The Genesis you posted is a good example of a pathetic attempt at being edgy and cool. Or how about the 370Z with those kinks in the headlights that serve no purpose whatsoever?

I see what you're talking about but I disagree. It's just designs that makes the car look unique or better.

Sorry if I went off on you there, I always wanted to be a car designer, so I'm very particular. Bill Mitchell is my idol, so that's where i'm coming from...

I will say that often very beautiful cars come from a form-follows-function approach; though I would apply Raymond Loewy to that as much as I would Mitchell.

But some really awesome cars completely ignore function.

I have a question.

In the trailers/screens.

I haven't seen many of my favorite cars and now like so many cars have been seen, over 100 or something.

Does this mean no car on the list below will make it ? sad.gif will they skip them? sad.gif

Greenwood

Pony

Rumpo (R.I.P ? replaced by BURRITO?)

Hakumai

Perennial (Manana made it, will per do? cryani.gif)

Idaho

Not necessarily. Just means we haven't been shown everything yet. So far, we've only seen flying military vehicles, but we'll obviously have ground units. Same thing with supercars and the types of vehicles you have listed. All will be revealed in due time. biggrin.gif

Seeing a car in person has never changed my opinion on it.

They both have arbitrary lines and shapes that serve no visual purpose, for the sake of being more complex. As a whole they're overwrought and seeing them in person would only confirm that.

I guess that's your opinion but how is that bad? We could go back to the horrid days when cars looked so bland.

Edit: Make sure you know what you're talking about too. Many of the F12 Berlinetta's lines serve purpose. See those black inlets in the front? They cool the brakes. Watch this video thoroughly and you'll see that some of these "irrelevant lines" sigh.gif -- oh the ignorance -- do serve a purpose.

Some cars may have been bland in the '80s-'90s but at least they had attractive proportions and weren't covered in pointless lines.

And ease off the high horse there because you don't seem to know what I was talking about. The brake vents are not at all what I was referring to. I could care less if that hole in the quarter panel gives it a tiny amount of extra downforce that will make no realistic difference unless you're on a track. I'd rather have a car designed to look good, like every classic sports car. I'm talking about the surfacing and proportions.

Take the Viper, every line exudes character and serves a visual purpose, building up to those big rear haunches. It bulges with muscle, whereas the F12 just looks like a bloated chick with bad plastic surgery.

By contrast, with the new Vette, Chevy went from a clean design with great proportions (C6) to a derivative copycat of every other modern sports car with overwrought surfacing. They're just catering to the "Transformer generation" that wants pointless complexity because it's "cool" at the expense of basic aesthetics. This has been a trend on a lot of modern cars, but the worst offenders have been the Japanese/Koreans. The Genesis you posted is a good example of a pathetic attempt at being edgy and cool. Or how about the 370Z with those kinks in the headlights that serve no purpose whatsoever? I could go on forever, but the gaming crowd IS the Transformer generation so I shouldn't expect refined taste here, especially when half of the people here want to go back to SA's handling.

Not to turn this into a car debate topic or anything, but the whole point of racing inspired features is to pay homage to Ferrari's background in racing whether they are useful on the road or not. Before Ferrari was everybody's favorite car brand from a childhood hot wheels set, video game, or racing movie, it was an elite racing powerhouse. In fact, they're still an elite racing powerhouse that transcends the technological boundaries on automobiles and diffuses it's innovations all the way down to the retail road car level.

You seriously expect an organization with the richest racing history in the world to sell out and throw lines on a car just to look cool to people who don't prioritize superior engineering? That's an unrealistic standard considering the time and care that goes into designing their cars. They water their cars down enough for the rap stars, Hollywood socialites, corporate executives, and athletes that buy their cars. Their retail operations are just a side show. Ferrari is really a racing company. They exist for the racing division; Scuderia Ferrari which has been around way longer. They put technology first.

I too get annoyed by Ferrari dick-riding sometimes. But we gotta respect that nearly century-long racing heritage. I also strongly agree with your commentary on aesthetics in the car industry.

Just an FYI if there's any misunderstanding, I wasn't trying to dick-ride Ferrari. I was just saying that the F12 Berlinetta's design served a purpose but I misunderstood what he was trying to say. smile.gif Sorry.

I get that with a supercar they want the best performance possible, but it shouldn't be at the expense of design. A Koenigsegg may be a technological marvel, but I could cares less about it because it's ugly and I'd never be able to use 1/10th of it's potential anyway. Ferraris used to be great because they were actually driver's cars that had a usable amount of power and great styling. Now it's all about track times, resulting in cars that drive like sh*t in the real world. Either that or, as you said, cars that are watered down for celebrities. They don't even offer manual transmissions anymore.

I have heard that the LaFerrari (how original) is the first done without input from Pininfarina. Well, it shows.

I liked the handling in GTA 4, also i never have really liked the 370z either, to me it was just a fatter 350z, i also agree with car makers not putting much into their designs any more either, i like mercedes designs and i think some models are getting better as well as a few other car makers but that is just my taste, and even though i am from the TRANSFORMER generation i like more refined taste in cars as well, much rather a classic then a new car.

what the f*ck guys, this isn't a car wishlist/best car designer/whatsoever thread, this a thread to identify cars we have seen in GTA V media. The last 2 pages were almost solely based on cars you want to return or Ferrari and stuff. There are enough other threads for that.

Everyone has already discussed to death all of the found cars. So unless you are holding a cache of Rockstar confirmed info what do you want us to do?

People talk about cars until we get more actual info to discuss. It's really not hurting anything at all.

^There is no real confirmation for that. It seems that it is spelled with 'C' instead of 'K' on the back of this car, I think that's why it hasn't been added yet.

Actually it does hurt, if someone finds something, it's lost in a sea of crap about people hoping certain cars return... And that is what the vehicle wish list is for.

Has the Serrano not been confirmed yet? My favorite from TBoGT. It'd be weird having one car called the Surano and another the Serrano. Both are made by Benefactor as well.

EDIT: I scanned though the OP again and found it. Thanks Polish_trucker.

In the special edition , there's a sport car called Khamelion, so I don't think there's reason to doubt.

Those two cars gotta be the fastest cars in the game, can't wait for custom both them and see how many speed it does, i hope both two gotta reach 260MPH+ just like the real life Koenigsegg Agera and Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport:

Geh, that Cheetah really does not look anything like a Koenigsegg, except for the rear that could be from a Pagani, Gumpert or a Ksegg. tounge.gif

I belive the Cheetah is not supposed to have anything to do with a Koenigsegg, and they have decided to add all the Hypercars

Cheetah a SSC Ultimate Aero with some Ferrari Enzo inspiration and a Orange Koenigsegg CCR/X? : p

and a Bugatti. I wonder if a Hennessey Venom GT is hidden somewhere in the game. :3

You know it's going to feel amazing walking into one of my Santa Monica Beach house garages and seeing a CC8S, Veyron, and Cheetah just sitting there beautifully. cool.gif It's what I've always wanted in a Grand Theft Auto. I still think I'll be more interested in the grand tourers and convertibles than the hypercars though.

Why would they include some crappy plastic kit-car that no one has heard of?

Yes, I know this. However Azazel was inspecting the shot and seen a 'C' instead of a 'K', which I looked at after i posted earlier, and can kinda make out the K. Besides all that, We also don't know if Khamelion is the model or manufacturer at the moment.

No posts get lost, Azazel tries his best to read every suggestion. And half of the pages in this thread are either duplicates of cars that have been found already or people asking if random cars are in the game and posting huge images.

Marbelle has not been spotted yet. I fear the worst

Neither has the Virgo. That would make an excellent pimpmobile, I'd roll around the city smokin blunts in it with Chop.

Made a rough, quick sig for the Marbelle. Don't have the proper font/font texture so if anyone wants to use my idea/name pun, feel free.
