The Story is lacking conecting tissue, it's just muscle. . Now, you say Ryder 'knows'? I don't think so. Ryder is too much into weapons and using drugs. BS is running the drugs with Tenpenny. This all leads to WHY is Tenpenny 'scared' of CJ? Carl was only '18' when he left town. It is never explained why/how Biran died and what Carl didn't do to prevent it. Carl doesn't appear to know anything about the drug dealing right up to 'Green Sabre'. What was Big Smoke's connection with the Russians? What was Sweet doing as gang (family) leader? Big Smoke could have offed Carl a number of times but he didn't. Which brings us back to Sweet. Who was the target of the Drive-By that killed his mums? What purpose does offing her (as prime target) affect Sweet, other than to maybe bring back Carl? I would expect that if they knew Carl was coming home they as a Family would have met him at the Airport and then driven to the kirkyard. At least all the families I know would have. Of course CJ didn't know about BS involvement with C.R.A.S.H. because he is a bit dumb. Few times we see Tenpenny and Pulaski hanging around BS. It takes CJ time to wake up, even up to the mission cut scene 'King In Exile' where CJ remarks 'Smoke might mess with C.R.A.S.H. but he ain't into no yay' he won't even wake up to this fact that BS is a drug dealer. Yes Ryder is into drugs and weapons but he was in cohoots with BS from the 1st mission cause Ryder preferred to ride the bike paired with BS and they were not that nice to CJ. Why was Sweet the leader of the Grove? Who else was going to do it? CJ left for LC and didn't come back until five years later. The Russian involvement? The mission 'Just Business' is where we help BS with a weapons deal that went wrong. How do I know this? You find out through the mission 'Gray Imports' when Tenpenny talks about 'a lot of cheap weapons coming in since the fall of the wall, Carl' in reference to the end of the Berlin Wall. And, we're back to why was Big Smoke in CJ's home? Did moms have a will? Why did she leave the house to CJ, instead of Kendle, or did she? Why was Big Smoke in the House and not with the family at the kirkyard? Where was the rest of the Orange Grove gang? No Respect for the dead woman? We didn't hear it in the script but CJ prob told Sweet he was coming home. They didn't meet CJ at airport cause Sweet was angry for not being home supporting the gang. Did moms have a will? UNKNOWN I think the house WAS left to CJ, as its our 1st destination. Why BS in the house? Maybe he protecting it from further Ballas attacks or what I said earlier about setting up CJ so that CJ would not suspect anything. The rest of the gang were not even around at the time of the moms funeral. They slowly rebuilt their numbers through the story. Yes I do think they rode bikes to the graveyard, to not arouse Ballas suspiscion. If the Ballas saw them all leaving Grove Street in vehicles, then the Grove cul de sac could have been left open to Ballas robbing them, spraying tags and basically tearing up the place. Arsen Vitiuk Posted November 22, 2012 Share Posted November 22, 2012 There will be a lot of opinions, I guess. Let me toss in my 2 cents. Guys, it's GTA, for hell's sake! And like in any GTA, there will be lots of tiny ambiguities that will have as much answers to them as the number of people playing the game. Nobody will ever know who is actually correct, and I guess that the Rockstar team didn't even busy themselves with trying to give answers to these little details. It's all about speculation and proving that you are right, and not someone else. I'd say "Big Smoke was there because he was there, because Rockstar did it that way!". The same I'd say about all the other ambiguous situations, and focus on playing the game instead. Because San Andreas's story is the most unclear of all the III era GTAs, and it would take a super-genius to put it together with all the slightest details. He's never seen in the inside when CJ arrives, he's not outside with Sweet and company and even when Ryder says "I'm going to get Smoke and some Grove boys" before the Ballas arrive, he's never sighted anywhere. Another mysterious question: Was that Sweet using the Burger Shot toilet when OG Loc was cleaning that place up and started rapping only for the Sweet lookalike to tell him that he sucks? Think about it, the voice was EXACTLY the same, the clothing was similar and they even look the same. "BS:Hey, what's up, y'all? Look who I found hanging around." "Kendl:Carl, hey, good to see you" "Ryder:Why'd you bother coming back?" This means that Big Smoke did'nt know of CJ returning and was in the house for some reason. Smoke also didnt get trouble from Sweet or others for not coming to funeral (Note that Ryder came in), so he definetly said that he got some business to attend. This leaves up to Smoke to plant a bug or look for notes. Funerals usually take some time and Beverly was buried already and no other people was there when they came in so Smoke he was given enough time to look for family secrets or plant a bug to let Ballas listen to CJ, Sweet or others and let them know of Families' plans. Now we are left to another question. Why did he need a bat? My guess is that he needed a bat in case if someone from the families just came in and see Smoke walk around or if one would be aware of him betraying.Last thing, he could just end up in kitchen eating from the fridge. He thought to kill him, escape or greet him. He wanted to kill him but he realized that he could use him and quickly switched to greeting. Then he offered to drive with CJ to meet with his brother.
