Thanks Pink! Thats my new minimoog plugin. Lovin it so far. Sticky is the right word, lol.

One thing I'm wondering though, is the mix okay? I recently moved and have no idea about the acoustics in this room. I'm not looking for a pristine polished sound, it needs to be messy but the bass, kick, snare part should be tight.

So, I grew a pair and recorded my first song. As always, constructive criticism please. And yes, I know the sound quality is sh*t, but when your a teenager with no budget, an iPad's camera is the best you're getting.

I did my first kazoo cover of that Boards of Canada song. Sort of a goof fest, especially with the picture.

You better not be pissing on my favourite band with that image.

Don't take it the wrong way, I love kraftwerk. I almost went with a construction barrel until I figured out near nobody would've gotten that reference.

Wouldn't it work better with you finding your own sound? (that sounded negative, I'm not being negative)

I play on a full hollowbody (laminate top though) and so for me, I've found that a Super Champ XD with a dab of delay and a slight addition of treble to work great. I cannot, however, use this with my 69 telecaster, solid-body nylon string, or Washburn Falcon etc etc.. You get my point?

I think you'd get way better results by finding out what works for you and your guitar =)

(since we're talking anyway, what guitar are you primarily using?)

The Ibanez case is a strange one, they make/have made som extremely sought after guitars( Joe Pass, George Benson, Steve Vai ) but also they make very affordable ones that are just as good. My main cost 290 bucks :D

Sure is I think Ibeanez has some of the best looking guitars around. Don't get me wrong the les Paul is a sweet guitar, sounds amazing but it's really heavy, at least for me. Edited by Crazyeighties

Sure, not a massive Gibson fan here - Though I loved the L4 when I tried it, they get a bad rep from the luthiers in the area

Me and my friend made some like classical film score tests a while back and we kinda patched them together. the Piano part in the first 2 minutes might get repetitive for some, but it changes up at 2 minutes or so to a different movement and I know it's 12 odd minutes long but I'd really like some feed back on it, because we're thinking of making more, but more structured. There's about 4 or 5 Movements if I remember.

Forgive the VSTs but we don't have an entire orchestra to play around with.

It's really quite good, but I'd definitely switch that string sound out (or change the EQ on it) so it becomes less intrusive.

I Unfortunately lost the skeleton to this track a while back so I can't change it too much now.
Thanks for listening though, and thank you for the +

Here's a Bonus track from my archive, Guitars this time. got that spanish vibe. I like the build up then at 3 minutes or so. it's got like a call and response guitar thing going on.

I like the voicings on November Rain, are they your own?

If you're up for some constructive criticism:

The guitar is slightly out of tune on both songs however. I also recommend that you shorten the strap by miles, get it closer to your chest. It's better for your arms and hands in general. Ask any professional. There's no need to strike the strings as if you hate them!

I recommend that you familiarize yourself with some scales that might suit this song, in multiple positions. For the minor part, just use a standard blues scale (pentatonic minor + augmented 4th step). For the major part, I found that a mixolydian modal scale worked very well(Ionian scale with a flat 7th step). In short, familiarize yourself with the fretboard and the theory behing.

I recently did two.

Like 'em, don't like 'em, tell me.

I know I did f*ck up on the 17-19-21 legato.

Also, @ilovebender, they sound nice but those videos are way too dark, also, put the camera where we can see both of your arms playing the guitar next time, your guitar needs to sound louder.

Nice. Love Ibanez guitars. What make are the strings? I use D'Addario 12-52 Flatwounds on my AF75, and Rotosound Yellows on my Fender Cali Strat and Washburn Falcon. All my other guitars (about 7-10 somewhere) have Ernie Balls Super Slinkys.

I have no idea what I have on my PRS, probably D'Addario, I had it set up little time ago, and all I know about the strings is that those are 0.09's

On my Ibanez I use D'Addario 0.10-0.52

I do remember switching my Epiphone Les Paul from 0.12 - 0.60 to 0.09's, my Squier Bullet Strat has some rusty old strings I don't even remember the gauge of.

I can't play 009s anymore. 010 is the lightest I'll go. That's what I use on my guitars which are used for studio gigs, rock/pop/funk gigs, etc.

Here's another one I made just now

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p78n4gNCLCE

Yeah, funny thing is, when I used to be younger, I always played 0.12-0.54 strings, even 0.12-0.60 or 0.13-0.56 and I didn't have any problems.

When I started shredding, I just put some 0.09's on my guitar and I thought "Well it plays just fine" and just kept them.

Besides, the nut on my PRS can't handle more than 0.09, or it has problems when using the trem. I just lubed it today.

Working on something new:

Gonna try to clean up that a bit before bed.. mostly get rid of the amateur-sounding E.P.
