thought into pointing out the really ugly cars in this game.

 

Later I might be doing a comparision of cars in Saints Row and finding their relatives in GTA.

PS. Anyone else having problems with loading the topic? This thread and "Grand Theft Auto III Pre-Release Discussion" I can only view after the second try (if I'm lucky), but most of the time I get empty page.

Speaking of Gta5KoRn's cars, as much as I appreciate his work on Sultan RS, IMHO it would be much better to turn the original Sultan from V into a coupe (using Sultan RS from IV as reference), adapt all the tuning parts (add sideskirt exhaust too), rev the characteristics up a bit (to match the difference between Sultan and Sultan RS from IV) and add it as a separate vehicle.

It replaces the Buffalo - are you sh*tting me? That's almost as bad as the Presidente that replaces the Asea or the Hakumai that replaces the Fugitive.

I'm guessing that is a Vestige of IV's Modding where you generally had to Replace Vehicles instead.

It is a bit easy to make custom DLC's for vehicles, but the amount of things that can go wrong can make this a real chore. I did try putting a DLC pack to add on vehicles - including custom in-game name - and ended with these results after 2 hours of editing stuff. I can see why people would rather replace cars instead of add them on.

I had it installed before. It was a solid mod. It needs to be converted to V for sure.

 

Do me a favor a check that page, theres a sh*ton of great modded GTAIV vehicles to add (to IV ofc). I filled my game with those and they looked incredible (most of them are pretty much glitchless from what I remember)

Theres a 4door Sentinel, a hatchback Sultan, and a miriad of similar mods.

 

@RM76 yeah I wont replace anything thats for sure. But since the Cheetah mod came as a fake DLC, I believe it shouldnt be that hard to somehow include it in there, we would need to edit most of the files inside though.

I think we should make a fake dlc mod to act as a base so we can install all the new cars we want in there w/o having to replace anything. What do you guys think?

 

EDIT: Wildbrick posted while I was writing my post and missed what he said.

 

Yeah I can see the chore it is. i myself tried to rename the cheetah 'dlc', spent like 30 minutes checking everything was correctly renamed and when I try it, the game went to a loading loop lol. Must have forgot something but i didnt want to fix it because, like you said, its a chore.

 

But just like I said before, I think if we all of us start working on this, we could end up with something decent. A fake DLC to act as a placeholder where each time we want to add cars, we would have the pieces of 'code' ready.

Also i wanna know how to add ingame vehicle names. I know I have to edit the language.gxt and somehow add the name hash on it but its in hex and im not too familiar with it. It should be possible somehow.

Quick question seeing as you are into Modding; is there an 'amercan.gxt' that has all the Vehicle Names stored in it, similar to GTA IV?

Yeah there is actually. And each dlc has its own american.gxt from what I know. so by that i have some faith we should be able to create our own somehow.
