Adriaan
As a result of Take-Two's downgraded revenue projections from $1.8 billion to $1.1 - $1.2 billion for the financial year ending March 31st, 2013 - it is very clear now that GTAV is coming out AFTER March 2013. Previously, they had given revenue projections that they could only have met with a major Grand Theft Auto release by March 2013. The revenue they expect is pretty much in line with their releases from Rocktsar and 2K (Max Payne 3, Borderlands 2, BioShock Infinite, NBA 2K, Rockstar Collection, Vice City for mobile etc.) "Moreover, with Grand Theft Auto V slated for spring 2013, we are poised to generate substantial revenue and earnings growth in fiscal year 2014."- Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two. http://ir.take2games.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=8...2068&highlight= Fiscal year 2014 for Take-Two starts April 2013. As none of their other titles are delayed in today's fiscal update (most importantly, BioShock Infinite), expect GTAV to release somewhere between April-June of 2013. A conference call will be held later today at 4:30 pm EST to discuss these results by the company, and answer questions from analysts. The revenue breakdown they'll give between the two different labels should be an even bigger indication of GTAV not coming out this fiscal year. Conference Call Ended Update from conference: Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V is not releasing this fiscal year, ending March 31st - meaning, earliest possible release is April 2013. The revenue split will be 25% Rockstar / 75% 2K for rest of fiscal year (just a fun fact, nothing special related to GTAV ) Edited October 31, 2012 by Adriaan
Inactive
It's planned for X360, PS3 only! Damn. Was this like for IV too?
Racecarlock
As a game developer, rockstar games is great, but as a business it's more poorly managed than a car with a drunk man at the wheel.

LethalCrizzle
May 2013 has always seemed like the logical release month. Especially since Bioshock is releasing February.. Thats give them 3-4 months of bioshock sales.
Mamunda
f*ck It will probably be April or May. PC version Christmas 2013

krazy_fool_X
At least this narrows down the release window a little bit, although, since we learned "Spring 2013" it was always most likely going to be April or May.
Inactive
Was the PC version announced at a later date? I know it came out late but what about the announcement?
r34ld34l
I want to laught at console users, because they will have to wait a month or two more for release, but then I realise PC will probaly come out 6 months after that. Damn!

lefantome
This means that GTA V has been delayed internally (probably it's not the first time) and explain why we got a generic Spring 2013. This also confirm that R* has no strategy in releasing games in May or whatever but it always ends like that because they are delayed.

Shreddy Krueger
Wow that's bullsh*t. So in other words, since TTWO was touting $1.8Billion the whole fiscal year up until this point, I think it's safe to say that yes indeed GTAV has had some internal delays. Otherwise TTWO/ R* need to seriously hire some managers with better time management skills. Oh well, looks like my stocks are going to be f*cked now because of this. Should've known old habits die hard and R* wouldn't have completed this game on time. At least this narrows it down to April-June (probably May). JeteaFive
sh*t i remember. "This will be our best fiscal year ever done" haha my ass, yeah... so the 2405 theory could be legit.
Kifflom112
Look at all of these people getting mad. So frikkin what, did you actually expect a March release. Get real, that's not even a good time to release, and I'd rather it be in April and May anyways. Now all of the "Marchers" can quit.
Raavi
I still see a possibility for a March release. Maybe they downgraded their estimates because there is no PC port planned. Otherwise late April early May. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise
LotusRIP
GTA4 was April, so it could be the same after all. May would be pushing it, and I really hope 2405 doesn't end up meaning anything cause it seems somewhat tacky.

Should've known old habits die hard and R* wouldn't have completed this game on time. At least this narrows it down to April-June (probably May). In many other industries, there would be quite serious consequences for missing your targets so badly. To the point where the CEO's job would be in question. Take2 do put big clauses about annoucnements to this effect on all their documentation. It does beg the question however why you would ever bother listening to their income projections. I would invest on release date being announced, not on what they say they will deliver in terms of money.
Francis44
I dont like their usual release date for games because they are nowhere near some sort of vacations or holidays. Late March would be perfect because easter would be around the corner.

adriansell
Expected news TBH.. And I guess it stands between an April or May releas, since June, in my opinion seems a bit ''off''... Anyhow, shouldn't this be posted in the Official News section?
