SandGlokta
Alright, so I've been playing SAMP for about 2 years now, on this PC, with no problems at all in those 2 years. Yesterday, my PC crashed and my Graphics card died, everything went pear shaped. I rebooted my PC after removing my card, using just the onboard Graphics for now. The problem I'm having is when I go to start GTA:SA Single Player, nothing happens, I click yes for Admin perm, then nothing, like I've not clicked anything at all. When I go to start SAMP, the serverlist shows, and I can select what server to play, as soon as I click "Connect" GTA:SA crashes straightaway with "gta_sa.exe has stopped working". Now, as I said, I have been playing for two years pretty much, and this has never happened before. Here is a short list of what I have tried to fix it: Delete gta_sa.set - Same thing Reinstall GTA:SA literally about 20 times - Same thing I even restored my PC to last week - Same thing. Searched the internet and this forum for five hours straight, everything I tried is the same, no difference. My San Andreas is a Legal shop bought copy on CD. iLiR
That happened to me once when I removed the graphic card and tried using onboard graphics. Installing the original onboard graphic drivers should get your problem fixed. But before installing, make sure you remove all other graphic drivers. SandGlokta
I did that already, just did it again to double check though, still exactly the same.
lil weasel
Have you tried playing the Game without the downgrader and MP mod?
SandGlokta
Yes, for whatever reason, GTA:SA won't even start to load when I try Single Player, no crash or error pop up, nothing happens at all, it's like I'm still looking at the normal desktop. When I try to start GTA;SA through SA:MP, then it pops up saying "gta_sa.exe has stopped working". I'm going to keep trying things and looking for now, if all else fails I guess I'll have to format the PC tomorrow or the day after.
lil weasel
If you have Vista try uninstall and delete the 'Virual Store' copy of the game in it's Hidden Files.
SandGlokta
I'm using Windows 7 - I've read countless problems with it too, but as I said, this is the first problem I've had, and I've been on Windows 7 for ages now.
Spider-Vice
Yes, as weasel said try going on your VirtualStore folder: C:\Users\youruser\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (Or (x86)) ...and delete the Rockstar Games folder is there is one. Even though the problem is more common in Vista, sometimes Windows 6.x kernels save crash files in that folder which the game will read... Dumb isn't it, but see if you have anything there. If not, try installing the latest drivers for the onboard card, SA is probably not detecting it.
