Edit, just realized. Even the B- and C-pillars look the same. And I really think, the car Michael is leaning on, is the RS6-type sedan.

Question is if the car in the Artwork isn't just an A5, and not actually a car from the game? As you say, it's a straight match, even down to the bumper/fender, fender/bonnet panel gaps, and the design of the headlight. Too straight to circumvent the copyright laws and what not, if it was actually in the game, I reckon.

The red car looks like a copy paste of a real life A5 coupe just for the artwork. Way too many similarites to be an original R* designed car. Wheels are the same, the side mirrors are the same, headlight indicator same and some other stuff.

 

I don't think we'll see that car in GTA V.

Isn't it funny how manufacturars can make slight adjustments to cars (facelifts) yet still Rockstar manages to prevent copyright infringement by their designchanges.

 

I've always found this facinating about their games since GTA 3.

What are you suggesting? That some car manufacturers would purposely or coincidentally give one of their models a Facelift in a way that it could threaten GTA games with copyright infrigement?

Ah. Now this, I agree with.

 

I'm most looking forward to see a frontal view of the Baja Bug lookalike and see how the redesign of such a recognisable car went.

 

Saints Row, the first attempted that, but they tried to hard to make it look diffrent, thus the end result looked like garbage.

I think you're wrong. It's an Audi A5 look alike. It would only be the Audi A4 B6 if it were a cabriolet.

 

I don't think we'll see that car in GTA V.

I think you're crazy. We've have multiple cars in IV that looked so similar to reality. The frontal and rear fascia could easily be changed up by Rockstar.

And the other Audi looks pretty close to the real thing. R* can sometimes get away with pretty close designs, for example the Ruiner and Emperor.

Theirs a possible chance that the Audi parody on the artwork could be at the front a audi looking but the back could be different. sometimes R* mash up the style of the cars

I doubt its the 7F -- speculation name. The 7F is a four door but the car in the artwork looks like its a two door.

We're not talking similarities here, though. The car in the artwork is completely identical to an Audi A5, and thus cannot be an in-game car. Even if the rear was completely different, the mere fact that the headlight is an exact copy of the Audi Dayline LED headlight on the A5, would be enough to flag it for copyright infringement.

Yeah we've had cars in past GTA's that looked so similar to reality but this one is just copy and paste.

 

And about Rockstar easily changing the front and rear, well wouldn't doing that that make it a different car, a car that doesn't look exactly like an Audi A5. Which is why I said we won't see this particular car in GTA V.

 

There might be an Audi coupe similar to the A5 in GTA V. But maybe the artist for some reason did not/could not put that car in the artwork so he just went for the real life car.

lol I didn't say they could change it up I was saying that the actual front and rear fascia could be based off of something else already to make this car not an exact copy and paste of the Audi A5. I don't know why you all keep thinking this car won't make it into the game. Look at some other strong similarities:

 

 

See how strongly similar those cars are to their real life counterparts? And few changes were made to make them different from their counterparts such as combining two cars or just editing small cosmetic things. This is just me but I believe this car will be in the game. Could be wrong but for now those are my thoughts.

Sorry Az, but I agree with Stingray. We can only see so much of the car, and only the very corner of the headlight. The roofline looks different to me, and for all we know, the taillights could be from a MB or BMW.

 

And there are many examples of cars that were damn near replicas of the real deal. Although this would be the newest one, and therefore the most likely to get them into trouble, but I doubt Audi really cares that much.

 

Edit: Also, the artist's interpretation could be making it look closer to the real thing than it actually is. For example, the police car in the artworks looks more like a Crown Vic than the one in the game.
