I'd go with L96 as well, at least until we get an actual screen shot of it.

 

And I'm not really sure on the 3 weapons I'd like yet. Definitely the SIG SG 553 as one of them though. Been having a blast with it in BF3, and you don't see SIG rifles in video games all that often. As for the other two, I'll have to think about them.

The only thing that is equal is the muzzle brake lol. Don't you think that it's not enough?

Anyway,it's not true at all that we are going to have the same guns. The AR and the AK series are a musthave in any GTA game, so if we don't count them (that are also totally diffrent from the versions that we had on IV),all the other guns that have been shown are brand new.

From the GI issue: " Grand Theft Auto V also includes the biggest arsenal to date for the franchise". I think that we are gonna get some really good toys to play with

I am a bit disappointed, since the weapons are the same as in GTA IV. They just polished them a bit but there is actually nothing new.

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what sniper rifle that is but there is no exact match.  However I am 100% certain that rifle in that quad artwork is not based on an AR pattern rifle for two reasons.

 

#1 the muzzle device and barrel (someone already said there's no gas tube) (there's also no front sight/gas block) are not compatible with a AR type upper receiver.

#2 that type of stock would not fit on an AR rifle.

 

The gun in question (imo) is a box fed bolt action (there's no traditional OP system such as gas tube/rod) that does not exist as seen in said art.

There are Dif features I'd like to point out about the gun.

 

The stock looks aftermarket like something  you could get out of a mail order magazine for a 22.cal or an SKS to make it accept the AR but stock.

One more thing about the stock,the pistol grip is way to far forward in comparison to any rifle I'm personally familiar with.

The scope is mounted directly to the top of the receiver.

The muzzle brake and barrel just scream Russian to me.

Not being  familiarized with a larger number of bolt actions I took to Google and a  few vary reliable gun forums with all of my observations but had no luck in identifying it,maybe something I have pointed out will help someone do what i couldn't.

Nice call man.. it looks like Rockstar are basing their guns off the airsoft versions again. The Rifle appears to be an L96 with an extended mag and a M4 style tactical stock however this gun does not exist in real life, only in airsoft.

 

It's interesting that the game has multiple pistols.. this could just be to give the player more variety but maybe they're different calibers i.e. 9mm, .40 and .45. This would be a lot better in my opinion since it would allow for more progression with the weapons. GTA IV and it's episodes had different Assault Rifles so there's no change there but the pistols thing is new. What do you guys think is it just for variety or will some pistols be more powerful than others??

They're not, they're listed as possibilities. Maybe a (*) or something next to the names would help indicate this.

 

WRT the unidentified sniper I have been looking around but it is a messed up weapon. Collapsible stock, a G3 style receiver, 20/30 round magazine and the barrel of an L96. Maybe this is a truly custom weapon where we assemble the parts ourself? R* wouldn't go into detail and make players select the gas system or the bolt.... but this is all fantasy anyway.

Cmon guys! IT DOESN'T EXIST even in airsoft (maybe if you build it up by your own). Just tell me how an AR platform can operate without the gas system.

And how can you say that it has the barrel of the L96 that kind of barrel is popular in many bolt action rifles,it's just a normal heavy barrel. The only thing that can be part of a L96 is the .308 muzzle brake typical of Accuracy International.

Guys, the only thing that I'm sure with is that the AR is different from the artwork. In the 2nd trailer it looks to have a Magpul M.O.E AR stock and a rail system.

I can't see it very well, because my GPU is f*cked up and i have occasional slowdowns and low frame rates when i watch videos in HD, good thing you pointed that out for me. Are those AR's based on M4? It seems like that to me.

I don't know if it'a a 416 but I'm sure that it's still a SBR rifle with a rail system and for the ones that were asking,it seems to be a Magpul M.O.E stock.

Yea i think it's 90% 416 but with different stock. I'm waiting for IMFDB to upload picture and give opinion and they are mostly correct, but yea until that i think we have a winner.
