ETF117 Posted October 30, 2012 Share Posted October 30, 2012 I've been a dedicated PC gamer for about three years since buying a new desktop and stumbling across Steam when asked to install it from a strategy game I got on a disc. I've never made a better decision in my life than using PC exclusively. There are so many more possibilities, from modding, taking screenshots, and recording video, and much more. I used to have a PS2, and then an Xbox 360, and I loved both of them. But the fact is that PC offers a higher quality experience for those that are willing to pay a bit more up front. My desktop was $850, and I have not updated it once in the last three years. I run all my games at max settings or close to it. My rig is currently hooked up to my 32 inch TV, and I play most of my games with a wireless Xbox 360 controller. I can literally do everything a console gamer can do and much, much more. On top of that, games that I download from Steam are significantly cheaper than console games on disc, including used ones. For example, I just purchased Dead Space 2 for $5.00 on sale. I've only paid full price for a few games I got when they were just released. Anyway, I've gone on a tangent. My initial point was that the only thing that separates consoles and PC's is a bigger investment at first. After that, I pay about a fourth of what console gamers do for games. All of this backlash against us PC gamers took me completely by surprise. Is it jealously? Is it ignorance? Why do console players despise us? If you are one of the people that have been commenting bad things about PC and PC gamers, feel free to explain your reasoning. Seriously, I hate fanboys. I have no problem with consoles at all, I have problem with fanboys, even PC fanboys can be annoying. I agree that hardcore PC elitists that tell everyone that PC is the only thing that should exist are very annoying. I hope I didn't come across like that. As I said, I liked both consoles I owned, I just discovered that PC was the better experience. I just don't understand why some people would be glad that us PC gamers can't get that game at the same time they do. Does the very fact that we have computers that can run games anger them that much? The point is everything you have on console you can have on PC too if you take enough effort to set it up so the only reason why there are consoles is becouse gaming industry wants more money, everyone who buy consoles support it and becouse of it we, PC gamers must wait longer for games, get crappy ports or we dont get them at all... there wouldnt be any hate on each sides if the companies would treat PC and X360/PS3 gamers in the same way Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
