Well dont feel bad yonatan, I still have an old AMD DC that was d/c a few yrs ago so. It works good enough w/ IV/EFLC. I did get a 650GTX a little while back, it works a bit better than the old 9600 I had. I'll need to get a new board, CPU/RAM etc in time... Right now I'm doing ok w/ "V" on the console but on PC would be better, especially if we can start making trainers, models, fixing the handling etc in "V"

I love the PC games but I hate the fact that all PC games will get altered and ruined one day because peoples cannot just play the game fairly and equaly.

 

Excuse me? PC gaming has great potential indeed, and PC gaming has got an advantage over console gaming. Modding. Yes, modding IS an advantage, especially when it comes to singleplayer games. Game developers can not take everything into consideration when creating their new piece of art, and their pre-release testing can not find all the bugs in the game. There can be just some few, minor bugs here, some glitches there, and overall, their piece of art isn't complete.

 

Here where comes the art of modding into play, to fulfill and complete the game, to the form it was supposed to be. There are loads of fixes made for pre-V GTA's, which do not just add content, but fix issues, which are not only minor fixes. You can't deny that whenever game developers release their game for PC, with issues ranging from performance issues to small broken gameplay elements, that not long time from release, there are fixes coming up. Some take longer than others, but eventually, most of the fixes will be fixed.

 

And not only fixes will benefit both game developers, and customers, but also mods which add content and modify the gameplay itself. There are lots of games which are still today alive, just because of the modding community. Prime example would be III-Era GTA's, oldest ones from there being over ten years old, but they are still slowly gathering more new-comers to come and join the community and modding. It's what keeps games alive.

Wait what? Why the hell do you even care how someone decides to play their game and what they decide to do with it if they know how too? Seriously do you care if I play my games naked? Do you care if I play my games in a black and white screen? Do you care if I use an old mouse without scroll and with a marble on it? So why the hell do you care how someone decides to play their games and do with it what they want? Do they force you to play it modified? Did the publisher decided that the game had to be changed to that because it looks better? So stop being so nitpicking and using lame excuses for things you don't even understand. And just so that you know, some of those games actually sell more because of the changes someone does to them. The only thing that sucks about modifications is when people use them to take advantage in online modes, but that is up to the developers to solve and prevent.

I still use an old Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz, using a 140€ 460GTX and I'm running Assassins Creed IV in 1080p with everything set up to the highest including textures, effects and reflections, with medium soft shadows, no AA, with volumetric smoke, God rays, and the game looks and runs amazingly. It slows down a bit in some of the battles in the ocean with the smoke and storms but nothing that ruins the game experience.

 

According to some sources Steam Boxes might come with top of the line CPU's with top of the line GPU's like the R9 and the estimated price will be $499, taking this into account and what I've said before about the new consoles and their hardware price, next year there will be a huge cut down in current hardware when it gets replaced by new one... thats when I'll most likely do an upgrade, currently there aren't many reasons to do it yet.

As for those saying Rockstar is expecting the sale numbers of NG consoles, both PS4 and XB1 sold over 1 million units in the first 24hrs, this means there are already over 2 million consoles without the release of them in many countries and even the countries that released them still have a huge demand for more. So it's quite possible that by May of next year there will be over 5 million consoles worldwide.

 

But honestly I doubt Rockstar is expecting anything to make an announcement now, we won't get any info this year at least for NG release. This is the last "Christmas" for the current gen and they are expecting them to sell a ton now for titles like GTA and taking into account that there are new consoles out, they'll most likely cut their price to attract more buyers.

 

If GTA V is aiming for a PC/ NG release in May, it's quite possible that an announcement happens by the end of December, but most likely in early January.

I'm sure you guys already know this, but just to say it out loud, the release of San Andreas on iOS/Android/Windows Phone has NOTHING to do or take away from Rockstars resources. It's War Drum Studios who are doing this and who have done GTA3, Vice City and Max Payne on Mobiles before, after VC they were started on the San Andreas port right away, they wouldn't have worked in any way or form with GTAV as they are strictly mobile platform developers (hell, theye didn't even do the Apps for GTAV! That was the NYC Social Club team!).
