He, 512 gives 512mb for streaming, 1024 gives 1024mb (e.g. 1gb) for streaming , 2048 gives 2048mb for streaming (e.g. 2gb)

Look at your computer's graphics card to determine its memory capacity. Select the file that's compatible with your video card in this respect.

MB = Megabtyes

GB = Gigabytes

1024 Megabytes = 1 Gigabyte

Nowadays, video cards typically move up in 256MB or 512MB increments, so...

---------------------------------------

VIDEO CARD--------------->FILE

---------------------------------------

256MB---------------------->256.cs

512MB---------------------->512.cs

768MB---------------------->512.cs

1024MB (1GB)------------->1024.cs

1280MB (1.2GB)----------->1024.cs

1536MB (1.5GB)----------->1024.cs

1792MB (1.8GB)----------->1024.cs

2048MB (2GB)------------->2048.cs

Recommended: You can customize the .CS file to perfectly match your hardware specs and SA screen resolution.

Actually, streaming memory doesn't connect much to GFX memory. The fact is, you'll never need more than ~256mb of streaming memory. 512.cs is more than enuf.

@up

50mb actually.

Like SilentPL said, it's kinda like RAM in your PC. Streaming memory is used to temporarily store vehicles, objects, peds and everything else that is or will be used by the game. Original San Andreas had really low amount of streaming memory (30MB if I'm right?), which caused HQ mods to make roads and buildings to disappear. (Not enough memory to load building models, all used by HQ mods already loaded.)

I verified.

No more than about 550 MB of "streaming memory" is used in my game.

I'm not about gta_sa.exe size from RAM memory, i'm about memory reserved for "streaming". Tests have proved that it's not working efficiently above the certain values.

I found out about Memory512 but was told it does the same thing as 2dfx. If I am having trouble with high quality textures loading in and crashing or stuttering my game, and I already have 2dfx, is there anything that memory512 can do that will help, or is 2dfx the best I got? Or do I need something else entirely for my situation?
