Welcome to the official GTA V weapons archive, the number one source for everything around weapons in GTA V.

The weapon arsenal in GTA V is organized in a weapon wheel like it was in Read Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3. The game switches to slow motion when accessing the weapon wheel. It includes 8 different slots. The categories of weapons starting from the top proeceeding clockwise are: Pistols, Machine pistols / Submachine guns / Machine guns, Assault rifles / Carbine rifles, Sniper rifles, Melee, Shotguns, Heavy artillery, Explosives / thrown weapons. Below all currently selected weapons, the number of rounds in the magazine and in total is displayed. When selecting a weapon the weapon wheel shows its name, the number of weapons in this category and all modifications in the middle. In addition to that, four bars for the weapon's level of: Damage, Fire rate, Accuracy and Range are displayed in the top right corner of the screen. Outside of the lower right corner of the weapon wheel, a parachute is displayed if the character owns one. The player keeps weapons in the inventory, even when no ammunition is left. The player can throw weapons to other protagonists.

Weapons can be purchased in one of the "Ammu-Nation" stores, that are marked with a pistol symbol on the radar. It is possible to adjust the capacity, stability, accuracy, zoom ability or loudness of certain guns trough modifications. Gun customization includes the following modifications:

• extended magazines

• suppressors
• scopes / advanced scopes
• flashlights
• grips
• 3 different tints (black, army and LSPD)

Fjo2xQl.jpg

The game mechanics are orientated towards Max Payne 3, allowing the player to point and fire from his waist while running, evading hits with jackknifes or combat rolls and taking cover more fluently than in GTA IV.

The reticule switches from white to red to identify an enemy and a tiny 'X' flashes over the reticule when a targeted enemy is killed. There are variable targeting options including free aim, soft lock, and hard lock.

Weapon damage is dynamic and some cover options are destructible. After killing an enemy, he drops his weapon.

In addition to that, animations for reloading or the slides of pistols moving back when shooting, have significantly improved from GTA IV.

Each protagonist has a green coloured health bar, which regenerates up to 50%, a blue coloured bar for body armour with different levels of protection and a yellow coloured bar for character-unique special abilities, which drains when using the special bilitiy and recharges slowly after use. All three bars are displayed under the radar in the bottom left corner of the screen. In the Special Edition and Collector's Edition of Grand Theft Auto V Michael, Franklin and Trevor each have a special ability boost. With this boost, the special ability bar will regenerate 25% faster. Michael has as only protagonist a special ability, that can start a bullettime sequence for a certain time span. Trevor has as only protagonist a special ability, that allows him to do double damage and take half damage and giving him an unique melee attack for a certain time span.

In addition to that, every protagonist has combat related skill levels for: Special, Shooting, Strength and Stealth, which are displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen when accessing the character menu.

Melee

Fists

One's own fists are the first weapon that the player has in every GTA.

Crowbar

Hammer

It has been confirmed by Rockstar, that there will be three "additional weapons" in the special and collectors edition of the game and "when visiting Ammunation stores in single player, merchants will have special weapons in their inventory available for free: the Pistol .50, Bullpup Shotgun and melee Hammer."

Side handle baton

Golf club

Golf clubs were only previously seen in GTA Vice City, GTA Vice City Stories and GTA San Andreas. It has already been confirmed that there will be a golf mini-game in GTA V, but whether golf clubs can be used as a weapon also remains to be seen.

Baseball bat

A GTA classic, first seen in GTA III and featured throughout the series since, baseball bats are returning once again.

Hunting knife

If this hunting knife will appear as a weapon in the game remains to be seen.

Pistols

Pistol (Beretta 92FS)

The Beretta 92 (also Beretta 96 and Beretta 98) is a series of semi-automatic pistols designed and manufactured by Beretta of Italy. The model 92 was designed in 1972 and production of many variants in different calibers continues today. The United States armed forces replaced the Model 1911A1 .45 ACP pistol in 1985 with the military spec Beretta 92F, the M9.The FS variant has an enlarged hammer pin that fits into a groove on the underside of the slide. The main purpose is to stop the slide from flying off the frame to the rear if it cracks. This was in response to reported defective slides during U.S. Military testing.

Combat pistol (Heckler & Koch USP Compact / Beretta Px4 Storm Compact)

The combat pistol is a compact, lightweight, semi-automatic pistol designed for law enforcement and personal defence.

AP pistol (fictional pistol)

The "AP pistol" has a full automatic fire mode. An extended magazine is available for purchase.

Stun gun

The stun gun fires a projectile that administers a voltage capable of temporarilly stunning an assailant. It takes aproximately four seconds to recharge after firing. A recharge counter appears in the top-right corner after firing. When fully charged you can fire another round. Police officers use stun guns.

Desert Eagle

The Israel Military Industries Desert Eagle is a large-framed gas-operated semi-automatic pistol designed by Magnum Research in the US. Over the past 25 years, MRI has been responsible for the design and development of the Desert Eagle pistol. The design was refined and the actual pistols were manufactured by Israel Military Industries until 1995, when MRI shifted the manufacturing contract to Saco Defense in Saco, Maine. In 1998, MRI moved manufacturing back to IMI, which later reorganized under the name Israel Weapon Industries. Both Saco and IMI/IWI were strictly contractors: all of the intellectual property, including patents, copyrights and trademarks, are the property of Magnum Research. Since 2009, the Desert Eagle Pistol has been produced in the USA at MRI’s Pillager, MN facility. Kahr Arms acquired Magnum Research in the middle of 2010. The Desert Eagle has been featured in roughly 500 motion pictures and TV films, considerably increasing its popularity and boosting sales. It has been confirmed by Rockstar, that there will be three "additional weapons" in the special and collectors edition of the game and "when visiting Ammunation stores in single player, merchants will have special weapons in their inventory available for free: the Pistol .50, Bullpup Shotgun and melee Hammer." However, it is unknown if this refers to the Desert Eagle or another pistol.

Machine pistols / Submachine guns / Machine guns

Micro SMG (Mini Uzi)

The Uzi is a family of Israeli open bolt, blowback-operated submachine guns. Smaller variants are considered to be machine pistols. The Uzi was one of the first weapons to use a telescoping bolt design which allows for the magazine to be housed in the pistol grip for a shorter weapon. The first Uzi submachine gun was designed by Major Uziel Gal in the late 1940s. The prototype was finished in 1950; first introduced to IDF special forces in 1954, the weapon was placed into general issue two years later. The Uzi has found use as a personal defense weapon by rear-echelon troops, officers, artillery troops and tankers, as well as a frontline weapon by elite light infantry assault forces. The Uzi has been exported to over 90 countries. Over its service lifetime, it has been manufactured by Israel Military Industries, FN Herstal, and other manufacturers. From the 1960s through the 1980s, Uzi submachine guns were sold to more military and police markets than any other submachine gun ever made. The Mini-Uzi is a smaller version of the regular Uzi, first introduced in 1980. The Mini-Uzi is 600 mm (23.62 inches) long or 360 mm (14.17 inches) long with the stock folded. Its barrel length is 197 mm (7.76 inches), its muzzle velocity is 375 m/s (1230 f/s) and its effective range is 100 m. It has a greater automatic rate of fire of 950 rounds per minute due to the shorter bolt.

SMG (Heckler & Koch MP5 A5)

The Heckler & Koch MP5 is a 9mm submachine gun developed in the 1960s by a team of engineers from the German small arms manufacturer Heckler & Koch GmbH (H&K). There are over 100 variants, including a semi-automatic version. The MP5 is one of the most widely used submachine guns in the world, having been adopted by 40 nations and numerous military, law enforcement, intelligence, and security organizations.MP5A5 is a variant with an retractable buttstock and a 3-round burst trigger group.

Assault SMG

The Assault SMG is automatically unlocked for all Social Club members in Grand Theft Auto V Story Mode, the Assault SMG is a high-capacity submachine gun that is both compact and lightweight. This powerful weapon holds up to 60 rounds in one magazine. The gun can be picked up from your local Ammu-nation.

MG (PKM)

The PK is a 7.62 mm general-purpose machine gun designed in the Soviet Union and currently in production in Russia. The PK machine gun was introduced in the 1960s and replaced the SGM and RP-46 machine guns in Soviet service. It remains in use as a front-line infantry and vehicle-mounted weapon with Russia's armed forces, and has been exported extensively. The PKM (ПК Модернизированный: "Kalashnikov's Machine-gun Modernized"), was adopted into service in 1969. It is a modernized, product-improved version of the PK weighing only 7.5 kg without ammunition.

Combat MG (Mk 48)

The Mk 48 is a lightweight belt-fed machine gun, firing 7.62×51mm NATO cartridges from a disintegrating belt of ammunition. It is manufactured by Fabrique Nationale Manufacturing, Inc., a division of FN Herstal based in the United States. The Mk 48 has been developed in conjunction with the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), which has adopted the weapon and started its fielding process, beginning with special operations units. The pictured Mk 48 has an Elcan Specter 4x sight and a Magpul angled foregrip.

Shotguns

Sawed-off shotgun (Serbu Super-Shorty)

The Super-Shorty is a compact, stockless, pump-action shotgun chambered in 12-gauge (2¾ and 3"). Most production models are based on the Mossberg Maverick 88 shotgun, though some are made from Mossberg 500 and Remington 870 receivers. The shotgun features a spring-loaded, folding foregrip. A 20-gauge model is available on special order.

Mossberg 590A1 Tactical Tri-Rail

Mossberg 500 is a series of shotguns manufactured by O.F. Mossberg & Sons. The 500 series comprises widely varying models of hammerless, pump action repeaters, all of which share the same basic receiver and action, but differ in bore size, barrel length, choke options, magazine capacity, and "furniture" (stock and forearm) materials. The primary difference between the Model 500 and Model 590 is in magazine tube design. The Model 500 magazines are closed at the muzzle end, and the barrel is held in place by bolting into a threaded hole at the end of the magazine tube. Model 590 magazines are designed to be opened at the muzzle end, and the barrels fit around the magazine tube and are held on by a nut at the end. The Model 500 magazine facilitates easy barrel changes, as the barrel bolt serves no function other than holding the barrel in place. The Model 590 magazine facilitates easy cleaning and parts replacement, as removing the nut allows removal of the magazine spring and follower. The Model 590 has a plastic trigger guard and safety and a standard barrel. The Model 590A1 has an aluminum trigger guard and safety, and a heavier barrel, intended for military use under extreme conditions and rough handling; the metal trigger guard was added in response to the 3443G materials requirements, and the heavy barrel was added at the request of the Navy. The 590A1 is generally sold through military and law enforcement channels, though in most jurisdictions the 18.5-inch (47 cm) and 20-inch (51 cm) models may be legally purchased by private persons.

Keltec KSG

The Kel-Tec KSG is a bullpup 12-gauge pump action shotgun designed by Kel-Tec. It has two tube magazines which the user of the gun can switch between manually. Each tube holds a total of seven 2.75 in (70 mm) 12-gauge shotshells or six 3 in (76 mm) shotshells. The Kel-Tec KSG shotgun is a manually operated, pump (slide) action weapon. Barrel locking is achieved by a swinging wedge, located inside the top of the bolt, which engages the barrel extension. The sliding forend is connected to the bolt by dual operating bars. The ammunition feed is from two independent tubular magazines, located below the barrel. It has been confirmed by Rockstar, that there will be three "additional weapons" in the special and collectors edition of the game and "when visiting Ammunation stores in single player, merchants will have special weapons in their inventory available for free: the Pistol .50, Bullpup Shotgun and melee Hammer."

Assault rifles / Carbine rifles

Assault rifle (Norinco Type 56-2)

The Type 56 is likely the most widely proliferated AK-47 type rifle in the world having shown up on battlefields in Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, South America, etc. While exact production figures are not known, it is commonly estimated that as many as 10 to 15 million Type 56 rifles have been produced since the 1950s which means they may account for nearly one-fifth of the world's AK production. The Norinco Type 56-2 is an improved variant and copy of AKM with a with a side-folding stock. It was untroduced in 1980 and mainly manufactured for export and rare in China.

Carbine rifle (Heckler & Koch HK416 - 10,4")

The Heckler & Koch HK416 is an assault rifle designed and manufactured by Heckler & Koch. It uses the AR-15 platform, originally conceived as an improvement to the Colt M4 carbine with the notable inclusion of a gas-piston system derived from the Heckler & Koch G36. Customers have the option of purchasing a new upper receiver, buffer and drive spring to refurbish M4s or buying a completely new build HK416. The HK416 was part of the Individual Carbine competition to replace the M4. The project was cancelled without a winner. HK416 variants are available with 10.4, 14.5, 16.5, and 20 inch (264, 368, 419, 508 mm) barrels.GTA V features a Heckler & Koch HK416 A5 - 10,4", which can be classified as a carbine rifle due to its short barrel length. It the game the gun is simply called "Carbine rifle". The pictured guns most likely have a telescopic fixed tube stock.

Advanced rifle (IMI Tavor CTAR-21)

The TAR-21 is an Israeli bullpup assault rifle chambered for 5.56×45mm NATO ammunition with a selective fire system, selecting between semi-automatic mode and full automatic fire mode. Since 2009, it has been selected as the standard issued weapon of the Israeli infantry. The CTAR-21 is a compact short barrel version intended for commandos and special forces.Bullpup rifles are configured in a layout in which the bolt carrier group is placed behind the pistol grip; this shortens the overall length but does not sacrifice barrel length. The TAR-21 provides carbine length, but rifle muzzle velocity. The bullpup design is also used to minimize the silhouette of soldiers and to maximize effectiveness in turning corners in urban warfare.

It appears that the in-game model has been modified throughout the development process of the game.

Sniper rifles

Sniper rifle (Accuracy International AWM L115A3)

The Accuracy International AWM (Arctic Warfare Magnum) is a bolt-action sniper rifle manufactured by Accuracy International designed for magnum rifle cartridge chamberings. The Accuracy International AWM is also unofficially known as the AWSM (Arctic Warfare Super Magnum), which typically denotes AWM rifles chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum.

Heavy sniper (Barrett M82A1)

The M82 is a recoil-operated, semi-automatic anti-materiel rifle developed by the American Barrett Firearms Manufacturing company. A heavy SASR (Special Application Scoped Rifle), it is used by many units and armies around the world. It is also called the "Light Fifty" for its .50 BMG (12.7×99mm NATO) chambering. The weapon is found in two variants, the original M82A1 (and A3) and the bullpup M82A2. The M82A2 is no longer manufactured, though the XM500 can be seen as its successor.

Heavy artillery

Grenade launcher (M32)

The MGL (Multiple Grenade Launcher) is a lightweight 40 mm six-shot revolver-type grenade launcher developed and manufactured in South Africa by Milkor (Pty) Ltd. The MGL was demonstrated as a concept to the South African Defence Force (SADF) in 1981. The operating principle was immediately accepted and subjected to a stringent qualification program. The MGL was then officially accepted into service with the SADF as the Y2. After its introduction in 1983, the MGL was gradually adopted by the armed forces and law enforcement organizations of over 30 countries. Total production since 1983 has been more than 50,000 units. In 2005 the U.S. Marine Corp procured 200 US-made Milkor MGL-140s, designating it the "M32 Multiple shot Grenade Launcher" (M32 MGL, or M32 MSGL). They were initially fielded tested in 2006. The US Marine Corps M32 version is equipped with the M2A1 reflex sight. It is a “AAA” battery–powered sight with infra-red settings for night operations. It has Picatinny rail attachment and elevation adjusts in 25 meter increments and compensates for drift

RPG (RPG-7)

The RPG-7 (Russian: РПГ-7) is a Soviet portable, unguided, shoulder-launched, anti-tank rocket-propelled grenade launcher. Originally the RPG-7 (Ручной Противотанковый Гранатомёт – Ruchnoy Protivotankovyy Granatomyot, Hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher) and its predecessor, the RPG-2, was designed by the Soviet Union; it is now manufactured by the Bazalt company. The weapon has the GRAU index 6G3. The English-language term "rocket-propelled grenade", though frequently encountered and reasonably descriptive, is a backronym for "RPG" and not based on a literal translation. The ruggedness, simplicity, low cost, and effectiveness of the RPG-7 has made it the most widely used anti-armor weapon in the world. Currently around 40 countries use the weapon, and it is manufactured in a number of variants by nine countries. It is also popular with irregular and guerrilla forces. The RPG has been used in almost all conflicts across all continents since the mid-1960s from the Vietnam War to the early 2010s War in Afghanistan.

Minigun (M134)

The M134 Minigun is a 7.62 mm, six-barreled machine gun with a high rate of fire (2,000 to 6,000 rounds per minute). It features Gatling-style rotating barrels with an external power source, normally an electric motor. The "Mini" of the name is in comparison to designs that use a similar firing mechanism but larger shells, such as General Electric's earlier 20-millimeter M61 Vulcan, and "gun" for a caliber size smaller than that of a cannon, typically 20 mm and higher. "Minigun" refers to a specific model of weapon, originally produced by General Electric. But the term "minigun" has popularly come to refer to any externally powered Gatling gun of rifle caliber. The term is also used to refer to guns of similar rates of fire and configuration sometimes, regardless of power source and caliber.

Explosives / thrown weapons

Fragmentation hand grenade (M26 A1)

The M26 is a fragmentation grenade developed by the United States military. Its distinct lemon shape led it to being nicknamed the "lemon grenade". Fragmentation is enhanced by a special pre-notched fragmentation coil that lies along the inside of the grenade's body. this coil had a circular cross-section in the M26 grenade and an improved square cross-section in the M26A1 and later designs. The grenades were stored inside two-part cylindrical fiberboard shipping tubes (Container M289) and were packed 25 or 30 to a crate.

The M26A1 is an M26 that has the fragmentation coil redesigned to have a square rather than circular cross-section and has deeper serrations to aid in fragmentation. It also added a small Tetryl booster charge on its fuze to completely detonate the explosive filler (displaced to 5.5 ounces because of the added booster charge) and used the updated M204A2 fuze.

Tear gas grenade

Smoke grenades are canister-type grenades used as ground-to-ground or ground-to-air signaling devices, target or landing zone marking devices, or as screening devices for unit movements. Smoke grenades are normally considered non-lethal, although incorrect use may cause death. The body consists of a sheet steel cylinder with a four emission holes on top and one on the bottom to allow smoke release when the grenade is ignited. The filler consists of 250 to 350 grams of colored (red, green, orange, gray, yellow, blue, white, black, or violet) smoke composition (mostly potassium chlorate, lactose, and a dye). The reaction is exothermic and grenade casings will often remain scalding hot for some time even after the grenade is no longer emitting smoke. Typically for Military use, but can be used elsewhere too, safely though, and non-lethal chemical compounds involved.

Sticky bomb (C4)

C4 or Composition C4 is a common variety of the plastic explosive known as Composition C. C4 is composed of explosives, plastic binder, plasticizer and usually a marker or odorizing taggant chemical such as 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-dinitrobutane (DMDNB) to help detect the explosive and identify its source. The explosive in C4 is RDX (cyclonite or cyclotrimethylene trinitramine), which makes up around 91% of C4 by mass. The plasticizer is diethylhexyl (5.3%) or dioctyl sebacate and the binder is usually polyisobutylene (2.1%). Another plasticizer used is dioctyl adipate (DOA). A small amount of SAE 10 non-detergent motor oil (1.6%) is also added. C4 is manufactured by combining the noted ingredients with binder dissolved in a solvent. The solvent is then evaporated and the mixture dried and filtered. The final material is an off-white solid with a texture similar to modelling clay.

Molotov cocktail

Jerrycan

With the jerrycan the player can leave a trail of gasoline that can be ignited by shooting on it or with a molotv cocktail.

Other equipment

Smartphone

The Smartphone can be used by the player to take photos in the game and upload them to Rockstar's Social Club. The phone is also used to change characters in the game. While changing the character the screen shows a Google Earth like overview of the map. The phone also has apps. In addition to the camera there is internet, contacts, social media, a calendar, and a replay missions app. There are three more Rockstar hasn't revealed yet.

Parachute

Photo camera

Binoculars

Body armour

There are several kinds of body armour with different levels of protection in the game. There is also a full-body armour in the game.

The new assault rifle (seen in the screenshot of Michael firing at helicopters from the chopper) looks like a cross between the FN P90 and the Tavor TAR-21 rather than any single gun.

Also the shotgun Franklin uses looks like a Mossberg 500 with shoulder stock:

lol, that's definitely not a Desert Eagle. It shares more in common with a Glock-21 with green furniture than anything.

It's an Ak-47, it's just another variant of the Ak-47 and a different manufacturer. In the beginning they were direct copies of Mikhail Kalashnikov's AK-47. No need to call them a completely different name when they were the same gun just with small minor differences that's not going to completely change it into a new weapon

That is not a FN P90

what is it?

I think it is F2000

damn they all look so similar... but a submachine gun in this pic would make more sense because of the distance.

How would that make sense? Assault rifle is superior in every aspect compared to smg. Bigger caliber, bigger range and it's more lethal because of caliber. If anything using AR against chopper is logical move.

Yep and that's definitely desert eagle with green finish. You should ask mod to put this thread to

News section since there isn't one dedicated to weapons.

Just re-size those images.
