GTA V Game Informer Preview

Everyone is so pissed that 360 will have 2-4 discs (don't deny it, this will happen).

But no one is taking into account that the game would NOT play smoothly in any way if discs required changing every half hour.

Very likely, the game will ship with multiple discs, and when first playing, the player must install every disc onto 360 hard drive. After the discs are downloaded, Disc 1 is the only one required in order to play. Simple, and makes sense, as other games have done this with DLC.

There's no indication that multiple discs are needed yet. If they are needed, what'll probably happen is that one disc will have single player and the other multi. At the very worst, the single player will come on two discs and there'll be one change needed at one point in the story. As I said, though, multiple discs are not certain.

But do you honestly think that RDR+SA+IV map size, more vehicles and weapons than any previous GTA, etc. will fit on one disc?

IV pushed the limit for 360, and R* had to use a newly developed DVD that held a little more memory than an ordinary one, and even still, IV packed that disc full. There is honestly no way that V can fit it its entirety.

Also, the article hinted that MP will be launched from SP, likely from the phone again. What would happen when getting an error for MP that sends you back to SP? The way that is common in IV? Doesn't make sense.

It's certainly possible. There was an Xbox update that was released a while after GTA IV came out that freed up around an extra GB of space on discs. It does mean the disc is accessed for a little while longer on startup, even if the game is installed.

As for MP, you'd have to ask someone who plays Halo 4 or AC3 MP how it works, since both have a dedicated MP disc for the 360.

I'm glad that GI talked alot about the protagonists but I feel like so many important issues were dodged

I understand that alot of things will be revealed over time but 18 pages was completely unnessecary and if you ask me they played us. Half the images were old screenshots/artwork and several pages barely even talked about what was in the game. I enjoyed the whole article but I'm sure we all expected there to be 18 pages of direct game info and unseen screens

Usually the other magazine have better reviews because they tend to be more observational and less like Rockstar marketing

I now know a lot more about GTA V than I did previously. I know there are three protags, who they are, I know something of the scale of the place, I know how this game will be different to previous ones. Therefore I don't feel I've been "played".

I agree with you 1,000%.

I can't believe they used screens that were already published by Rockstar!

To be fair, probably the majority of gamers/general public haven't even see the screenshots - heck - even Trailer 1. So I guess it's not all that bad, when they did give us a dozen or so new screenshots. Probably the best of them too.

No way! I don't buy that! They should have used all brand new screens!

Even though there were several repeat screenshots in the article, I still felt that it was a great appetizer for the trailer arriving next week. I especially liked the section where the art designer talked about the extreme attention to detail that they incorporated this time around.......things like water pooling around hoses, old painted over graffitti, sprinklers turning on in the evening, pedestrians actually behaving like individuals.

I really like the artwork style this time around as well.....especially the one of Michael donning a stocking and Wayfarers over his face while nonchalantly holding an SMG and checking his watch. cool.gif

Article was cool. But, not gonna lie, I'm a bit disappointed with the lack of player customization(knew it was coming with how distinguished they were from one another when I saw them at the beginning of the article) (can't f*ckin work out and get buff sad.gif ), also disappointed with the statement "better to have one good mini game than five half-assed ones" so there goes having a lot of cool mini games, can't even buy property, can't even f*ck bitches.....IT'S GTA AND YOU CAN'T F*CK B*TCHES!! f*ck the conservative sh*t

And they acted like we had TONS of fun sh*t to do in IV lol yeah bowling and darts. So it seems like V won't offer much more as far as fun sh*t on the side. Seems like they're still headed in that really serious direction, f*ck.

I do like how they admitted that driving in IV made the cars feel "big and boatlike." Perfect description. I'm excited to see what driving is like:)

EDIT: Oh and their excuse for not having awesome voice actors was lame. Professional actors are f*cking professional, they are better at getting into a character than anyone

Maaaan, could you please stop complaining? Aren't you satisfied yet? They threw 18 pages of information in your hands, talking about a lot of things that were never mentioned before, and you now only care about what was wrong?

What the f*ck? Really, you people are never satisfied. Go find the information for yourself then. Break into Rockstar's office, hack their PCs, go and do what you want.

I bet my money that at least 70% of this forum will be complaining about some stupid things from the second trailer next week. Just because they are never satisfied.

Anyone think it's possible that Trevor could be the silent antagonist of the game? It would truly be interesting playing the game from that perspective as well. Maybe on one of the robbery jobs, Trevor does something extremely stupid (he's a drug-addled-psychopath), like kills a hostage or something.

For those who have seen Heat, just think of Waingro.

And you're the type to make others feel like assholes beause they don't have the same opinion as you.

JKMoneyShizzle

i wonder who is going to be the main antagonist in the game? Maybe someone with wealth and power you rip money from and he hunts your 3 characters during the game, or maybe one of the 3 characters goes rogue. That would be an interesting twist to play as an antagonist and protagonist seeing their skeems against each other and try to kill each other by playing both characters separately

MosquitoSmasher

I'm with you Deffpony on that i was expecting nothing but 18 pages of details as well. But i started reading and basically the first two pages was about how

Rockstar is changing things up and some stuff about previous games and protagonists. It was a great reat, but it really didn't feel like such a big cover story at all.

I'm all for keeping things a secret and having to find it out yourself. But the standard things like cops/wanted system and everything is definitely what i expected

but we didn't get it. I was gonna ignore the other previews on monday cause i felt 18 pages was more than enough, but really....i feel that i can read up on a whole

lot more and not get everything spoiled.

lol yeah I can't wait to see them all interact with each other. How they all got together etc.

should be interesting....

My prediction is that, since Michael and Trevor used to work together, he calls him up for a job. They need a wheelman or something, then Franklin steps up for the job... because he's ready to move forward in his criminal career.

I guarantee Michael will try and keep the relationship between Trevor and Franklin civil. I am just expecting racial tendencies between those two.
