Which one do you think GTAV PC is better optimized for: nVidia or AMD?

 

And at those who are talking about consoles, take that goddamn sh*t somewhere else, take it to the Gaming section.

There are like 100 damn consoles you are restricted to play with the goddamn controller,

is it not enough to talk again about those goddamn consoles?

For f*ck sake we are talking about GTAV PC.

Don't think I am a PC elitist, I just have it enough with those 100 consoles and none of them you can play with a keyboard and mouse.

Sure the xbox360 has keyboard and mouse support but not gonna waste money on that thing. Too late, i have a PS3.

First of all, I don't know how talking about the GTAV, in particular the whys and how's is an offtopic in a thread that was converted into a GENERAL GTA V PC talk, in other words anything that involves NG consoles, current gen technology, market behavior and such it's in the topic, because somehow all connects to the PC version and most important when to be expected.

As for the babies fight, well I believe you're not used to forums, if you call an heated argumentation a babies fight, I don't know what you call to a talk without any valid argumentation and filled with insults where the main topic ends up to be male genitalia and adjectives as substantives to a company name.

Anyway... Ash like I said I'm not an expert in technological terms but from what I KNOW (and thats not a law, it's my understanding on a subject) thats the way I know and I distinguish such technologies, and with features before and after each API. And far as I know there are subtle details in some images (not all) that show that.

Let me show you an example of what I'm talking about, this is a video where it's shown some of the features available only on PC using GTX GPU's, as you can see it's barely noticeable, in fact if they didn't add the ON and OFF text, you wouldn't even know the differences, but in a closer analysis you'll see there are differences and thats exactly what I'm talking about when I mention the differences between some of the shots and the actual game already available, it's small details like shadows, light effects and so on, that show to me that isn't achievable in current gen consoles:

And since it wasn't shown to me anything that proves that wrong, I still defend my position but hey you're free to believe in what you want, this is my opinion and I say why, if you're able to show me that I'm wrong I'm here to see it, but till now that didn't happen. I've seen the game running in front of me more then I wanted and that strengthens my believe in it even more.

Now a final note for all the drama queens that the only thing they do is crying about argumentation and add nothing to the table other then they're whining about how others take argumentations, there is a solution for you, don't like don't come, don't read, move on this is a forum not Tweeter or Facebook where people write a few lines and "seals" clap their paws if they like or turn the face away if they don't. A GTX Titan can't be really considered as a gaming GPU but more of a cheaper alternative for Tesla and compute GPU.

Games, aswell as for PC as for the NG consoles, Double Precision are useless.

So even there a GTX780 and faster aftermartket 780's, GTX Titan will still remain at 1000 bucks and GPGPU card.

 

And regarding my previous post, I admit, it was not meant for that fight but for the "elism" thing.

It is the fact that previous gen consoles are not capable for DX11 things and the screenshots R* released must

have been taken from a PC version. There is too much AA. You don't really need AA on 1080p or higher.

Yeah I know I write a lot, I'm well known for that but I'm like that in real life and with so many years on forums I type almost as fast as I talk.

I might grab my copy of the game tomorrow from the store and I'll tell you what I can do with my GTX 460, but till now it does all that the more expensive GPU's do, except for using high levels of AA and such, but at 1080p those are completely unnecessary for me. I think mine isn't capable of TXAA but the rest shouldn't be a problem, I played other games using those features without any slow down.

The screenshots were actually taken from the PS3 version. These are facts confirmed by R* themselves.

 

Also, you do realize that PS3 is capable of AA, right? It seems like you think otherwise. But PS3 is in fact capable of AA

Yeah you need a GTX 6 series card or higher for TXAA.

 

Edit: I have a GTX 760 SC and with the settings maxed at 1080p, I get about 28-30 FPS. Using any other AA other than FXAA, SMAA, and TXAA 2x , drops my FPS by 10. So I'm using FXAA and SSAO with everything else at max. The game's vsync seems to be adaptive and caps it at 30. Turning it off and the fps is between 30-40. Would love to hear how your card does at the highest it can go to.

What CPU do you have? I have a core i5 760 @ 3.6 Ghz and 8GB of RAM. I could definitely use a CPU upgrade. It could boost my performance significantly. If I had a 3570K I could play this maxed at 50-60 fps.

I don't think anyone really hated Rockstar or even still don't hate them. Are they annoyed? Of course. Disappointed? Obviously. But this is where Brecky came in and ruined the whole thread by bitching and moaning post after post about crude jokes and bad humor. No one was taking the "insults" seriously and it was pretty obvious they were joking about it. Not to mention, the sh*t being said in here was not even on par with what you see/hear in GTA V lol.

 

And Ash, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Seriously though some of the stuff you said in here comes off as hypocritical, but I am dropping it. I got my point across and it sounds like you got the message.

 

 

Silver, wow that PCSS looks really cool, actually all of those features looked really cool. Hoping they have some in V.

If you end up buying it, I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find a used copy that's pretty cheap. Unless you have a JTAG Xbox, then you can have it for free

Do you think the game would look really good on the PC? Like, next-gen good? I mean, have you seen the geometry and some of the meshes of BF4? HOLY sh*t! The last time I was really impressed by a video game was by Crysis 3, it was because of it's physics.

 

I have a feeling that it's not going to look next-gen good, but it would look as good as the pre-release promotional screenshots. I'd also want to know how they did the creases on the fabric thing.

I had a dream too. In fact, I just woke up.

 

There was a GTA V PC torrent in the dream. i was foolish enough to download it. Next thing I remember is launching it and seeing the loading screen. It loaded into San Andreas. I saw CJ in the Fortress of Solitude, of all places. He had a huge fro and damaged teeth. He looked at me for a split-second before the game crashed to my desktop and I woke up.

 

I don't even know anymore.

What I don't get is why I'm the enemy of PC gamers in this thread. I mean, you guys act as if I'm some console fanboy, yeah, clearly I haven't done anything to contribute to the PC scene in the past six years! I'm calling out fanboys and if that means people want to call me out for calling out fanboys then so be it!

 

It's just laugh worthy how SOME of you here go to great lengths to put down consoles, you;d think for a TECH minded lot (as many people assume PC gamers to be), you;d actually KNOWN what the hardware of the consoles can do to before spewing out your hatred and put downs, this one is mainly aimed at S1LVER_W0LF, who can't seem to go three posts here without attacking consoles and console gamers even when unprovoked, it's like he WANTS to create conflict.

 

@DymeDef: See, here's where we're getting wires crossed, it's OBVIOUS the PC version will be better as will next gen versions if they do come out, but why does Silver have to keep bringing this up and putting down consoles, even when no one is even talking about that. I will admit, Silver does have some good eyes on him, but he's clearly PC focused only, and thus, biased, because in the past, such as that thread he mentioned, he was posting about things that were "IMPOSSIBLE" for consoles to do, yet we were taking pictures of them from our console versions of GTAV! Yes it's good to point out how better it can be, but please, don't go to the extreme of out right bullsh*tting and making up crap because that makes no one look good. Or, you know, actually research what the consoles can do with tweaked engines rather than just looking at the specs and deeming them unworthy based on PC logic.

 

As for the people spamming, there have been people in this thread who bring it up, but then you guys write them off as spammers or trolling, I don't know who's trolling who anymore on that front.

 

PS: To everyone else, if you ONLY know me from this thread, I'm sorry, because yeah, I do look like a f*cking jack ass, but I am NOT some kind of enemy towards PC Gamers and PC Gaming, if I was, I'd certainly have a lot more time for other things, but I actually love PC Gaming and modding, I've helped out on many projects over the years such as IV: SA, GTA III Rage Classic, some research, helping out on GTA4-Mods.com, and of course the main project I associate myself with, VCS PC Edition, where we've been working on it for over three years now and made amazing progress and changes to the San Andreas engine thanks to our brilliant team, there's only a few of us, but we're focused, and have some skills to back it up to do

i like to follow the PC thread because i've been contemplating on getting into PC gaming. it's nice to know not all "PC folk" are elitist assholes.

 

i've come to the conclusion that PC people are bitter in general because there has been no official news on a release. can't say i don't blame them, but i have a console to get me by. GTA V is like sex. us console peasants are getting some and are fine until the PC version cums. PC elitists are not getting any and that makes them angry.

 

S1LVER_WOLF is especially bitter because every prediction he has made on when we will hear news/see a release has been wrong. his hatred towards consoles most likely comes from not being able to own one. i feel that "real gamers" will game on anything....i started on atari 2600....but i'm sure that it didn't have enough frame rate/tessellation/shadows for ole wolfy to even bat an eye at.

 

ash your not an asshole.... your the most sane PC gamer in this thread.

I'm having a blast with AC IV, the game is gorgeous and it's the only game i want to complete to 100%, but it makes me think if Ubisoft took more time to polish and innovate the game because there is a lot recycled content from previous games, it would have been even better, the game has a lot of potential.

 

Though I gotta say most of the armor in this game is unappealing to me, i stick to original Edward Kenway robes with pirate cloak... And i like that some of the armor doesn't have the hood but it bugs me when Edward in cut scenes puts the hood even tough the armor i'm wearing at that moment doesn't have one. Also i think it would have been better that all side activities bring cool rewards like Assassin contracts and Naval ones do after you complete them all.

The game's horribly optimised, i can't jump into the game because it runs badly at 30 FPS and makes my CPU an oven.

 

Ubi responded to this and said that "PC optimization isn't important because they can simply buy a better card". I feel like i could punch someone in the face right now.
