What is your definition of elitism? People throw that word around a lot and don't even know what it means.

I've seen so many posts on the internet where someone who prefers a PC over a console is automatically labelled a PC elitist.

Worst thing that could happen (literally a NIGHTMARE) is waiting for next gen version to be released at May 2014, then waiting ANOTHER 8 months for PC version to like December 2014 or something. Ouch...

I'm playing Hitman Absolution and Tomb Raider since this week and i really enjoy these games, they are very well optimized and look great with a decent graphics card. I can wait for GTA V and even if it doesn't come out for PC, then i will play Watch Dogs and maybe buy a second-hand ps3 sometime with cheap second-hand GTA V. So no problemo for me amigos, i just would love to see GTA V in full glory on at least 1080p and high quality textures and AA. I would say just do something else or play one of the great games that did come out for PC.

lol, Jatiger was just proving my point, and how hypocrite the people that point the finger are and how they make their argumentation, he wasn't serious but what he wrote is very common between these "finger pointers".

Anyway as for this picture, I got it from a friend from another forum, back then I posted an article when that picture was with an article saying that Amazon had a pre-order for PS4 version and I didn't have my "fireshot" working on Firefox so I though about taking the screen later, the next day when I found another alternative plugin for Firefox that could do that the article was gone, he had the image in his cache. I don't think the artcile was a lie or it's an hoax, in fact I mentioned here before that EVEN before we knew how the cover art would be for the game boxes of NG consoles, some small retailer had a pre-order for the XBOXONE version. That I know because I saw it myself but I couldn't understand the language, I think was Ukrainian or something like it, and the box it had was exactly the one that later was revealed by BF4 as the official game box for the XB1, with that green and the console name in white in the middle and the blue for PS4.

In other words that retailer (and most likely many others) had the official box art of a game before it was officially shown, so he couldn't have done a Photoshop by guess, and would be too stupid to create such a "pre-order" hoax. This shot from Amazon is just another nail to all the others.

Also I think it wouldn't make any sense to first release it for Next Gen consoles and PC later, if a NG version is released it means there is a PC version from where it was ported and all the clues indicated. But these NG boxes are a great signal that the PC version was being in development for quite some time and will be the same as Max Payne 3 on PC, otherwise it couldn't be an NG version because they can't grab a current gen version in DX9 and port it too DX11 properly.

Anyway, all we'll get at best is an announcement around the 2nd week of December at best, but it will come.

On a side note and since there aren't any news, I'll live this video here for the laughs, not intended to bash or flame but I thought was quite funny, even my brother that is a COD addicted laughed with it, specially the parents in the end, enjoy:

What I don't get is why I'm the enemy of PC gamers in this thread. I mean, you guys act as if I'm some console fanboy, yeah, clearly I haven't done anything to contribute to the PC scene in the past six years! I'm calling out fanboys and if that means people want to call me out for calling out fanboys then so be it!

 

It's just laugh worthy how SOME of you here go to great lengths to put down consoles, you;d think for a TECH minded lot (as many people assume PC gamers to be), you;d actually KNOWN what the hardware of the consoles can do to before spewing out your hatred and put downs, this one is mainly aimed at S1LVER_W0LF, who can't seem to go three posts here without attacking consoles and console gamers even when unprovoked, it's like he WANTS to create conflict.

 

@DymeDef: See, here's where we're getting wires crossed, it's OBVIOUS the PC version will be better as will next gen versions if they do come out, but why does Silver have to keep bringing this up and putting down consoles, even when no one is even talking about that. I will admit, Silver does have some good eyes on him, but he's clearly PC focused only, and thus, biased, because in the past, such as that thread he mentioned, he was posting about things that were "IMPOSSIBLE" for consoles to do, yet we were taking pictures of them from our console versions of GTAV! Yes it's good to point out how better it can be, but please, don't go to the extreme of out right bullsh*tting and making up crap because that makes no one look good. Or, you know, actually research what the consoles can do with tweaked engines rather than just looking at the specs and deeming them unworthy based on PC logic.

 

As for the people spamming, there have been people in this thread who bring it up, but then you guys write them off as spammers or trolling, I don't know who's trolling who anymore on that front.

 

PS: To everyone else, if you ONLY know me from this thread, I'm sorry, because yeah, I do look like a f*cking jack ass, but I am NOT some kind of enemy towards PC Gamers and PC Gaming, if I was, I'd certainly have a lot more time for other things, but I actually love PC Gaming and modding, I've helped out on many projects over the years such as IV: SA, GTA III Rage Classic, some research, helping out on GTA4-Mods.com, and of course the main project I associate myself with, VCS PC Edition, where we've been working on it for over three years now and made amazing progress and changes to the San Andreas engine thanks to our brilliant team, there's only a few of us, but we're focused, and have some skills to back it up to do amazing things.

Dude don't need to come with your shield on, no one is attacking you, well at least not me but you've been attacking me for quite a long time when I bring valid arguments to the table and you insist about closing your eyes to it.

There was a member here that explained it better then me, but because of his extremism and will to make everyone believe in his word he got banned, but he made a very good technical explanation about most of it, I don't have such a technical expertise but I have my own experience and from what I see I spot a lot of differences, what people say it's just the way the light is being cast I say it's a different technology to cast light, shadows and the way models are displayed and so on.

In that particular thread I made some simple requests, I posted a screen and asked to make an in-game shot exactly like it, and not even asking about trash-bins or objects, just the same image with the same light/shadow effects... and till now I haven't see one that is exactly the same, some shots have the exact same objects, it's in the exact same position but the way they are rendered is different, and this happens because they aren't being rendered in DX9, they use techniques only possible in DX10 and/or DX11, these new API's evolution were towards this, the way the light and shadows are rendered, the way you see objects in the distance, the way Radial/ Gaussian blur is applied, textures and so on...

In other words you say people proved me wrong, but I say no they didn't and if you didn't understand why yet read what I wrote back there and try to understand how some things that you call "small details" are what make things so much different. Like I said I wouldn't bring that up again in that thread and like I said the thread would die and it did, you seem to not understand what I'm saying but when the game is out maybe you'll understand.

When the game comes for NG consoles it will most likely looks as good and for sure a lot better then most computers, because not everyone have capable hardware for it, but before that happens those new consoles need to be tweaked to solve their current problems. Today I've read an article where it's said that each PS4 costs $381 to make and they are sold at $399, so SONY is probably getting less money from each sold console then most developers get for selling a non AAA title. And If they have those issues SONY is getting in dangerous field. I don't say those consoles suck because they don't, they are better then most computers but they aren't as stable as them, and they can't be a successful product before the problems are completely solved.

So please, try to understand things first before pulling your gun out, because the lack of understanding turns things way different then they actually are.

I understand plenty, but some people in this thread just really hate me, which is a shame, because, this thread and the posts in the GTAV section are not really a good reflection of me, I will admit, I'm more of an ass here in this section because that just seems to be the norm if you want to get noticed, I much prefer the other sections of the forum, such as the modding section, we all get on great there, well, most of the time, of course there are arguments about development and research, but that's for a grander scale thing. Honestly, you should check out my posts in those areas, you'd be very surprised to see that I'm not some anti-PC hater demon.

 

As for the PS4, if those numbers are true, then Sony are still in profit per console (minor profit at least) which is WAY better than previous gen when they were selling the PS3 at like a $150 LOSS. Considering the console has already sold way over a million now with a failure rate between 1 - 2 %, that's rather acceptable compared to previous gen again. The problems with the PS4 is a hardware issue of faulty HDMI ports causing issues, other stuff can be patched into the OS later, as they wanted to get it out there to be a gaming machine and focus on extras later. I'm interested in seeing how the Xbox One launch goes in the next few days to but really, in terms of purchase, I'm holding off on both until at least InFAMOUS Second Son next year, I will be however picking up a DualShock 4 now to use on PC.

 

But the fact is, again, you're putting a negative spin on the PlayStation 4 citing it can't be a success until these problems are solved, yet, it's the biggest console launch ever at the moment, it took previous consoles a lot longer to sell a Million in roughly the first month or so, the PS4 did that in ONE day, at a small profit per console, and so far the only major issue being faulty HDMI ports and some OS functions, compared to the PS3, Sony are pretty much laughing here as this is considered hitting the ground running. I would suggest that you read up on the previous generation before you make such claims, as again, one of the things I pointed out, you're coming at this from a PC only viewpoint, which makes some of the things you say in regards to consoles VERY questionable. Don't try and give input on something you don't fully follow and understand, for example, I don't give a crap about Nintendo, so I'm really not the person to give any kind of input or advice regarding Nintendo's sales or strategy because I KNOW I'd just mess it up and fluke it.

 

Now, you do like to do long posts and detailed posts about what you do know, so, hopefully you won't find this an insult or anything if I ask you to just read up on some console stuff before making such claims, because that's the only issue I have with you, whether you know or not, you come off as very bias towards PC, and now at this point, I think you don't mean to be, you just don't really know much about console in both tech/hardware and their history, making these put downs and stuff seem very skewed. And again, I'm NOT making claims myself on something as stupid as "OH THE CONSOLES CAN EASILY MATCH PC'S!!! LOLOL" here, just asking for people to actually read up on some things before making such huge claims and put downs. That's only fair right?

edit: Actually I feel kinda bad that people here only know me because of this f*ck up thread, that's a shame. Seriously, some of you guys, stop by the modding area sometime, things are a bit quiet at the moment but we really do some amazing things with GTA on PC.

Not saying the console side is perfect either, but just mentioning bro, you're part of the problem. Each time I see one of your posts it's either proclaiming something about how great a PC version would be along with subtle put downs and negative spins against console users. Just wanted to air that out as you haven't been around for a few days, ...and it was actually nice around here.
