GTA V weapons information

Looking forward to the IMI TAR21. Will be good to have a modern BullPup rifle, I imagine it will be the 'top' rifle, as the type 56 (AK) is a common 'street' gun and the AR-15 can be bought legally, the TAR21 is a fully fledged military weapon.

They're probably gonna do the same amount of damage, if anything maybe different rate of fire.

BTW anyone can buy a semiautomatic versions of anything. If you want it its out there.

This is f*cking sweet, one of my favourite firearms. Can anyone identify the specific model?! I say it is a XM134 or M134. Does anybody notice the difference?

I'm trying to identify weapon that SWAT is firing from that chopper, but it's too low quality. Anybody knows what's that weapon?

It's a fictional minigun obviously, there's no green small minigun with 5cm drum magazine on the world, at least I doubt it.

Kinda reminds me of chain gun from doom:

I like that they got the size right instead of making it ridiculously huge this time. It's called a minigun for a reason (and not the way you'd call a huge guy Tiny).

Seems to me that this minigun and the submarines are two of many 'expensive toys' that Dan Houser mentioned that we will be able to spend out hard earned money on. Something tells me that these things wont just be lying around behind the Vinewood Sign. I think a minigun like that does exist, in prototype form.

No that is impossible.

Miniguns are huge though.

As far as I am aware, there hasn't been a handheld minigun. Miniguns have a an electric motor to spin the barrels. You need a battery pack or some kind of power source to fire one. Plus they are f*cking heavy and the recoil...

Chances are the minigun is based off of the M134, but modified to make it look like a handheld one.

Only thing i can say for sure with 99% of probability is that weapon has green tan finish.

Do you know the difference between the XM134 and the M134 and on which of both it is based?

The XM134 and the M134 are the same gun. X means experimental, which the Americans use on guns that are being developed. The M134 is the final version, that is then "mass" produced for the military.

Not as big as the one in VC and SA.

Ah makes sense, because in MGS 3 we had the XM16E1 which was also a prototype.

It could just be called a minigun because it's smaller than most Gatling guns, and it could still be huge. For example this is a GAU-8 Avenger from an A-10. Exactly the same principle and mechanism as a minigun but bigger.

But I do agree, I'm glad it's a lot smaller than the one in VC and looks more realistic.

Just so you know, the minigun is a scaled down M61 Vulcan. The Vulcan is a gatling cannon that shoots 20mm rouds, while the minigun shoots 7.62 mm rounds. They also attempted to make a minigun that would shoot 5.56mm, which was called the microgun. GAU-8 avenger, though a gatling cannon, is much bigger and doesn't share it's design. The avenger shoots 30mm rounds.

There was this old weapon idea topic for next GTA, and the weapon list fan idea stated there would be 2 type of weapons - tier 1 and tier 2, tier 1 would be accessible by regular dealers (say, Ammu-Nation in GTA 5) whilst tier 2 would be 'illegal' weapons bought from army-grade dealers and all. Perhaps Rockstar invented this idea into GTA 5 and made the tier 2 weapons have green paint on them, personally I don't really like it but whatever.

Can some one please tell me why some/all weapons have green textures on them? mercie_blink.gif

Currently in the arms market weapons are being manufactured to blend into the wilderness W/O the need for expensive camo dip, by simply variating flat color patterns you have broken the outline of that weapon, That in combination with American civilians constant OCD wanting there gun to be different (1of1),

R* probably thought "what the hell let's follow this trend"
