GTA V weapons information

it's definitely a strange mash-up of on MP5 stock, a UMP mag, and a Sig receiver, handguard and barrel.

 

that magazine has got to be 20 rounds by default, it's too short to be 30 rounds.  especially if it turns out to be .45.  I assume it's extendable.

 

I like it.

Does it really matter what words pop up on the screen?

Yes, just like it matters that we get actual names for our parody cars, brands and everything else, and it would have been nice if they were to be referred to by their parody names in the story at some points and/or at Ammu-nation when buying them, would make it seem more authentic. People will call some guns like the Assault Rifle an AK simply because it's basically a carbon copy of a version of the AK, but now we have some weapons that actually look different, just like the cars.

Ah, I misunderstood you, I thought you meant the guns that look like they do in real life. I see what you mean, they should try and make their own names for the guns they design themselves. But saying that we haven't got an official name for the MP5/UMP45/Sig hybrid yet.

But I still hope we will get some more SMGs/PDWs. And AKSu would be awesome. And a proper MP5, not this hybrid thing which just doesnt has the MP5 vibe to me. Since CoD4 Im in love with the MP5 in every shooter it appears. Even used it in MW3 although it was one of the worse. Still managed to own (bad game though)

 

MP5 and AKSu are my favorit weapons of all time. Then comes the M40A3.

 

Give me those 3 weapons in a shooter and Ill play it no matter how bad it is.

The old screens of what is the Advanced Rifle are definitely CTAR 21 but in the Online trailer it looks like a SAR 21. Very confusing.

I don't believe they'll be doing that. In the multiplayer video the bullpup is labeled the "Advanced Rifle" and the second trailer has the LR-300 as the new "Carbine Rifle." Then the KSG is the "Bullpup Shotgun", the Desert Eagle is the "Pistol .50", etc.

to be fair, IMFDB is usually spot on with identifying weapons in most forms of visual media, be it movies, games or a TV series, looks to me like the GTA V page hasn't been updated in a while, if it pisses you off that much, why don't you make an account and change it to your liking?

I've been working on the talk page of the IMFDB article to upload new screenshots. The problem is that there's only a few screenshots of guns that haven't been immediately identified and they're usually not very good ones. Also, it seems like GTA V is going more toward fictional or semi-fictional weapons, which makes identifying them difficult or pointless.

It doesn't really piss me off, but you have to admit that it's ridiculous that they couldn't identify the M82A1, whereas we could in like 5 mins. And on top of that they say it's the same as the L115A3 in the weapon wheel. On what grounds? They're both snipers so they must be the same

I dunno, simply going by both images shown in the IMFDB page, the cheek weld, recoil pad on the stock and the muzzle brake both look pretty damn similar...not indentical by any means, and there's the obvious lack of the bolt action, but at a glance it's an easy enough mistake to make; especially when you notice the page hasn't been updated with the recent screenshots we've seen.

 

however I'm leaning more towards their idea of the LMG being a KAC LMG, the stock is still the spanner in the works, but the FN Minimi series' solid stock is also a different shape. the handguard is closer than the M249's handguard/heatshield combo and the barrel and gas tube set up are closer. it just seems like someone's put an M60 style stock on a KAC LMG.

It might be harder than we think with the weapon customization. At least some of the guns we see may be customized; notice how the short shotgun from the multiplayer trailer looks very much like the regular Mossberg 500 we've been seeing previously, just with a shortened barrel and no stock.

yeah, the full stock on the LMG could be a recoil reduction modification over a standard KAC LMG or FN Minimi Para style tubular stock, that alongside the Magpul AFG could both be recoil reducers; when used they add a certain amount of accuracy when used.
