I think gtaexpert is right, I've totally forgot about the Shayton, it match exactly the cheetah front, the windshield the lights, the side, the front isn't an Enzo at all and it can't be inspired by the LaFerrari.

Agreed. I think it's safe to say the konsergereregeruirer... and the Shayton. I don't think the Enzo is really implemented in this.

I can't agree with the shayton sentiments simply because that car does not exist. Its simply a render on a screen and looks like it will stay that way. It was a supercar propasal which supposed to start producing cars in 2012 but that never happened probably because they couldn't secure the funding for it.

 

I'm not saying R* can't base their cars on renders but looking at the trend, they normally don't. They've always gone for cars the exist in metal, that you actually see people driving on the road.

No matter how similar they may look (which they don't, aside from the side vent, kinda), there's no way R* took inspiration from some obscure Slovenian supercar. They're recreating SoCal based on the actual sales data. That thing isn't even sold in America.

The Stratum and Ingot both returning for V and took inspiration from cars never sold in the US.

Yes, but the Skyline is well known worldwide, even in pop culture like movies. And the MK4 Passat wagon WAS sold in the US.

 

I would bet my life savings that R* did not take inspiration from some vaporware slovenian hypercar.

@Rollin and suicidehummer: I understand the argument that R* uses cars that really drive around the area they portray and that are actually built in real life and not just renderings. I get it.

 

But you can also use your eyes, and notice how it is so much more similar to the Cheetah than the Enzo. That is what counts for me in the end.

Yeah, but it's more similar than the LaFerrari, and the LaFerrari is an impossibility because it was unveiled months after the Cheetah.

 

R* could use any car to inspire them. The statements about the fact that they use cars that are really in LA probably refers to the common cars. Not to rare cars like the Cheetah. Like you see dozens of Enzo's driving around LA?

Haha well that is one thing, I think they were actually invented to protect whitewalls as they could get scuffed easily etc so it sort of fits with the

hotrod/lead sled theme going on here, Im just trying to find a Peyote on TLAD right now to check make sure they weren't on the standard ones in IV.

I think the Cheetah has a lot of inspirations and I think we did a good job of tracking them all down, but you obviously can't list it as 5 different cars I guess.

In all honesty, I think the Cheetah is now supposed to be the GTA equivalent to those tiny Boutique supercar manufacturers that make like 10 cars a year like Marussia, Spyker, Konigsegg, etc...

I don't think so, we have seen the length of the Granger is that of a Suburban, while the "Sandking" is shorter. Also look at the hoods. The "Sandking" has a much flatter hood that is vented, and it doesn't have stacked headlights like the Granger does.

The blue cheetah looks way better IMO on that last screen she definitely looks like a Koenigsegg

I don't think the Cheetah looks good in red to be honest. It would look better in blue or Pagani Zonda F orange:

 

Orange hypercars are just sexy as hell IMO! The Cheetah would be hot in that color, so would the Veyron SuperSport clone. And I don't know if its just me but doesn't the Cognoscenti GT's back end look a little funny? I mean it looked fine on the Cognoscenti four door but for the coupe you'd think they'd tweak it up a bit to make it more coupe like and sleeker. It just looks awkward like how Cadillac made the CTS into a coupe, it just doesn't look right. That said I like everything else about the Cognoscenti GT. Hope it is a fast sleeper too.
