Zee
Calling it now. Repelling/smashing into a building window (which was ripped off from kayne and lynch anyways) will only be done in one or a handful of missions. never to be seen in free roam. Just want to mark it now.

Deffpony
You're a fool. No hes right, just like when we saw niko clinging to a heliopter. there is a good chance that this will be a one time thing. But that is good enough for me

Duxfever
I'm on the fence with this one, but I'm leaning towards what Zee is saying. Mainly because I don't see how the idea would fit in at all in the freeroaming aspect. Maybe just for the sake of having it in for fun, but I don't know. It's still a bit too early to tell. MrMateczko
Just because there was only one mission in IV, doesn't mean that it'll be the same in V. You have no arguments whatsoever. D T

AZAZEL
Having it as a feature outside missions, say like parachuting, would just be sooo clunky. How would it work? Climbing to the top of a building, attaching the wire, then rappelling down, but to what end? This sort of mechanic is only merited in missions where it actually has a purpose. LotusRIP
um... isn't it obvious? I pictured that scenario as a scripted event in a specific mission.

I'd hate to rapel down a building in multiplayer. Ho hum. Better remove parachutes too, as it is pointless.

ACR
Only hoping human shield won't be one mission only, t would be stupid if it is, because that would be important mechanic which would distinct GTAV from previous GTA games.

It sounds geeky. Just jump off the god damn thing and parachute to safety.
Rockstar20124
I really hope your wrong. But I definitely understand your skepticism Hanging onto vans like GTA IV or walking on top of a moving subway like TBOGT were one mission only if I am correct. Which we should have been able to do through the entire game whenever we wanted FFS

Parachuting is a great way to get down from somewhere fast or for bailing from a helicopter, gliding down and checking out the city. Rappelling would be a pain in the arse to code so that it works anywhere on the map and would feature a nice full screen view of a wall as you head downwards, attached to a building like an idiot. Your sig, it's killing me. Like I said, there would be no point in doing it outside of missions. But if you get enjoyment out of rappelling, more power to ya. Edward Maya
Zee if you hate it that much then go to New York and say it to Rockstar's faces otherwise get the f*ck off these forums because nobody likes you your are the most hated person on here and i am surprised that you haven't been kicked off here coz your harsh comments Its people like you that make these forums members hype die by saying things like "mark my words repelling only 1 or a handfull of missions" but how do you know have you played it at all so don't start this ballocks because i m sick of you
Durden
What the hell would I use it for afterwards anyway? This. It would be f*cking badass in Multiplayer, though. Imagine a gang wars match -- the rival gang is occupying the 50-story office building. Get your buddy to hover by the window with his helicopter, and rappel down, breaking through the story of your choice. Stealthily rappel into the 42nd floor and take out the enemies 1 by 1. GrandMaster Smith
Cant believe no ones said anything, but I think it'd be sweet using this to climb cliff faces to reach mountain peaks. By the looks of the trailer and some of the new pics, mountains are going to be ginormous.. as long as you can use these to climb as well as repel. Hmmm nice bike
I'll be honest, I'm not hating on Rockstar or anything, but I also think we'll only be able to repel down the building just for the mission, too, and not outside of it. GTA IV's pre-release screenshots showed Niko grabbing onto the back of the truck and holding on and everyone thought we could do that, but it turned out it was just for one mission. Same with the red square to do a stun-punch. It's just something I'm expecting, but if they really did bring it into gameplay to use after the mission, it would be a nice surprise!
