Aaaand Rockstar messes up yet again. Apparently, the Skimmer is actually called Dodo. Yes, that's how messes up it is. By the way

 

A host of new, exclusive content also awaits for players returning from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions including rare versions of classic vehicles to collect from across the Grand Theft Auto series such as the Dukes, the Dodo Seaplane and a faster, more maneuverable Blimp;

That might mean there are also other vehicles returning.

Yep, keyword is "such as".

I don't mind them swapping some names around as long as they remain consistent throughout a universe. Since "Seaplane" is capitalized, maybe there'll be a regular Dodo as well. But we'll see.

Now if they brought back the Stallion and made it into a lettuce or something, then I'd be angry.

I believe Dodo was a grounded bird, which made sense in GTAIII, but using this name for a seaplane is a bit off. How about an Ostrich for a jet.

If we take the phrase literally, that would be interesting... As I said in another thread, I'd love to see a car from GTA 1. Go further back to the roots than Z-Type.

How about the Bug - like Panto, it's been waiting to appear in 3D ever since III.

Wasn't Stallion available as a convertible in III? Don't remember well.

It's from a collection of pre-release renders mocked up as shots of the game's world (hence the pretty advanced lighting). The red car could be a Panto, but can't tell much as it's not the best quality.

Again they mentioned "improved damage"... curious what they mean by that.

 

And unless they fix the suspensions, I could care less about the Dukes. Where's the fun in taking it off dirt jumps like the Duke boys if the suspension doesn't bottom out when you land?

I'd really love a Bug in GTA V, maybe with some references to "The Love Bug" ( stripes and numbers as tuning options)

 

It is weird they didn't already added some car that resemble a Fiat 500. They did in GTA 1 with the FAT. It's presence would make sense now that Fiat bought some American brand.

As I said once, they could give us a Bug using the BF Injection's model as a base - and it would be the car on which the BF Injection is based on in-universe.

If they were to add a Fiat 500 now, they could brand it Schyster the same way Panto is branded Benefactor.

Mmm Schyster would work..or maybe they could use a new brand (Fat as I said before).

 

I am even waiting for the "Ocelot Windsor", a classic Jaguar E - Type and maybe a "Grotti Super GT" as a Ferrari Daytona replica.

We even miss the Club, they could do a replica of the Golf MK1 "Rabbit"

Depends how they pull it off. Branding it as Schyster sounds realistic if they were to add it now as a gimmick car in an update. However, if they were to hold it off for a next game or something they could come up with a new brand.

I can imagine the in-game description though. "Italian car distributed by a German-owned American company"

The V Sentinel was sh*t. And they should've made the coupe version look more like a coupe rather than copying and pasting the convertible's metal roof and then making it a hard-top. Also the Sentinel, even the XS, is slow and sounded terrible. The M3 E92 is not a slow car and it sounded beautiful so I don't know what the f*ck Rockstar was thinking. They always manage to screw up everything car related. It's like they had a bunch of morons, that didn't know a thing or two about cars, working on them.

Can't believe there are people that say V's damage system is a crock of sh*t, well, I can understand for frontal crashes. But under the right conditions, it can be very beautifully realistic

I got smacked by a truck in my Oracle II last week. It was totaled. I'll never complain about the damage in V again lol.

Usually NPC cars are weaker. My Coquette did the same thing to a sedan yet the front of the Coquette wasn't even dented.

It's exactly the same as it was in LA Noire, wheels only drop off NPC cars for gameplay reasons. Although in GTA V they do much less often.

Only a more realistic game like Mafia I allows things like this to happen to you.

I'm pretty sure I've lost a wheel in car accident before. I could have just stolen one with a missing wheel though.

I'm pretty sure I remember losing one too. I think certain crashes can make you lose your wheel, but it's very rare.

And as I said before, it's not the damage system in V that's bad, it's way better than IV. The problem is, since the damage to your car is so weak, you can abrely see it in action unless you suck really bad at driving or want to damage your car as much as possible.

I said it once, the engine for it is excellent but design choices are strange. Cars just have extremely high health. It reminds me kinda of Gran Turismo 5 and 6, where the premium cars had fully modelled damage and could actually lose parts, but even a head on collision at 400 km/h resulted in minor dents and scratches, so losing something like a door took a lot of beating up.

At least on PC it'll be possible to adjust those.

The choice is not strange if you know what R* had in mind. It was simply suppose to work like this, because nobody likes to lose, right?

The damage modelling and system itself is fine, it's just it takes too much effort to get there. You shouldn't have to be hit by a plane doing 150-200mph to get the same damage as a rollover or two in real life.
