At first I was skeptical. I still am because what happens when you almost die? You can just switch? It is strange but I like it. Change is what we needed.

 

BUT! Rule number one: Dont fix if it aint broke. <

In freeroam, you can switch and the protagonist will suffer with AI-controlled, depends on the situation. He may make it or may be wasted and be sent to hospital. That adds one to that protagonist's "Time wasted". There is of course a delay between the switch so you won't be able to see the transition when a protagonist gets wasted/busted.

 

During missions, you can do so ONLY when two or all 3 protagonists are involved. If you switch, the nearly-dead one will be come ally and if he dies, mission fails, just like every other GTA games.

 

All in all, the combination to switch protagonist will be probably complex enough so we won't accidentally press it by chance

Anyone think it's possible that Trevor could be the silent antagonist of the game? It would truly be interesting playing the game from that perspective as well. Maybe on one of the robbery jobs, Trevor does something extremely stupid (he's a drug-addled-psychopath), like kills a hostage or something.

 

For those who have seen Heat, just think of Waingro.

 

Heat is one of my most favorite movies, but only because of Neil McCauley's story and his tight crew. But along came Waingro, who destroyed McCauley (De Niro) and his crew. Such an unnecessary tragedy.

 

Movies need artificial sources of conflict to give them motivation and momentum. That was Waingro. He was an artificial element put in the film to create f*ck ups.

 

So I see your good observant suggestion, but I hope that GTAV does *not* play out like Heat, where Trevor (Waingro type) brings down Michael (Neil McCauley type) at the end. That would be another tragedy.

Article was cool. But, not gonna lie, I'm a bit disappointed with the lack of player customization(knew it was coming with how distinguished they were from one another when I saw them at the beginning of the article) (can't f*ckin work out and get buff sad.gif ), also disappointed with the statement "better to have one good mini game than five half-assed ones" so there goes having a lot of cool mini games, can't even buy property, can't even f*ck bitches.....IT'S GTA AND YOU CAN'T F*CK B*TCHES!! f*ck the conservative sh*t

 

And they acted like we had TONS of fun sh*t to do in IV lol yeah bowling and darts. So it seems like V won't offer much more as far as fun sh*t on the side. Seems like they're still headed in that really serious direction, f*ck.

 

I do like how they admitted that driving in IV made the cars feel "big and boatlike." Perfect description. I'm excited to see what driving is like:)

 

EDIT: Oh and their excuse for not having awesome voice actors was lame. Professional actors are f*cking professional, they are better at getting into a character than anyone

Is it really that big of a deal you can't work out in a video game? Not for me. Besides you have three very different characters you can play as. Also they explained why it was impossible to add this into the game with high definition, with standard definition things like that were a lot easier. Understandable. Would you rather have original xbox graphics in order to ''get buff'' in a video game? Doubtful.

 

Are you kidding me? You would rather have a bunch of dumb half assed little mini games where you don't play more than 2 or 3 times over a few really detailed games such as golf and tennis that have a ton of replayability? I cannot fathom why anyone would be disappointed by this. They made an entire golf course for gods sake.

 

You can't fu*k bitches? Where did they confirm this? All they said was there will be no Romances in the game, in other words they cut out a bunch of boring useless GF missions that everyone hated. You will still be able to bang a prostitute in the game, and even if you can't who gives a crap, just go get laid in real life. Now if they wouldn't let you shoot hookers....now that would piss me off. U'd have a legit complaint there.

Hey I was reading the "Familiar Faces" and thought about what Luis (from TBOGT) friend, Tony. I remember Tony mentioning something about a girl friend doing yoga in Los Santos.

 

So I think we'll see him around in a mission with Michael side.

As somebody who's always loved games where there's tons to do outside of the "actual game" (missions and such) this is like a dream come true. I always had this idea for a game where it was a huge open world sandbox dedicated solely to sports. You could walk to the park and shoot some hoops, go skateboarding, or ski down a mountain. I believe this is as close as we'll ever come. I already know I'm going to be obsessed with the bicycles.

Right now I'm thinking the switching between 3 protagonists will be like a gimmick, but I'm sure Rockstar will make it good enough to be justifiable. Trevor's tattoos are bad a$$: CUT HERE around the neck and F*** Y** on the fists. So far I like what I see.

This is gonna be great... People how are complaining can go somewere else and forget this game and never play it. I dont like Battlefield 3 and I dont need to play it, the same goes for all you that THINK you are not gonna like this. I mean.. look at the mountain for _'s sake! games with mountains are good games! And have som trust in rockstar, thay do great games. They have a passion for what they do. So this is gonna be the best game ever (i know how, "best game ever" sounds smile.gif )

Me either. I really would like them all to just have to just get along. But each of the characters are different. I mean, Michael seems like professional type of criminal. Franklin seems like the up-and-coming criminal. And Trevor seems (is) a goddamn f*cking psychopath. How him and Michael even worked together is a mystery to me. I mean, I'm already sensing some animosity between Trevor and Franklin... def. some racist remarks are going to be thrown around I'd imagine. I really would like for them all to get along... but I really don't see Trevor being much of a team player. I'm willing to bet he will be the antagonist at some point in the story.

 

I'd like for them all to live by the end of the story, because if one died, then that just takes out the immersion that character has to the area they inhabit. I can totally see Trevor turning on them. I mean, just look at Michael's story. If you think about it, that has tragedy written all over it. A former criminal, in witness protection, turns back to crime. That is going to piss off the FIB... and I'm wondering why he was placed in the program in the first place? I want to know his full motivations. Is he doing it to for the thrill he once had because his new domestic life is so mundane? Just so much to think about. I really don't want any of the protagonists to die, but I just have a feeling at least one of them will.

 

I WANT THEM ALL TO LIVE, DAMN IT!

 

I want to enjoy Uptown Los Santos as Michael.

I want to enjoy Downtown Los Santos as Franklin.

I want to enjoy the countryside as Trevor.

 

Does that make sense, immersion-wise?

I'm surprised, and that's great. The performance gap of RAGE between consoles must be totally gone now.

You can complete the story using one character. Matt replied no on the basis of missions. So, no problem for the multi-protagonist-haters. I'm one of them. If Chop makes an appearance, I'll go with Franklin alone.

Regarding this March leak, which was binned a few hours ago by Ryan: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=504969&hl=

 

I've unbinned that now so people can stop asking about it and make hateful posts towards forum staff for doing so (I've removed most of it, especially on first page of this GI thread, because it's best for most members to read about the GI preview and all the cool new info and screenshots!).

 

So you know, we weren't trying to hide it etc. or "cover our tracks". I'm not exactly sure why Ryan binned it, because it just worsens the situation and makes the rest of forum staff look bad. We obviously can't hide what's already out there and accessible via Google's cache etc. Deleting these sort of things will just enrage some members and keep others asking about it.

 

Definitely, it is sad that someone out there tried to leak game details, more importantly, spoil game details. At least it wasn't too spoilerific.

 

So yeah, please understand we're not out here to "cover our tracks" or "hide leaks" like members suggested. This is the only real leak on the forum and everything else is just a bunch of tosh. Trust me on this. The entire reason that message at the top about Rockstar employees not leaking game details was because the 99% of supposed game leaks or faked linked accounts and CVs were entirely faked - and it was getting tiresome reading all these silly stories.

 

As for the real leak at hand, it's difficult for forum staff at the time to spot the real ones - especially given the one at hand which wasn't even entirely accurate (there's no Albert). But please let's get back on topic on discussing the game and not dwell on the past because there's not much to be discussed here. It happened, so let's move on and enjoy all the amazing assets and info we have, with more to come the rest of the month!

Did they mention no property buying or was it just left out of the article? If it was left out then dont assume its not in the game just yet.

they mentioned:

 

- you can't buy property but there are alot of other stuff you can do with your cash

 

- no cusomisation, you can only change your clothes.

Exactly! But I was just talking about all the hate I was seeing (since removed) where people were making hateful comments towards forum staff for deleting that thread since its discovery yesterday, i.e. finding out it was a legitimate leak. Just wanted to clarify we weren't "trying to cover our asses" etc. like some members were suggesting.
