Well I guess I can voice my first complaint, the barracks looks like a civi truck with camo and thats about it. I was really excited about its return because I own the truck it looks to be based off of in the prior GTA's. (M923)

Damage was NOT exaggerated in IV. In fact, it was not even realistic. Sure, it was a huge step up from SA and the best anyone could possibly ask for in such a massive game, but real damage is like BeamNG's soft body physics. I wasn't expecting that, but at least the same as IV's damage. Now, the cars just bounce of each other and send off sparks with a slightly dented bumper and some lame scratches. Seriously, it even looks more dumbed down than the III era. I know sports cars will handle better, but they were close to perfect in IV to begin with, What I've seen is closer to MCLA and Driver. I'll reserve my judgement on handling until I play, but the damage looks terrible and I'm worried.

There is something that should make you feel a little better. I was watching a live stream where A van stalled, so the player got out and kicked the side of the van, it left a really realistic dent in the side of the van. It was pretty f*cking awesome how accurate it was. Also more pieces come off the cars, like fenders and bumpers.

I saw that too, it was really impressive.

what do you mean social club specialty?

If you link your GTA V and console account to Rockstar Social Club you get some free stuff. Theres a gun, the Elegy, some haircut stuff, and I think a few other things. It's all free, just gotta register pretty much.

Can anyone confirm that the bradygames car guide was incomplete?

Starting to worry that there is no Passenger Plane or Attack Helicopter :(

(Please don't post screens, trying not to get spoiled too much :D)

Yes, the leaked Vehicles List missed some pages (or the Strategy Guide sucks).

I'm not sure, but I don't think we can fly big passenger planes. And about the attack helicopters, I think there are atleast two of them. One can be seen in the Strategy guide (Buzzard Attack version) and the other one at the recent Lifeinvader update (looks like a Hunter).

I don't think you people realize how fragile cars really are. This is a crash test at 25 MPH:

Yeah man that's the chopper I was referring to! I'm not really too bothered about passenger planes tbh, I just wish everyone would stop moaning.

as for the lack of 80's cars - i honestly dont care. i dont live in LA (though still in california) nor do i live near a ghetto, but i almost never see a car from pre-2000's except for your run-of-the-mill camry type cars. There are some cars missing from the strategy guide pics and from gameplay thus far, so just sit and wait. I highly doubt they'd remove the F620 due to its advertisement throughout the trailers/screens, nor the Stallion thats been an iconic car

Fair enough, but what are you more likely? To see a car from the 80's or 90's, or one from the 60's and 70's. I'm not saying take these old models off the streets, but just give us more variety.

Okay I couldn't help myself but watch another leak with the Rapid GT driving and just... I don't know. The driving aspect of V will suck for sure. It looks like Saints Row driving.

I'll try helping you a bit by quoting this guy, who's pretty good at describing things:

How does driving feel?

First off, don't worry, the driving isn't like MC:LA, the closest to "arcade" feeling you'll get, is while driving a tuned up super car as Franklin. The driving is similar to IV, but feels tighter, and more responsive. "Less boaty" would be how I would describe it. Driving differs between the three Protagonists as well.

As Franklin, it's easier to maneuver in a vehicle. Vehicles feel more responsive, turn harder, and overall just feel smoother to control. Drifting, J-turns, barrel rolls, etc, are all easier as Franklin. What do I mean? Say you take a 45° turn at 40 mph as Michael in a small car, you would end up hitting the wall if you didn't slow way down and hand break hard through the turn, as Franklin, you don't have to compensate as much, merely turning and lightly applying the breaks will see you drifting through that corner with ease without having to slow down as much.

So far, the driving's been a lot of fun, less spinning wildly out of control, and more getting to where you want to go. Those of you who want to do some awesome "Fast and the Furious" machinima will appreciate the "super cars." They differ from normal cars, they can turn on a dime, accelerate to top speed in a mater of moments, and drift through 90° turns like something out of a movie. They're truly in a class all their own. Don't worry, if you're a fan of GTA IV driving, the normal vehicles in the game handle roughly the same, just slightly tighter. The big trucks still feel heavy and tipsy at high speeds, and the small cars are light and nimble at low speeds. (Like the Honda civic esque car from IV)

Gives me a little bit of hope. I definitely won't be cruising in free roam as Franklin though. :/

What are you talking about? I can think of plenty of modern military trucks that look like this. It's likely based on a modern Oshkosh of sorts. You gotta remember that this is now 2013, you're far less likely to find the old 5 ton in modern military supplies now. =P

If this is the truth of things then it puts me at ease. I haven't looked at any leaked footage simply because I don't want to spoil the surprise on the 17th, but people's comments have had me more than a little worried :( I'm sure most of it is just moaning for the sake of it....or at least I hope so haha
