Speedometer/Speed Meter

Should R* finally put a speedometer/speed meter in GTA?

  1. 1. Should R* finally put a speedometer/speed meter in GTA?

    • Yes, I want to know how fast I'm going in each vehicle.

    • No, GTA has never needed it and it still doesn't.

    • I don't care either way.

I usually download a speedometer mod when I play on PC to see what cars are the fastest. Those mods exist because some players clearly want a speedometer in GTA. How do you feel about the addition of a speedometer in GTA V?

Please vote and feel free to discuss.

Maybe if tjey incorporate police missions where you can pull over speeding vehicles using it.

Yes, as long as its DISCREET. I don't want a massive number counter distracting me every time I get into a car. They could integrate it into the minimap somehow.

GTA V has a much bigger map than GTA IV so I feel that Rockstar will make the driving faster. In IV's map, the cars handled a little slower so the map felt bigger. However in GTA V, Rockstar probably will make the driving faster, and that will allow them to have a speedometer. If they had one in IV people would soon realize right away that the driving is slow, and because V has the bigger map, they can make the driving feel more fast like a racing game, and have an accurate speedometer.

Completely agree with this.

I love how R* has been reducing the amount of HUD clutter with their recent games. Maybe just a small number or something that gets incorporated with the health/gps?

Or even not as a HUD, but animated clock that you'll see if you change the camera to cockpit's.

Yeah definitely would be nice as long as it somehow matches the GTA HUD, is optional and doesn't take half of the screen.

Instead of it being on the screen constantly, I would prefer it to be seen on the dashboards of the car during first version view.

Yeah, that was the downside to the modded ones. None of them were aesthetically pleasing at all.

Would be nice to have it in, although I would prefer to see it featured in a list of "Extra" or "Realistic" options, e.g:

Like the audio menu, except for a ton of realistic features that we can enable when we are chilling out, others could be fit in this such as petrol, cars randomly breaking down, police chasing you down for going over the limit, police chasing you down for hopping a red light.

All of that stuff could be a welcome addition, provided it can all easily be toggled on and off, which I am sure V will feature a lot of especially after the mobile phone "cousin come bowling" fiasco.

I never played gta on console, but on pc, you have the ability to go to options and put it on/off.

Maybe that should return in V but for consoles and pc.

The one thing I would actually love. It's not about realism which is why I want it. It would be just a nice feature.

I want it, but as optional, because it would be annoying for some people. It should come in MPH and KPH

Personally don't care for it. I'd rather not have more junk on my HUD even if I can get rid of it.
