Uhhh isn't it Steam who control sales? If (hypothetically speaking) R* is sending us a message with this sale, then the message would be "Y'all not getting 5 anytime soon, but for this cheap price you can keep yourself busy until then!"

I'm pretty sure they need permission. Valve doesn't control the price on 3rd party games on Steam.

Weird that GTA IV Complete Edition is on Sale, the game isn't going to work well in a few months time and Rockstar have refused to enter it int the Steamworks Upgrade plan. When GFWL shuts down, the only way you can play GTA IV on PC is by using XLiveLess or other mods to disable GFWL otherwise it's going to bitch at you for not being able to connect.

You probably don't remember, or have never heard of this, but when Valve was developing Half Life 2, a German kid hacked into Valve's server and leaked HL2 onto the net.

Valve was worried they were going to go out of business because of the leak, and even had the FBI find the culprit, and tried to bring him here to the US to be persecuted.

Maybe he didn't see the "2" and thought it was recent. It's very easy to miss if you can't see very well.
