Anyone know what plane is that in this artwork?

Maybe AT 400

It could fit. The contrail points to jet engines and configuration to a civilian airliner. AT400 (B737) is the only playable plane from the past that would fit. Of course, there have been other airliners used as setting in various GTA games.

 

One more possibility exists if we look at this artwork. Note the plane in the sky. The artist chose to draw contrails despite the plane most likely being the same two-engine airplane we see Trevor taking off on in Trailer 2. If the contrails don't imply a jet engine, then the silhouette above might belong to Nevada.

 

Personally, I'd be happy with either AT400 or Nevada making a comeback. So this is encouraging either way.

I saw on the gta wiki that someone had written that "Unnamed Sports Car 2" was based on the Lotus Elise and I laughed and changed it. I'm no expert but the car is very similar to the Porsche Carrera GT.. from the front at least.

Could it be Beagle?

Very unlikely. Beagle has perfectly straight wings. I think the artist would have drawn them that way. The wings on the artwork are clearly slanted.

 

If it's meant to be an actual, playable aircraft from the game, it's either AT400 or Nevada. Or something new entirely. If it's meant just to be something in the backdrop, it could be a lot of things.

Really, has nobody read my post? It's obviously not this car. It's an Impreza with 147 taillights and 2 doors.

The overall shape? The Impreza's a large 5-door hatchback, none of the design cues seem similar. Yes, it has round wheels, the roof line might be a tad similar with the way it slopes down at the back, but I just can't see how Rockstar would have looked up a picture of that Impreza, and ended up that red hatchback. I don't see it at all.

But to me those look like someone gave a 5 yeard old kid a pencil and said "draw an airplane".

 

The second one even seems be missing the horizontal stabilizers.

Since the Cuban 800 was seen in artwork and later in the trailer, I guess these aren't just some artistic add-on's.

I'm still not convinced about that. I mean, if we actually rely on features as they are in these pictures, they match none of the airplanes. If we start picking and choosing what we'll call a feature, and what we call artist being lazy or "creative", then it could be just about anything.

 

Like, if we go with contrails as indicators of anything, the engines are very close together. That means fuselage-mounted engine pods. That causes problems with the tail, so there are two common solutions. Either a T-tail, like on Shamal/Learjet 45, or an H-tail, like on A-10. In these pictures, one plane has conventional tail, and with the other, the artist didn't even bother.

 

So it's really not worth trying to guess what these are. Yes, one of them could have been the Cuban 800. If you ignore the contrails and squint a little. The other might be AT400. Or Nevada. Or pretty much any other two-engine airliner from the past 80 years. This really isn't much to go on. Once we have a confirmed list of in-game planes, we can start trying to pin these on particular models. Though, by then, nobody would care, probably. Right now, it's almost as good as guessing without any kind of reference.

 

By the way, do we actually know that PA-30 is called Cuban 800? Or is it just a guess? The thought occurred to me as well when I first saw that plane, but was there some sort of confirmation?

Ok I had a look.. yes the rear does look slightly similar to the Elise but the Front and sides are incredibly similar to the Carrera GT right down to the placing of the manufacturer badge. In all GTA versions of cars Rockstar most commonly changes the rear end anyway so I think the comparasen should be more so based on the front than the back. I treally feel the Porshe Carrera GT should be added to the list (anywhere, if not first) since I have yet to see anything that disproves such apparent similarities between the two.

As has been said already, the front is more-or-less a Series 2 Elise with inner lights deleted and squared-up, enlarged air intakes.

Theres still debate because the front of the elise is very distinctive and looks next to nothing like the car in question especially when compared to the carrera. Not to mention the Pfister (Porsche) badge just below bonnet. The very pronounced curves above the headlights on the elise being the most obvious difference.

Sure you can, you can see a sadle bag on the one in the middle and its obviously not the Wayfarer, but it looks a lot like the angel from vice city as a chopper.

Ok I think youre right about it not being a Pfister logo although it does look like it at first glance the vents are pretty much the only thing linking the car to the elise though and until we get a more elevated shot of the front we cant say for sure if they're the same or similar vents or not

I think thats actually a Futo, the headlights (which are a lil bigger than the BC ones) are similar, and the paintjob at the sides have a little stripe in the middle, just like the Futo

I think thats actually a Futo, the headlights (which are a lil bigger than the BC ones) are similar, and the paintjob at the sides have a little stripe in the middle, just like the Futo

Could very well be a Futo, you're right. I'll take a closer look when I'm back on my computer.
