Okay even though December just started I kinda give up on announcement this month because all the holiday sh*t is coming up and the media will not function as usual. Hope I'm wrong though. It's as if they desperately want us to buy the f*cking console, a lot of people will b4 christmas though. I admit I feel like second rate gamer now especially since console gaming has grown so much in the past few years. nVidia are a bunch of lows, can't do anything to make developers treat PC gamers equally, f*cking deadbeats. Why are people paying thousands of dollars for your damn video cards that can't even be fully taken advantage of.

I did it.

(sh*t-tier phone camera quality)

It's so beautiful... so majestic... so amazing.

It calls to us, precious... it... it calls to us.

We needs it now...

We needs it now...

I hate myself.

Wow that is amazing! What kind of table is that? :nervous:

Beautiful polished wood.

I like how you chose the Xbox 360 version, the one with more compressed stuff, hey, I guess it'll help make the PC version seem like a bigger step up when you get that.

Not like I had a choice. I've been stuck with this 360 for about 4 years now. Never used it until I decided to play some Red Dead and MK 9.

Played GTA V for about 3 or so hours straight.

1. The framerate is absolute ass. This is MOST likely my TV combined with the natural age of the hardware, combining into a very unpleasant experience

2. I bought a smaller TV on purpose to help it resemble a monitor as I do not tend to have good experiences using colossal or wide screens, as I like to focus on a well-rounded area that isn't too big or too small. I was fairly close to it. Not too close. But a bit farther than I am right now at my desk typing this.

The aliasing was absolutely horrid. Everything was jagged. Again, it's most likely my TV. It isn't a sh*t TV. I just... I don't know, lol.

3. The graphics are very, very good in terms of lighting, models and especially cars/other similar objects. But the terrain can be downright laughably ugly. Like some grass and roads... unbelievable how ugly those textures can get.

4. I cannot stress this enough. i absolutely cannot play with a controller. Being a keyboard PC gamer guy, I hardly use my thumbs for anything in that particular gaming activity. So my reflexes are... none. I can't free-aim for sh*t so I'm lucky if I get a bronze during a shooting challenge and the fact that auto-aim is completely absent in vehicles makes every mission that requires me to do in-vehicle shooting (Or even the playful thought of wanting to do a drive by) disgustingly nightmarish.

The game is fun, It really is. But I just can't play like this. Call me an absolute and total retard, but it just doesn't work for me. It all feels so clumsy to me.

Feels so pathetic to admit you can't play with something 11 year olds get the hang of easy in games like COD. f*ck my life.

Why would that make him less of a PC gamer?? He is true Gamer no matter what.

Here is why I say that.

I'm a true Gamer. I play on PC and console. If I see a game I want, I buy it and play it. I don't care what platform its on. It gives me entertainment, that's the only thing that matters. I don't limit myself to one platform.

Good for you Xerukal

I can't say it's really all bad. Because I had a ton of fun just screwing around in the open world, too.

For instance, I absolutely LOVE the mid-air ragdoll you can pull off by punching in mid-air, it is absolutely hilarious. Reminds me of the pratfalls cheat in Saints Row 2.

The shooting, well the concept of it, is also quite fun. I really like the sound of the guns and their feel. Just the auto-aim is... it's auto-aim. I enjoy the more fluid movement and transitions in animations. The little things.

The cops aren't that big of a pain in the ass after I found out I could just hide in a bush in stealth mode.

My game is also unpatched because my Xbox doesn't have internet. So I can go do that money glitch all I want on Franklin and Rockstar won't be able to do sh*t

c3694bf0cf.jpg

As for the above - You're joking with the "UR NOT A TRU PC GAMER!!!". I understand.

So I won't respond seriously.

But In the case that you aren't joking...

I didn't grind my ass off for a few months (During home renovations, at that) to try and save up a couple of hundred of euros to upgrade my CPU, RAM and Motherboard (Which I'm still working on), to get called a "false PC gamer".

I bought the game because my Steam library had about 2 games installed out of 156.

I bought the game because I was sick of raging at Assassin's Creed Black Flag's unbalanced multiplayer.

I bought the game because I liked it.

I wasn't that good at it.

But I was really... I was alive.

(I promise I won't overuse that quote anymore. Don't lynch me)

Cops are ass in the vanilla game. They're literally non-existent until you commit a crime, and they seem to have super-human omniscience, because they'll find you even if you commit a crime in the middle of nowhere .They don't actively patrol the city like they did in GTA 4 and the previous games. But, the PC version will fix that of course, along with the crap delayed car damage.

1) Probably the console. I've been shocked how good the framerate held up on my PS3. Most 360's probably hold up well enough but it really depends on the system.

2) I hope it was an HDTV. GTA V looks noticeably worse on an SDTV. I couldn't even read the text in SD and it's just... ugh. It makes any visual problem ten times worse. Not sure if it also makes aliasing worse, but one of the hardest things for me to do is to play any SD games nowadays because the aliasing just kills my eyes. Moving to HD made gaming so much nicer for me.

3) Yeah the textures are definitely mixed. The ground ones seem to be the worst. Overall though, it's really amazing how they made it look on the consoles.

4) This is the biggest kicker. I'm used to both a controller and a keyboard, so I can go between console and PC controls, but it depends on the game and such. I can't play Saint's Row IV with my 360 controller because it's just plain awful to control it that way. I couldn't even beat SR2 until I got it on the PC. The console controls were so awful for me. I have to use keyboard + mouse controls otherwise it just isn't gonna happen. If you're not able to get comfortable using console controls for V then it will really kill your enjoyment of the game. It might get better if you practice, but the question really is if you want to practice. I don't play online shooters because I suck at them and I don't have fun with them and the time it would take to get good enough to have fun is time I would rather spend on other games. If you don't feel that practicing is worth it, then there's no shame in that. I don't feel ashamed for not playing Halo or Call of Duty and you shouldn't feel ashamed of being a PC gamer who doesn't want to get used to a controller. Everyone has their preferences. :p

Well as long as you don't turn around and say stuff like "WOW, THE IN-GAME TV IS SUCH TERRIBLE QUALITY, CONSOLES CAN'T EVEN HANDLE THAT!!!" or "WOW, THE AUDIO QUALITY GETS PRETTY BAD AT TIMES, sh*tTY CONSOLES COULDN'T HANDLE THAT EITHER!". The Xbox 360 version was compressed like mad to fit on two DVD's, TV and Radio took a pretty big quality hit, especially TV, the quality of these is much better on the PS3 version as that tends to use much larger versions due to the extra space available on the disc (PS3 TV streams on GTA IV used the same quality as the PC version).

I sure did f*ck myself royally, going with a 360 in a country full of PC and PS3 gamers.

I didn't notice anything bad about the audio quality. But the TV quality does look a bit weird.

Modders: Would it be possible to make a mod that gives the each protagonist all three special abilities? Rage when you're unarmed or have a melee, bullet time when you have a weapon, and Frank's ability when driving? sh*t would be dope.

Yeah, while you sit down with laggy, 1080x720 console, I'll be chilling playing my lag-free computer at 1920 x 1200! :)

I like how you chose the Xbox 360 version, the one with more compressed stuff, hey, I guess it'll help make the PC version seem like a bigger step up when you get that.

Graphically speaking, the PS3 has no asset-streaming glitch (unlike the 360, which makes the ground look blurrier a few meters away from the player), and several textures are in a higher quality.

However, the 360's version have slightly better shadows, a better "detail distance" equivalent and a few textures are in a higher quality than it's PS3 counterpart.

So I think he's not losing much, no matter what version he chose.

If I had the choice, however, I would definitely pick the PS3 version, the asset-streaming glitch on the 360 ruined it in my opinion.

And hey, Xerukal, I assume you are playing on a 1080p TV, right? The best way to experience the console versions of the game is on a 720p television, because that's the resolution the game is being internally rendered on them, so the aliasing wouldn't be as outrageous.

Yeah, 1080p. The TV is about the same, if not identical, to my 1920x1080 monitor. So I guess that's the issue.

Time to ask a newbie console question that I could probably just google anyway but won't; is there any way to scale my TV down to 720p? Something akin to a resolution setting on PC?

I dont "limit" myself to one platform..its just an obvious option to stick with PC no matter what.

because you see PC is so so much better than a console is and would ever be in all aspects and terms, its like comparing a below average IQ person who has barely IQ of 75(consoles) to a super genius (PC) who has an IQ of 10000+ who can do almost anything in any way..so to sum it up I dont need any worthless useless device in my room to collect dust(a console), i'de much rather prefer investing my money on upgrading my PC instead of anything else.

I MUST CONFESS......

I failed myself as a PC Gamer and fell in temptation... I Borrowed the game (PS3 Version) from a friend of mine!

Yes, i own a PS3... I use it mostly for watching BR. I bought it from a friend 2 years ago, for about 100€... a bargain i must say! (Sorry, i had to justify myself...)
So, yes, i tried the game... and i must say! IT SUCKS! On console i mean... THE GAME IS AWESOME, the ambience, sound, cars, driving physics... yes i like the driving physics!

BUT, the controls..... man, the controls just ruin the whole experience! So much UNinstinctive... (if the word exists...) I mean, i get mad at the controls... so bad!!!

That's why the PC version is the way to experience this games!

I returned the game to my friend and i am now waiting patiently for the PC Version, because now i know it's really worth the wait... hope that it get a nice PC optimization, though!

That's it.... it's off my chest now!

Not to mention PS3s smallass controller size and 360s shape. It just feels like holding sh*t.

Anyway PCs way better but I wont bother saying why here cuz we all know.

For Skyrim (as guys were asking before), I can confirm that its an awesome game worth every cent (specially legendary edition (mine)). ATM it sure is better than GTA V Ive got on my computer (which I dont so it gets a 0/10 whil Skyrim gets a perfect 10 (or maybe 9.8)). I only had 1 or 2 bugs but its easy to solve them with console commands (PC exclusive).
